  • Gravity control is already covered by the Quantakinesis Energetics Mode. Being able to manipulate it wouldn’t automatically make you an Aberrant suspect to the Legions, but maybe a QK Aberrant sympathizer....

  • You’re confused about their origin. The Firstborn are the products of ‘intermingling’ between Urfarah and other things. The specifics of how these happened, we’ll probably never know. (See below.)

You’re taking it too literally. The mystery of how a Panagaean (not that modern Uratha know what they were) and a spirit came together - if they ever did and it’s not just legend - may or may not have anything to do with physicality and sex. It’s one of those areas that is unlikely to ever be defined.

Edit: with more detail in answers above from nofather etc....

    replied to Hardtech FTL?
It could be done, yes. It would still be FTL based off Quantum powers, just like the Leviathan is teleportation tech based of psionic powers....

That is exactly an underlying assumption of the setting....

  • Duat isn’t a clear cut case. It might be associated with Lower Depths, it may be more Abyssal. Or it may be something else entirely, empowered by the Rite of Return that broke the world as it was.

  • Could the Star Trek Universe be the future of the TC timeline after Aeon?

No. Too many differences in underlying assumptions and technologies.

Could you run Star Trek with the serial numbers filed off with Aeon rules? Yes.

There are subtle differences between Trinity and Scion Storypath but I don’t think this is one of them. My guess would be that it’s a misconception as you’ve suggested. Magic could certainly override this, but the base healing systems are meant to show the slightly more realistic gradual recovery....

Intent is for Injury Conditions to downgrade with the Resolution, not disappear. This is consistent with First Aid and the intent of the healing system, which is also consistent with how the Vitakinetic Basic ‘Knit’ power fast-tracks healing.

  • It doesn’t really mean anything. We know the Doyen weren’t close but there are no rules set in stone for the process, we don’t know if it’s species dependent or the same for everyone. The threshold could be Psi 8 for all we know but it requires steps to achieve.

All it means is that in my mind I’ve set the transcendence number at 10 for consistency with Quantum users....

  • I think you need to re-read the Doyen sections - they were nowhere near transcendence levels of Psi. They tried to artificially rush the evolutionary process and inadvertently forever locked further evolution and transcendence out of their grasp....

  • You mean the completely natural results of the wave of energy released by an exploding Telluric device in the 1930s?

In my head, Psi 7 isn’t how far humanity can go. Give us a few thousand more years and we’ll be subquantum gods on the verge of transcendence. ...

The first sentence of the System tells you the power applies within the psion’s Radius. Nothing in the ‘Used defensively’ part says otherwise. The final sentence under System tells us it lasts for a scene.

    Edit: Ninja’d by Florin, thanks.

Ian has answered the FAQ/Errata question and I’ve answered the power intention in the Dev thread.

If you’re a member of the Trinity:Continuum Discord server, at least one of the members maintains an unofficial FAQ as questions arise....

    replied to Ask a Dev
After rolling to activate the power (and spending 1 Psi point if activating reflexively) the psion selects up to Mode dots/2 types of energy (or attack ‘energies’ from the power description) and spends successes up to Mode dots/2 (per energy type) to subtract that number of successes from attacks of that type - in effect, increasing the Difficulty/Defense against those attack types.

This applies to the selected energy types within the character’s Radius and lasts for one scene. Note that this is an imprecise power that applies against the energy type regardless of source - if...

  • This is precisely the kinds of edge cases that the combining Aptitudes rules are intended to be used for. TC:A’s theme is Unity and while individual psions are incredibly powerful, as they explore and discover more of what the universe has to offer they’ll find more and more situations where they must work together and combine abilities to overcome the challenges.

Reading true AI is such a case. Telepathy won’t completely work as the mind is too alien. EK won’t completely work as the programming has an additional element. Combine the two and you can overcome the limitations...
