On a similar note, I expressed I would love to see a "Legands" book based around rank 6, gifts for the breeds and all tribes, along with the changing breeds. Concepts like what would it take to become a legend among the different tribes/aupsices or the Fera as well. I think it'd be a blast to read, and I know this isn't for everyone, but sometimes I'm in the mode for epic goals and epic game play....

  • On page 55 it talks about the 4th great symposium taking place in Constantinople in 1866, when that city had been renamed Istanbul by that point for over 400 years.

  • Wish I found this thread earlier...I ran an arch years ago about a wyrm cult called the "Silver Pallet" who were a group of foodies who paid good money for metis flesh (I figured real silverware was a must in those situations, and added some sorcery based marinades so the meat wouldn't be so chewy).

  • If you go by "Past Lives" actually the return of the Croatan does bring back the Eater of Souls as well, the two are bound together...but that's up to the GM on that in my opinion.

  • Oh, hit the wrong quote! I was actually trying to quote the line about tribe popularity impacting who got tune ups and who ended up worse...if LARP popularity was why i'd be epically disappointed

  • If that was true, that would be epically disappointing....can't even properly articulate how much that would bother me...

See I have to agree with concepts like this because Australia would be missing a lot of the mammal breeds (Bears, Cats, Auroch, Boar, Nuwisha/Kitsune), and well Australian Garou are the only things covered....

  • Ok I have to ask, what does "IIRC" mean?

  • Oh this wasn't meant to be arguing with anyone. I was just trying to give OP some options that are written in the books, that's all. I know there are different authors and we can have so much contradiction in WtA, but sometimes people feel better if their angle can be sourced back to something written somewhere....

  • Granted for the status of Turtle that also depends on how much you want the breed books to be cannon in your continuity:
"There are Mokole who have remained children of Turtle despite the fall of the Croatan, and claim that Turtle never departed, only withdrawing from the blood-mad mamals"- Mokole Breed Book Page 63

I see this as an opening to have Turtle not as dormant as some of the other books make him out to be, and could be a source for such a plot you may want to go down...

  • Activated Fetishes and Non-owners/non-shifters

So something I don't think I've noticed in the past covered...if a shifter activates a fetish, and loses it (disarm, throw, drop, ect.) can it be used by someone else who picks it up (i.e. another shifter, human, vampire, changling, ect.)?

  • Not sure if I'm reading wrong but I thought now that I found my Werewolf Storyteller's Hand book I'd but the exact wording form p. 197 on Vis: "Garou heal Vicissitude alterations as if they were aggravated damage".

Yea with that said, I do get that people will change things however based on what game they are playing. Kinda like when there is a comicbook crossover, the character with their name on the cover gets to win. In VtM its not really important because vampires are the main characters, and its what's more fun for a vampire group. However if you're interested...

  • According to the Storyteller's Guide, Vis regenerated just like aggravated damage.

  • So right now I am imagining that they are rather homid heavy as a tribe. My thoughts on this would be that the Bunyip would probably see the creation of metis as a sever crime due to Rainbow Serpent being a fertility spirit (at the least as its Rage Across Australia write up), and would probably be rather upset over the concept of its children creating sterile metis. Also from what I read many Aboriginal cultures have strong relation taboos, and I could see that transferring over to the litany too (maybe I'm wrong or my research is off? I'll admit Australian Aboriginal cultures are something...

  • People at least understand my issue with this part of the tribe right?
If ableism messed your tribe over and was the reason for the 2nd Battle of Moy Tara that (debatably) almost ended your tribe...you think you'd learn (Nuada the High King loses his arm in battle...and has to leave the position, which is then offered to a beautiful (but tainted) successor.....its been a huge pet peeve of just stupidity).
To be a warrior species, who is all about the grand sacrifice, but man, if you lost an arm or something to save Gaia...you better die too because you come back seen as unfit to hold...

  • Did the Fianna keep their anti-Metis and rather oddly ableist view? That was one thing I ALWAYS hated, and when I played a Fianna I made it a huge point to be against in his background. The tribe includes the story of Nuada and his amputation which costs him his as High King that is then handed over to a Fomor sympathizer who betrays the tribe and messes the Fianna over....yet they still keep their odd (rather anti-Garou "oh you lost your arm in a battle to save Gaia, too bad can't be an Alpha now!") perfect mind perfect body garbage. Again, I can't emphasize how much I despised that...

  • Alright, this is definately a start. I'd done some research on Wiki, but I can't find much on Pitjantjatjara custums or culture to help flesh out the Bunyip. At least I can't find stuff that I've found satisfying? I guess that's the term...just some really lose stuff. Personally I want to have them as lifelike as I can instead of a bunch of Aboriginal stereotypes. I like the idea about the skins and "Bunyip Business". One question is, that one of my players is playing a Nuwisha....should I have the Bunyip curse act up around her as well (maybe with a diff that's easier to avoid...

started a topic Shattered Dreams and the Bunyip

    Shattered Dreams and the Bunyip

So I am currently running Shattered Dreams, and I am starting to prep for the War of Tears leg of the journey. Does any one have any great ideas that they may have used with Bunyip (made up camps, cultural habits ect.) or great websites to use for Aboriginal cultures located around Uluru? I'd like to make the Bunyip npc's come alive as much as possible, since this will be my players first time interacting with them ever (none of them have really read the W20 core on them, or Rage Across Australia or any source, they are completely unaware of anything other then dead werethylacine, this is going...
