  • Try "Wile E. Coyote" manouver: let them chase the corax to the Great Canyon in homid form and then fly away. Angry garou will likely chase him in crinos from and stopping 600 lbs full speed to full stop is difficult....

Ok, you're right, I didn't mention that it would be only one attack (but we were wondering if he could split dices for many attacks and if the bonus would apply for every one of them) πŸ™‚. But still it could tear a tank apart. It was a combination of gifts (ok, from different Fera but as I said we overlooked some things). As we didn't find any rules stating how to resolve activation of many gifts in one round he, as a Storyteller, decided: "first bonus for Rage points then gifts which multiplies Strenghs then those who raise it and in the end those with bonus for damage rolls, first those...

In that case it wasn't about the mechanics but rather about a group of unusual characters meet each other. To be honest this character was created to have the player decide: his duty or his mysterious past....

We once got an idea to make the most overpowered characters we could overlooking some rules like dicecap. Using proper combination of gifts, merits and stats we created a few superheroes. Unfortunately I can't give you a certain examples (except Ahroun with Silver and Wyrm immunity), it was over 20 years ago and my friend is gone. But I can give you my own ideas, based on 1st, 2nd and revised edition.

Lupus Ahroun Wendigo with spirit parent (merit from 2nd Edition tribebook)
Homid Gaillard Fianna with faerie blood (merit from 2nd Edition tribebook)
    Homid Gaillard Shadow...

My friend used to create superheroes which, overlooking some mechanical rules, can literally tear the world apart. For example:

-Gurahl who could deal over 80 dices of damage
-Fianna who had 27 dices for most social tests
-the luckiest garou on the world, who has 2 automatic succeses for most tests and, in case of emergency, reroll a few of them
    And my own ideas
-Cainite who can eat food, is inoffensive to animals and can look like an ordinary mortal without using bloodpoints
-buying a big disused powerstation in the center of London for 500kΒ£ using...

  • I usually stick to the metaplot. On the other hand I let my player's characters affect it (sometimes for better, most of the times for worse). Currently I run a game set in the 80's and my player's decisions can lead to Week of Nightmares never happen.

  • I'm glad you liked it. It's a shame that this forum limits don't allow you to show us all that (maybe next time you should record that πŸ˜‰). I like that idea of talen. And from what I see you have players who can overcome their friendship in favour of role playing. It's rare so good for you. Best wishes you all. Hope we'll hear some more of your endavours sometimes....

A joke I've heard from Fianna:

A Red Talon cub asks his father:
    - Daddy, why you have to circle a human a bit before you eat him?
    - If you like your food shit flavoured don't do that.

    πŸ˜‰.

Ok, try to imagine a trip on a plane. You can't fly in other form than homid. Maybe glabro. Assuming that you have time to prepare for a crash you still can't take other form (on the other hand hearing panic screams you should roll for frenzy but that would worsen the situation). If you don't frenzy there are two options. Either you remain conscious or not. If you are active you still have to walk away ignoring pleas for help if you don't want to be seen transforming. But others will propably interpret this as a state of shock and will try to stop you (another frenzy test?). If you are unconscious...

No, it won't. Delirium makes mortals forget crinos or rationalize it ("it wasn't werewolf, these were terrorists") not forget about Garou in homid. The most optimistic version would be that such terrorists killed him.

Ok, that's another thing. And I agree that it would be hard to explain....

I once used the template of maneater from "Outcasts". I gave it to my best player (to be my First Mate, but later the PCs pack accepted him) and it worked great....

Of course. But look at the adventure idea I wrote. How they would explain their sudden missing (their names are most likely on passengers list) and what would be the implications of that. As for being in peak of human condition it's the most optimistic variant. More likely they would be wounded (even if the regeneration worked which also be hard to explain). Of course most of the Garou live in packs and most of the packs have totem. So they could easily alarm their packmates and bring help. If the entire pack was on that plane well "no one but us will know"....

So let's try to decide which tribes would judge mentioned Garou harsh and which would accept it as some necessity. My turn
Punishement: Fianna, Get of Fenris, Silent Striders, Silver Fangs, Wendigo
Acceptance: Black Furies, Bone Gnawers, Children of Gaia, Stargazers, Shadow Lords, Uktena, Glass Walkers.
I omitted Red Talons. Not just because they have a special place in their hearts for humans but also because I have trouble imagining one of them in a plane. My call is that it would be rather 50:50.

As for other options available it's not so simple. First of all...

From what I know there was only one kind of prey: humans. Remember that it was above 11000 ft (3500 m), well over the snow line. And there aren't many animals living on that level. So basically mentioned Garou could either hunt (and eat) humans or rely on roadkill (airkill?). I think that it's not succumbing to the Wyrm (especially it wasn't the habit but an adaptation to the extreme situation). Rather a survival of the fittest. If that is the same then succumbing to the Wyrm I pity the entire Garou race πŸ˜‰.

And it's not the only situation when people (and possibly Garou) eat human...

I belive that you quote 2nd edition in which Battle Scars can be aquire twofold:
    1. If a garou reach health level incapacitated then the roll is made for battle scar
    2. If the Rage roll for staying active while being critically wounded fails then the roll is made for battle scar adding one die.
In W20 it's storyteller's discretion. i believe that a plane crash is a good cause of battle scar.

Of course. But it would have it only in crinos from. And, as there was a professional sport team on board, it could be one of the many with stamina 4 (which I...

W20 p.260, Battle Scars: "one of your character's bones snapped and did not heal properly"

Maybe it was a Children of Gaia and couldn't leave the humans (not to mention that loosing Renown for leaving the helpless humans behind). Or maybe its physical stats and survival skills (any of them, survival is obvious, athletics for climbing etc.) are abysmal (take the worst combination, that would give him 5 strenght and 4 stamina in CRINOS form; I saw that combination once) so going anywhere was beyond its capabilities (not to mention that if you fall asleep you...

I begun to wonder what the Elder Philodox would say about a garou who survived the 1972 Flight 571 crash. Ok, some may say that he could bring help going through the Umbra or something like that but what if it was homid, who was severely wounded (regeneration doesn't put your bones in proper place, it just heals them as they are), had low Gnosis or was just afraid of spirit world?...

That's why I call this movie great.

First of all the gradually change in Nicholson's character, from an older guy, who's health is failing and who is loosing his will to fight into an alpha male. That includes:
-marking of the teritory you've mentioned
-heightened senses ("don't tell me it was a drop of tequilla")
-(yeah, I know, feminists will lynch me πŸ˜‰) his male sexual energy
Plus the devilish smile of Nicholson so no characterisation was needed. The same changes in Spader who reacts differently. And, IMHO, the worst part: Michelle Pfeiffer....

Well, to be honest it is a vigilante cop action movie but with a great WoD atmosphere and werewolves. 2 funny things:
    1. Look at the shapeshift scene near the end of the movie (little spoiler alert). It's not a slow, painful process "because of full moon" or "because it's your curse" (like in "The Wolf" with Nicholson, another great werewolf movie). It looks like "I spend a Rage point and attack".
    2. In 1st Edition Get of Fenris tribebook there's a Ragabash vigilante cop template.
And another fun fact: I've never seen trailer of this movie....
