  • How to make this Callow Kinfolk Family interesting?

While thinking up background for a future story I plan to write soon, I thought that I should plan on detailing the founding family of the organization that the main characters are part of. The family's name is the Carrol's a family that is well-known as the founders of the Junior Foresters, a Boy Scout's like organization. The Carrol's themselves immigrated to America from the United Kingdom in 1840 . At this time however, it was only their Patriarch, Jasper Carrol and his first born son Andrew, who was only 3. Andrew would eventually move West to seek his fortune, getting married in the process.

  • Speaking of Verbena, i think my guy if he were to join any Tradition, he would either be a Verbena, Etherite, or a Euthanatos. Though, i do wonder what use a Mr. Rogers-like guy would be to The Euthanatoi? With the Verbena, my guy would be interested in the whole protection of nature thing due to him having a love of nature as a child, especially due to oddly enough, Wind in the Willows. His love of the story is reflected in the show whenever he goes to his garden, which is populated by characters that wouldn't look too out of place in that story. But with the Etherite's, i need to determine how...

  • Actually, i can see him working as either a Hollow One, Verbena, or a Etherite. Though, it might be kinda awkward for him to fit in with the Hollow Ones considering what his occupation was or is. Especially if any of the "younger" mages watched him as a kid. But, if he does become a Hollow One, i can kinda see him adapting to the Goth thing they have by dressing like Gomez Addams instead of the 18th centuary English nobleman persona he dresses like on TV.

  • One paradigm idea i had was one based on Stage Magic . But, that would probably make him a Orphan. I don't know what other type of paradigms a Kid's tv show host could have. He also has a dynamic avatar.

How to make this type of PC work?

I recently thought up a unique character and decided he would be a interesting PC for use in a Mage chronicle. My basic idea so far for my character, whose name is Carl Shackleton, is that he was or is the host of a kid's TV show called The Mysterious Manor, where he played the master of the manor, Lord John Haverbrook. The show was well-known for it's Stage magic acts, which Carl often did himself, to combine with either the lesson of the day or to show off the whimsy that filled the world where the manor was in. Carl and John, while different personas, shared a lot of common traits with each...

  • Good suggestions so far. Another part of the story was that the Butler's former master or mistress with a Ventrue who, after their embrace, decided to ghoul the family butler, who was now pushing 70, to serve them for eternity, a task he seemed willing to do, becoming the favorite ghoul in the process. Though, i do wonder how a Primogen could claim a Ventrue's former butler after a supposed final death

  • How to make this character interesting

I am thinking about purchasing v:20 soon and I thought up a character for use in a possible campaign. The basic idea is a ghoul who is the archetypal prim-and-proper butler. Basically, he used to be the Ghoul of a kindred, whom he had known since childhood due to him being the butler of his mortal family. Basically, one day his master or mistress went away on a trip where they met the Final Death at the hands of either a Hunter or a Lupine. After his Master's death, the Butler was given to a local Primogen, whom he serves just as faithfully as his old one. However, the butler, when he is not serving...

  • That sounds like a good plot point. One flaw with Stag however, is the fact that they have to protect Fae and Changelings, as per the spirit ban. That might be hard for a group of teenage Junior Foresters.

  • Actually, i kinda figured that a CoG would like The Junior Foresters, especially if that act like a direct competitor to the Serpent Brothood. I can also see a Gurahl or Nuwisha appearing too. One of the boys might be kin, the rest however, are not. If i choose Stag as the boys "spirit guide", i might have a Fianna character show up and act as an ally for the boys, most likely due to their connection to his tribe's totem. Also, i had the idea of making Stag the former "Patron" to the Foresters. This is due to the fact that the founder was a unknowing kin to a Fianna and kinda...

  • I meant the stats for the handbooks. Also, good suggestion for the Kami. Also, since this story is set in the Werewolf setting, it is kinda obvious they are gonna run into a Garou, or at least a Fera eventually. The worst case is that they run into a Red Talon. Though, i do wonder how to handle runs ins with both Garou and Fera.

  • If i go Seelie i might make my guy's noble "Benefactor and Patron" either a Eiluned, Fiona, Gwydion, or Dougal. If i go Unseelie, the House would most likely be either Alil, Aesin, Leanhaun, or Daireann . I would figure that the Noblewoman would end up passing "her newest servant" around other local members of her House to either solve issues they have or get dirt on their rivals. Also, i was considering having the noblewoman somehow end up falling in love with the PI as the stories continue with the PI being completley oblivious to it, kinda expanding on the mad love option....

  • If it's ready i wouldn't mind seeing the stats you got for the stat book. Also, i can see how seeing the "mutated" animals can be a problem for PENTEX, especially if the boys get away. Also, i was considering having a Kami live near the camp and actually be of a benevolent disposition towards the Foresters. I wonder what it's purpose could've been?...

  • Yeah, i can see Eliuned doing that. Also, mad love sounds like both a Seelie and Unseelie thing. Though, i do wonder what could draw a Sidhe to a human possibly in his late 30s early 40s?

  • Which Noble House in both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts would have use for a PI?

  • Actually, that is a good idea. I am still not sure if she is Seelie or Unseelie. Though both would be interesting. Then again one idea for the reason why i had was Usefullness. Which is orobably both a Seelie and Unseelie motivation....

  • How to justify a Arcadian Sidhe giving a permanent enchantment as a reward

I am planning on writing a series of stories set in the Changeling soon. These stories center around a mortal Private Investigator and his Changeling partner solving cases, both Fae and Human. For the Fae cases, his partner for the first few stories gives him a temporary Enchantment to help solve the cases, with the mortal PI forgetting all the fantastical elements of the case afterwards. Eventually, he is hired by a Sidhe Noblewoman to retrieve a stolen treasure swiped by a treacherous courtier. After the case is solved, she decides to reward him by convincing some of her fellow Fae to help preform...

  • I would like to see the write-up if you still have it Freederp92. Also, if i choose Raven as their totem i am picturing a scene where the campers stumble upon money in the middle of the forest and have to try their hardest to resist the allure of it, lest they anger Raven.

Also, PENTEX is just there as part of a deforesting scheme.

  • I am picturing the main characters taking either Stag, Owl, Raven, Unicorn or possibly The Ultimate Ranger as their totem. I am not sure how other totems like Pegasus or Chimera would interact with them. Also, i am planning a scene where the main character have to sneak into a PENTEX lumber operation at night to get a flag a jerk senior year camper placed there for a scavenger hunt. Somehow, they get caught, but not before seeing some "questionable" things. Mostly the heavily militarized security guards. How do you think PENTEX would handle a situation like this and how could the boys...

  • Actually, i do like the idea of having the boys encounter spirits, with one becoming a totem if they like them enough. Though, i do wonder what totem would really be interested in a group of Junior Foresters?
