Been bit busy recently, sorry for not having been able to chime in sooner. ^^
It sounds like we're both mostly at a "your ideas are good but maybe not for me" point, so I won't retread that ground. ^^

This latest bonus you suggest seems workable, but I don't remember it being stated that flashlights and the like "act out" in the Hedge? I'm away from books at the moment, so I can't check.

  • Also, if it ever becomes about swaying a mob, that might touch more on Presence than Manipulation. It could be hard to reach the ringleader in order to Manipulate him, and if her presence isn't really high as well, she may not win tug-o-war contests with crowd opinion, Majesty or not.

Don't worry about upsetting me by debating these!
How else will we pool our creativity?
I hope you likewise won't feel I'm attacking you with these thoughts of mine. ^^

Your post is quite long and mine will be too; I won't quote it for brevity's sake, but I'll just respond by topic!

    Concerning the Exceptional Success Effect
I don't have entirely the same interpretation of Meghan's answer. This:

to me reads as "these are the ways in which the Contract changes by making it a merit". She never mentions the dicepool changing,...

I'm past the halfway point of coming up with 4 Seeming bonuses for every Contract, below are the ones I have for Dance of the Toys. I like my Darkling & Elemental ones, so you could check them out if you're looking to replace yours (and a note for the Elemental one you have: objects don't normally track aggravated damage separate from any other damage, so doing that may lead to extra bookkeeping, which I try to avoid in these benefits for elegance).

The Fairest one you have would not make sense to the way I play it: since the device uses the number of successes rolled on the activation...

  • If you count 10's twice then each 10 on 10-Again is worth 2 successes, which is a big difference up from ~1.33. Especially once you go up to 8-Again the total amount of successes will be a lot higher that way....

  • Why not make it every 2 10's add 1 success? This makes it far closer to the normally expected 1.33 (ignoring rolling 10-again on a re-rolled 10) successes per 10. Since if you roll exactly even 10's it'll be 1.5 for those 10's, but if you roll an uneven number then the last 10 you roll essentially becomes just "1".

So the average successes per 10 would depend on the amount of 10's you roll, and would be:
    (Amount of 10's : average successes/10)
    1: 1
    2: 1.5
    3: 1.33
    4: 1.5
    5: 1.4

Across these 5 scenario's that would average 1.346......

  • There is no reason to assume that they do, all other fae that develop frailties explicitly state that they do.

IIRC, that question was answered by one of the writers before, and the True Fae does not lose access to the Title themselves. They are imbued with a representation of the Title/part of it, rather than with the whole thing.

    P. 270:

It does not spell it out, but it seems logical that the Seeming benefits of the associated Seeming are also part of that....
