The reason I think it should be celestial is mostly thematic. You need celestial power to call upon the celestial. Balance wise, you could make it work as either depending on the desired effect.

Though it sounds more fitting in general as a capstone occult charm or evocations for an orichalcum artifact. Does not mean it CAN'T be a spell, but more suitable as other things.

If you want it to last a day, it should be a ritual. Maybe having it as a controll spell let you cast it as a ritual taking 10 minutes witch last a day but normally it costs sorcerous motes and lasts...

  • Breaking the monstrance is like breaking any other artifact I imagine, tricky but possible with physical violence. The hard part is actually gaining access to it. A ST is of course free to add any complications they deem fitting if any to the breaking of the monstrance.

Cleansing an abyssal... If the ST want to allow it at all under the workings rule system, I would say Solar 2. "Utterly transform the nature of a supernatural being". I would probably place a requirement to break the monstrance before it may be attempted....

I like it. Needs more details of course. I would beef it up a bit and place it as celestial to keep it out of mortal hands. Unless you want to use it as a plot hook for a mortal faking being a solar (for some reason)...

  • Sounds like the sacrifices and infrastructure are means and the flashy powers are the workings themselves. If you are after "If x people are slain here, grant y power" then it COULD be a working (high celestial at least depending on the details) but is way more fitting as first age artifice.

Something that could work would be something like "A beliver in the sorcerer may perform a sacrifice at the altar, granting them a number of dice equal to the resource value of the sacrifice x2. These dice can be spent on actions made to fulfill the purpose of the sacrifice. A practitioner...

Seems like a waste of good fluff for it to simply make the boring effect of easier to hit. It also seem crazy strong at first glance, witch of course depends on cost, duration and circle. Consider giving the BG might 1 and some other special and interesting effect instead maybe?...

You said nothing about the size of your spell so how can you say wether it is larger or smaller? Same with duration. And while the spell covers a large area, it can only be used once per story.

You are asking for a spell that can do an important part of a solar level spell can (turn infertile ground into fertile soil) plus extra (transmuting ground into "something else"). You need to be way more specific. For all I know, you can use the spell to turn stone into gold or jade....

Sounds like workings. And there is a spell that turn deserts fertile, Benediction of archgenesis. I have already mentioned this spell to you before....

  • Not sure what you mean by background dots. But merits, sure. Should probably not be a "merit demon" though but rather a demon capable of granting a specific, or a few specific merits. With either a significant drawback or for xp....

  • Hmm, maybe this change to endowment.

It grants "borrowed dots/specialties". Borrowed dots do not count towards calulating exellency limits and cannot help you to qualify to charms you don't otherwise qualify for. A character can make the knowledge their own by reflecting on this alien information for a few hours and paying the experience cost. From this point on, the dot is like any other dot. A character who have more than (essence) borrowed dots/specialties begin to suffer derangements. The more dots the worse or more plentyful the derangements become. The exalted lose...

  • Well done, but need some considerations.

Devour knowledge seem more fitting as a gambit or option when grappling rather than an attack. Though perhaps that wasent a thing in 2e witch this seem to be modeled for?

Endowment is way too easy to abuse for PCs. A sorcerer can quickly get 5 in all skills while never really risking failure on the roll to not go crazy. So a head ache for a month or two in return for being exalted among exalted seem like a sweet deal. Just like the penalty fade for exalted, so too should the granted dots. Or a hard limit on the number of...

Keep working on it, as I mentioned. Big fan of the idea, but not of the implementation. Can't think of a good (in my opinion) implementation from the top of my head, but doesnt mean there isint one....

    Hmm, how about this?

    The Tell-Tale Shade
    Cost: Ritual, 3wp
    Duration: Until Sunrise

Using a link to their target, the sorcerer creates a shade of essence and darkness. This shade is not a spirit, but a simple mimicry of who the link belong to. It can only be ordered by the sorcerer to stay, follow or tell a tale. It wont attack or otherwise help the sorcerer and a single point of damage witch effect spirits destroy it. When it is created, the sorcerer roll (Occult+intelligence) where the successes are the number of tales it can tell before fading.
    ...

No problem if done right. What to be careful about is not wrecking investigation and a major part of socialize (read intentions). All charms relating to lie spotting, forcing people to tell the truth and finding out intimacies could be made pointless....

I think it would be more approprite that "if the sorcerer have a major/defining negative intimacy towards the target or something the target stands for (for example hatred for the wyld hunt and the target is a shikari of the wyld hunt) they do not require a link". In other words, if the hatred they pour into the doll is genuine. Bear in mind, in order to use the spell effectively, you need to spy on them, easy to do with demons/elementals against normal people, but those with power are likely to find out. Then there is the whole messing with causality thing and the sidereal who may take...

  • An immortal cow is not immortality? The main benefit of an immortal animal is not that you can repeatedly slaugther it...
A possible but sadistic thing you can do is combine a cow with a lizards ability to regenerate limbs....
A beef tree is terrestrial 2 (cow+fruit tree) but for it to bear fruit each day is an additional T3 working. "an existing species with a minor supernatural
power that augments its strongest traits." Would probably allow a single celestial 2 working, does not match any of the listed examples but seems a fitting level....
