  • Definitely. Any future proxy-level psions are certainly not proxies as engineered by the Doyen.

  • I imagine the proxies have been rendered especially vulnerable to direct Doyen possession (plus they’d built in some other back-door cheats - see Prometheus Unbound when it’s released) but the generic psion tinkerings were a little harder to achieve. Being Psi 5-7 and having high Telepathy Modes is probably sufficient to browbeat any victim when necessary, anyway.

  • It wouldn’t change much as most Basic powers are on/off without much interaction with successes. (Except Burst to an extent, and Mindspeak. Possibly a couple of others.)...

  • Mindspeak does rely on successes for understanding alien minds, but it’s an unusual situation where it will be relevant as the Complication doesn’t sidestep the other limitations on the power. That is, you still need a common language for anything beyond raw universal concepts (“Danger”, “Hungry”, “Scared”), and the subject has to be willing to allow the connection. So the level 4 Complication from the ‘scared and unwilling Chromatic’ doesn’t happen unless that Chromatic has willingly accepted the connection (even though it’s unwilling to ‘speak’) and you won’t get...

  • Basic powers count as 0-dot and characters get the usual Enhancement bonus. This means even a novice psion with only 1 dot in a single Mode will gain +1 Enhancement to the Basic Power activation.

Remember that dice should only be rolled when it’s interesting or risky, or the character failing would lead to drama. I’d rarely call for anyone to have to roll to use their Basic powers unless under considerable duress - generally just allow automatic activation and give highest Mode dots successes if needed.

  • Short answer is yes, but none have been published officially yet.

Slightly longer answer is that you can find several ‘unofficial’ extra Moon Gifts written by Chris Allen aka Acrozatarim on this forum, or faster by following his patreon. Chris wrote ~99% of the gifts in the WtF2e core, and all those in Shunned By The Moon, so you know you’re in good hands.

I don’t agree that there’s a need for a ‘fix’, but if groups want to allow it, just allow it. You don’t need to make clauses and hurdles to overcome something that you’re trying to allow.

  • Intended in the spirit of helpfulness, there are many people of various genders contributing here so please take care to not use gendered or exclusionist terminology when interacting.

You’re overthinking it. Talents can have the one-off uses of Q-tech because they can. That’s it. It’s the dramatic moment when someone unable to use the magic technology device manages to get the single shot off and save the day, or disrupt the villain’s plans, or whatever. It’s the dramatically appropriate thing because Talents run on dramatically appropriate moments. There’s...

  • Ah, from TC: Aeon for Aberrant NPCs. That’s not a power that lets them imitate psi with quantum. That’s a system hack to let NPCs produce psi-like effects so the Storyguide can say ‘yes, this one shoots lightning like a Photokinesis effect’. And it has nothing to do with PC novas.

In the prime Continuum, psi can have some manipulation of Quantum via Quantakinesis, Quantum can’t manipulate psi....

Advanced Aptitude - Quantakinesis is already a primary Aptitude for every psiad, you just need to reach Psi 3 for it to be ‘opened’ (and be in the right time period). With Teleportation, it’s fine but is essentially just an XP/Edge dot tax. If you want people to be able to take Teleportation as primary, I’d suggest to just do it.

The reason why no psiad has teleportation as a primary is that psiads grow into their psi organically. There’s no ‘strong latency’ for a psiad as they’re not blocked and have their psi build up as a pressure response like latents do. Every...

Psiads are deliberately on the ‘dark star’ nova level and aren’t designed to go directly against high scale bruisers. If someone wants to play in those leagues I’d recommend taking an actual nova.

  • In a perfect future the Chibs will come back and be reintegrated into psion society, can work to eliminate the corrupted zones, and then possibly help new novas/aberrants to minimize their corruption.

  • It’s arguable whether his jerk-ass nature was Aberration or him just being a jerk-ass. More evidence points to it being an essential part of his jerk personality rather than having any Quantum crutch to put blame on. Pax’s main Aberrations were his Quantum Anima and being Hairless (both of which you can see on the Aberrant cover art and the Project Utopia book. (Not TC: Aberrant.)...
