  • Let’s remember to pick up this conversation again when the appropriate previews are released. I’d love to continue the discussion.

Regarding Psiads - They’ve been mentioned as a stretch goal, but not added to the list with a dollar figure yet. When they are, if we get them unlocked, we’ll see the rules relatively soonish as they’ll appear in the expansion. If not, then it will take longer as they’ll have to fit into some other supplement later.

Personally, I hope we get to whatever the goal is and get them sooner rather than later.

My personal view is that there’s nothing stopping higher Tiers existing under the Trinity Continuum concept. I have a few ideas towards that way, myself. However, it’s way too early to begin building for higher Tiers when we haven’t really finished rounding out what’s possible at Tier 3 (novas), and have only scratched the surface for some antagonist builds at Tier 4 (Aberrants).

In my own personal head space, humanity is destined for higher Tiers. However, Quantum powers tend to get their faster by their very nature (burn bright, burn quick), but this speed brings dangers...

  • The Setting Secrets chapter goes into some more detail about it, but I won’t say anything more about that here... yet. ...

  • Okay, I understand what you’re asking now, thanks.

Briefly, and working from 1E principles, Nihon working out how to make Superiors doesn’t necessarily mean they know or understand anything else about Talents, how they work, or how to detect the ones they haven’t specifically made into Superiors.

  • I really have no idea. But since Talents are Tier 2, and Stalwarts, Mesmerists and Talents were all roughly equal in 1E Adventure!, it seems like a reasonable guess....

  • No. I think John or Ian has mentioned something about Clarisentients sometimes getting a ‘vibe’ around strong Talents, but nothing definable.

Mundane. I don’t understand the part about Nihon, sorry....

  • Psions and Talents are Tier 2. Proxies and Novas are Tier 3, Aberrants are Tier 4.

I think this may be a case of the core preview listing Mundane-Talent-Psion-Proxy-Nova-Aberrant as individual rows on the table (on page 3), rather than grouping them by Tier, or having a column that spelled out what Tier they were.

If I’ve missed another section of the Core preview that lists it otherwise, please point me in It’s direction....

  • The ones that are the same name, mostly yes. The ones with different names, some yes, some no.

No idea. I’ve never read a fan supplement with them in it.

As a general sense of similarities, my first step in building the new system was to work out the basic dice resolution mechanic. My second step was to sit down with every published power for the Aptitudes, see what worked, what didn’t, what was less thematic, more thematic, which were speed bumps, which worked well within Storypath, which didn’t work at all in Storypath, what to do about...

  • The character creation backer preview explicitly tells you how. Spend experience. Reach Psi 6, meet the minimum number of dots in Modes, and there you are.

While as you say, the current Proxies may be assumed to have taken a slightly different path, there's no (out of character) mystery to how anyone else gets there in 2nd edition.

From your guess above, am I correct in assuming you haven't read the backer previews? Or did you miss the part that details the process? (Easy enough to do.)...

  • Option 1 is a very good way of no longer having a totem, unless there’s a good reason why it wants to be bound into a fetish. Totems tend to hang around their pack and its territory, but aren’t strictly carried around as a captive or anything.

In 2nd ed, there’s a lot of incentive for both pack and totem to treat each other with various levels of respect and equality. Every pack is different, and some will be more or less dominant, but many (Forsaken) packs have a symbiotic relationship with their totem, which works best for everyone. (As Malus said, Pure totems tend to be more...

  • There are two ways of reading it, and I’m pretty sure we’ve never defined which is more correct. (Which is why I presented two Pack Merits dealing with Kuruth - one for each interpretation.)

You can run it that only your pack rages, which has its advantages and disadvantages, or you can run it that any Bass-im has everyone raging, which has its advantages and disadvantages. Whichever works for your table, just make sure you’re consistent. ...

  • Fun fact: the new Psi power rules didn’t exist when I wrote the fictio. The fiction was the ... 5th segment I wrote for AEon, using John’s outline for what he wanted the powers to be able to do. I was very happy when he later offered me the chance to write the power rules, so I could fit them to the AEon stories I saw running around in my head.
