  • Rereading my last post, I think I may have been a bit too touchy. That being said, I reworked the character concept into something that allowed for what feels like a more satisfying result:

Perspicacious Coney was taught to read and write young, so as to help out with the family textile business. She excelled at reading, and devoured every book she could. That was the start of her wanting more from life; she had read about so much more than actual life had shown her. As she grew she came to realize that being the seventh child meant there wouldn't be much of an inheritance for her,...

  • Honestly, I've always felt Beast just didn't belong in the CoD. It feels more like a fan-written book to me. Like it's not really its own idea. I don't feel like it's built out of mythology, literature and cinema the same way that the other games are, or at least not like it's built out of one common vein. Character concepts for Beast that I have seen always seem like ones I feel disappointed were used for Beast and not another character type. Plus the way that it connects to all the other lines feels like a fan-written move, something done to kind of ingratiate the newcomer in a way that never...

  • That's kinda the idea. She was a mortal when she was taken and changed. Her exaltation was what broke the mind control.

I run Changeling twice a week, one session as part of an educational supplement for a high school psych program through Americorps, and the other as part of my ministry, as an exploration on the subject of pastoral care, so I've actually done a fair bit of writing on the themes of that game. I think you and I might have a very different point of view about what Changeling is about, such that I think I might want to avoid playing a character with a connection...

    Where's that from?

Disguise of the New Face doesn't say anything about the anima....

    Obscuring The Anima

Is there any published item or charm, any edition, which allows a character to make their anima appear to be an anima of a different exalt type? Specifically to allow an exalt to masquerade as another type of exalt? Closest thing I have found is the Nishkriya Mask, but that just adds an anima banner to someone who didn't have one to begin with.

  • Oh, pfft. I don't know why, but for some reason when you said a pair of rulers I thought of it as two rulers who each had a spouse. The idea I'm working from with this character is that she was inserted into a noble house artificially as part of her fae master's schemes, but he died and she regained control of herself. Thus she's not really in a place to reveal herself without letting it be known that the physical marks that make her seem to have high breeding are actually mutations (shaped by the Rakasha specifically to let her pass). If she's a legitimate member of the royal family it takes...

  • I've been of the same mindset, off-and-on. I don't mind making that change.

Ah, would it be alright if my character was the widow of the one who doesn't have their daughter on the throne? Particularly if they hadn't been married long?

Since it's on a coast line, are we likely to have the plot taking us out on the sea?

Are you tied to having the character being that young Arfan? Your story sounds like loosing her twin could have been done later in life. Current time could be a year or so after that, perhaps with the character just passing the...
