I love GURPS, I've been reading up on my old copy of the GURPS Basic Set (Third Edition) and some of the supplements for it, including the GURPS adaptations of Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse and I like what I'm reading.

Never had a chance to actually play or run GURPS, but that may change very soon.

  • Hopefully this means I can make a "Requiem for Roanoke", detailing the Kindred of the Roanoke Valley and their various struggles and intrigues.

Um, I actually am a Roman Polytheist....it's a small fringe religion but it does exist. Plus, what about mainstream polytheist religions like Shinto and Hinduism? Are they evil Earthbound creations?

Having grown up in a fundamentalist household in the heart of Appalachia, I really do not like the tired cliche of "all pagan deities are really evil demons" because I have had such accusations thrown at me, by my own father no less!

Plus, the Christians probably wouldn't like the fluff that states that their religion was literally created by Lucifer.

I'd get rid of the problematic fluff regarding the Earthbound and non-Abrahamic religions.

I'd rather see a Hunter: The Reckoning 20, but I doubt we'll see anymore X20 lines with V5 out and Wr20 and C20 finally given a full release.

Shame really, because while I don't care for Demon, it does have its fans and I'd like to see X20 updates for Hunter and the other remaining game lines as well.

Of course, one could do a fan update to X20 like they did with Street Fighter, and like what I intend to do with Senshi: The Merchandising.

You bring up a very good point.

Personally, I like the Action-Horror approach (or as others may derisively call it, "Superheroes With Fangs") and I generally find it to be far more enjoyable than how most people do so-called Personal Horror.

Now, a mix of Action Horror, Poltiics, and well-executed Personal Horror (well-executed being the key word here) could actually make for an awesome VTM game.

One of my core setting hacks, in addition to removing the metaplot and the two more problematic gamelines (Demon: The Fallen and Kindred of the East) and...

It is a well-known fact that I utterly detest the Humanity mechanic in Masquerade (at least the modern setting of it) and I would never enforce it as an ST, or if I did, I would make alterations to it so Vampires can gain Humanity by doing good things as I like the concept of the heroic/anti-heroic vampire and do not like the concept of personal horror as nine times out of ten, it devolves into little more than pretentious supernatural wangst.

But I figured I'd try to constructively contribute to this discussion and give my perspective on Paths vs. Humanity and the Roads in Dark Ages...

I'd love to run a D&D campaign for the people on this forum, either as a play-by-post or over Discord.

Would anyone be interested? If so, which edition? And yes, I will count Pathfinder and OSR games in this as well.

Theoretically speaking, I can do any edition except Fourth.

On an entirely unrelated note, I wonder what all settings are eligible for the DM's Guild?

I've considered submitting some homebrew Ravenloft material for the DM's Guild. I'm pretty sure Ravenloft is eligible.

I had an idea for a Domain inspired by Central...

So, Boot Hill 2E is now Print-on-Demand at DTRPG and I am thinking of buying and going on some Wild West adventures.

I've played Boot Hill 2E online before, and while it is lethal in combat, it is a fun game

I'm thinking of buying a hard copy of the AD&D 1E Monster Manual (I already have the hard copies of the PHB and DMG my Dad gave me) and also a copy of Boot Hill 2E off of DriveThruRPG since they are both now Print On Demand.

The issue is getting a prepaid card that works. I tried buying a prepaid Visa gift card and I registered it online but the card was declined, but I think I either screwed up the registration process prior to attempting the purchase or I need a different type of prepaid card.

Or maybe I should look more closely and buy a proper prepaid credit card...

  • Even though I am a genuine fan of the Ravnos (I avoid the Romani stereotypes though) and generally despise the concepts of the metaplot, I think I might give V5 a chance like I said in my other thread. So, I figured I'd check out the review thread. I am intrigued on how they have changed the mechanics.

If you strip out the metaplot, you could easily do a remake of V1 or early V2.

Heck, once I get my copy of V5, I will probably run an online V5 campaign largely inspired by V1 and using an alternate timeline that generally disregards anything after V1, so Revised and BJD's...

You did, and I appreciate you putting things in perspective and ultimately selling me on getting V5 and trying out the new mechanics.

I think I can get a lot of mileage out of Touchstones....

    V1 Games With V5 Rules?

I've been very skeptical of V5 since the very beginning, all the way back to when it was first announced. And for the longest time, I have been vehemently opposed to it, especially after release. However, I haven't actually read V5 yet and I realize it is unfair to criticize a book I have not read. Maybe I can give V5 a proper chance, and since I am getting paid very soon, I may consider buying a copy of V5.

That being said, I want to run V5 in the classic V1 style. No metaplot and we're turning the clock back from 2018 to 1991, so to speak. Whether that means the game would be an...
