  • Depending on their capabilities, you could simply craft them as core tech or pheraps novatech. I mean, look at what Boston Dynamic can do now, and imagine what their drones could do after a Nova with MEgaint 3 and some of the design edges gives them a once over....

I'd also note that the system you use doesn't mean you use the the same justification. For example, using the sorcerous workings rules, doesn't mean that you define the people using it in Authocthonia as sorcerers. It's just a way to work on thins without having to create an entirely new rules system.

So, you could define it as something that say, requires a workshop for any circle (because this is being used as ritual/magitech), and has hard limits based on the support of your nation/alchemical.

And then, you have a much smaller (perhaps only alchemical) number of...

  • Well, for this setting, which i hiope to get done, because 2020 is over and 2021 will be nicer to me, the numbers would be smaller so the amount of technological development would be lower--10 million vs. billions means a lot fewer opportunities for "ah-hah!" That being said, one of the possible options would be them contacting earth, rather than the other way around, which requires some degree of exploration. (and to be fair, you don't have to have a LOT of space capable Psiads. A few teleporters with portal can comfortably explore a lot).

    I've been thinking that since...

What would a Psiad society look like.

I'm doing some things, but one of the projects I'm looking at it a lost colony where psiads are somewhat more common--but no psions. So I'm trying to think of what the differences would be like.

The first difference is that, obviously, people are going to be less specialized. It's highly likely that some of the more useful "day to day" abilities might be picked up even if you don't intend to go any further in them A dot in telepthay for example.

the second difference is that the biggie powers are going to be far rarer--the only way a psiad gets five dots in...

  • Spoilers for Terra Firma: Who turned out the lights.

In Terra firma, one of hte groups described found something that terrified them.

A device, or weapon that literally turned off a sun. Didnt blow it up--somehow just turned it off, even though the loss of the hydrogen reaction should have led to a collapse and at least a CME. The worlds orbiting the sun are still intact--as are the frozen remains of the civilization that called them home.

Now the thing is, of everything we've seen in the setting, this is probably by far the most powerful. The Doyen have never shown any ability to use such an immensely powerful wepaon--their...

  • Well, the nice thing about Terra in the Trinity era is that getting from place to place is actually pretty easy. So your team might be responsible for say, most of Latin America--and in that case, even if artifacts are only very rarely found in absolute terms, you'd be fairly busy.

The thing is that you'd have to have a fine balance between showing that most of these "finds" are actually non-functional devices or even things that are mistaken for nova tech that really weren't, and getting the party bored.

And then you build up the "stable" of NPCs--the...

  • IF you want to think about th sheer weirdness trinity era characters can run into, be it former Nova experiments or long-gone alien societies...

Well, Forbidden Planet has it all.

Also, you're able to watch Forbidden Planet, so there's actually no downside to this....

  • Also don't forget that both Quantum and Noetic societies, absent interference, appear to, if they survive, transcend and level the universe. so it's not so much dead as "a lot of them took off for other realms."

I'm not certain, since Talented societies are called out as not transcending in the same way, why we don't see them, but they may have some other form of transformation.

So in Trinity, even societies separated by only a few hundred thousand years may never see each other, because the earlier one has left.

  • And along with Gundam, moved mecha out of the "super robot" genre. Rick didn't fly ULTRA VALKYRIE MEGA! the robot built by his father, before he was murdered by the agents of RUST, and can shatter armies...

he flew VF-01 Serieal number fill in the blank, a model identical to all of his squadron mates. (Gundam had no dubbed version in America and came out just long enough before Macross that the animation is a bit dated, which is why it's not as widely known).

But yeah, the crossover potential is pretty high--or hell, at some point just an AU where the Doyen...

So, anyone play around with crossovers?

Other games, or other properties? I was thinking, since some of my friends are big macross fans, os a macross crossover, with the SDF arriving a few years before the Galatea event (or possibly even being the thing that sparks the event, rather than Mal's actions)....
