  • How could you propagate a successful bloodline if your neonates can't walk down the street at all because they are inhumanly ugly? How could you propagate a successful bloodline if some of your vampires get a debilitating mental illness and can't handle the vampire lifestyle?

Malkavians who survive to grow old are those who lucked out into manageable illnesses. Ventrue who survive to grow old are those who lucked out into manageable palates. And things like an invasion or a plague absolutely should be cripplingly bad times even for the methuselahs.

    The "good sides"...

  • This might be RAW, but I resent it. You don't get mulligans on a curse. Food ran out? Tough....

  • There is undoubtedly going to be a lot of variance based on people's perception of the setting. For example, my take on VtM is that killing a vampire of the same sect is incredibly rare, because even the freshest, shittiest fledgeling represents years of someone's effort and passion. Ghouls are expendable. Mortal mercenaries are expendable. Vampires are rare and precious and killing someone is a declaration of war against their sire and however many allies the sire has.

But overall, I would split vampire mortality into two distinct categories with two distinct primary causes of death:...

  • I don't think I've ever seen the Beast be a valid excuse in any of the VtM material. Even when the Beast literally did do it, it's the vampire's failure of self-control that's presented at fault.

  • I'm inclined to say "Gargoyles didn't survive the transition to V5". With the premise of the Second Inquisition and things as everyday as mobile phones being actively hostile to vampires, the obviously non-human Gargoyles do not fit in.

MyWifeIsScary My first question to you would be - what is the purpose of Quietus to you? As a designer. Mechanically and narratively, what is Quietus meant to be?

There are two obvious answers, assuming we don't want to redo Quietus too much. The first is that Quietus is the assassination discipline. The second is that Quietus is a blood manipulation discipline.

For an assassination discipline, we are keeping Silence of Death and keep designing in this area. An off the top of my head sketch:
    1. Blessing of Elil, Lore of the Clans Vizier version of Silence of Death...

No one is claiming that Foster fired back, not even the police chief of Austin. Driver fired at Foster, then someone else (taken into custody and later released) fired back at the driver. There are conflicting reports as to whether Foster aimed his rifle at the driver or not....

  • Why would black Americans be any more of an authority on Africa than white Americans? At this point you should be hiring African immigrants from whatever region you are trying to represent.

Overall, "sensitivity reader" solution doesn't sit quite right with me. I understand the intent, but...
    1. You are appointing a single person or a group of people as the gatekeepers of a culture, dispensing wisdom on what is right and what is wrong. Cultures and the self-perception of members of a culture, tend to be really, really diverse. And often-times contradictory.
