    If the car leaving is insignificant then how would you cast the spell to find out when the car left?

  • I love that post. I recently had the talk with my players that were complaining about Wisdom: That it was preventing them from doing what they wanted to in-game. I told them that maintaining Wisdom was not the goal of the game and that they shouldn't get too hung up on it. It is what it is. It's part of the fun of the game to push the boundaries and see where you end up. Only really reckless characters are going to fall below 3 generally. Which is really only the difference between containing a level 2 Paradox and a level 1 Paradox. It won't nuke your character generally, but the uncontained Paradoxes...

  • Postcognition: Do you think it's a valid Time 1 Knowing spell to ask "When precisely did this subject's Temporal Sympathy change?

    For instance, the car was parked on the street and you want to know what time it left so that you can Postcog to see it leave.

    Good ideas. I think I'm going to have the pawnshop just be a convenient place for the exchange to happen without Zee having to give the item to Genevieve directly.

    Interestingly, no one in the cabal has Time so I don't have to worry about Postcog like you usually do in Mage. Three of my four players have Mind 2+ though and using Perfect Recall for accurate witness testimony is fairly popular.

  • Yes, this is an attempt at a Knowing spell. Not a Weaving spell to copy Ghost Numina from a Ghost standing next to you. Too powerful for 1-dot.

  • I will say that they pass the cool factor test, but do they pass the game mechanics test?

    The "Knowing" needs to be about something in Death and Spirit's purview IMO. So Ancestral Seance to gain skill in Crafts doesn't work, as Crafts is not in Death's purview.

    So as cool as these are, I'm going to have to agree that these don't really fly.

    What you need is to use Ghost Summons to force a Ghost to use it's own skills for whatever it is you're trying to do instead, or to get a Teamwork bonus.

  • These should only give a +1 to Skill, not Potency level of Skill. Mind's Enhance Skill is a 3-dot Perfecting spell after all.

    Ok. I think that will work really well. I have enough to go on now. I'll probably leave the decision about whether or not the brother is in the cult to the last minute depending on what I think will be best for the story.
