  • im excited! I hope Matt is working on the 2e version of this one, I'd love to see his take on it with the new tools that CofD offers.

One thing I think is doubtful this time around is for children characters to differ mechanically in a super significant fashion in the sense of having different Skills entirely and the like. CofD seems to avoid doing that sort of thing, and it'd probably be good for compatibility anyway.

That's guesswork on my part though. I'm excited to see the result, regardless!

  • I can post the Initiative Ladder in a bit when I have access to my computer (currently on mobile) but I will say that u do think Discord is way better than Skype for voice chat and that my group has moved to Discord from Skype. It's much better.

My sorcerer is the lowliest urchin, and will not settle for anything less than a Working-made Celestial Exaltation.

I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that Burano and Ophris probably do their names the same way that Realm Dragon-Blooded do.

We have no idea, you might want to ask Eric Minton and/or Dex Davican.

Given that there are no hard rules for how behemoths work, that's exactly what I'm talking about, ST fiat.

You might decide the Kitten can't realistically stop that behemoth from moving out of its range band. You might decide the Behemoth is too big to operate in the combat engine at all so the question of disengaging never comes up. You might decide that Behemoths have a trait called Unstoppable Size which makes it so that they don't have to disengage to move out of range of whoever you want.

Or, for some reason, you might decide the Behemoth has to disengage, and thus...

  • Common warstriders don't exist anymore. Noble Warstriders are Artifact 5 (First Age Artifice), Royal Warstriders are Artifact N/A (First Age Artifice)

I think it's enough to say that in Third Edition, each one is functionally priceless, and that no standard reward for offering one could reasonably be imagined, because this is not the kind of occurrence which happens frequently enough to create a standard.

I think you should read and re-read this statement until you grok it.

    [/I]

Movement across range bands is a mechanical conceit which remains constant. Movement in the narrative sense of where characters are is flexible as subject to the whims of players and storytellers. If that narrative movement which does not involve mechanical movement across range bands occurs and confers a concrete advantage upon one character or another, it's a matter of storyteller fiat.

EX: The character faces off against a god-turned-monster in its temple. The character wants to...

Fuck, that was really cool! Drogha sounds phenom. You really nailed that storied way of telling it!

The Silver Pact and all that stuff would definitely come later. I love it!

    Wow!

I don't see a reason to make this assumption. If you assume that she may have, at one point or another in the past, used her sorcerous might to cast great one-off feats of magic which were terrifying in their scope, I could totally see that, though.

I suspect if there's an obsession to do with anything, it would be with initiating into the Solar Circle, which is something distinct from just wanting to cast the spells, y'know? Spells are individually distinct 'things' but in-genre it's less about "I want to learn Wyld-Shaping Technique" and more like "I want to gain...

  • I don't expect the gameline to do it because of spacing reasons, but I'd love to see an interesting, creative writeup for Hekate. The kind that does a good job of mixing up the mythological character with creative reimagining would be fabulous.

  • As far as Third Edition goes, I think quantifying the location of the Underworld relative to Creation in terms of geography is a mistake.

Creation floats on a sea of chaos. The Underworld is elsewhere entirely. As is Malfeas.

This is what overthinking looks like.

    It's not that deep, man.

Also, Vance has to do the dual job of interpreting text he didn't oversee and answering questions as a developer making decisions for the sake of the line. This is probably a good thing to keep in mind when engaging in kremlinology about rules which are explicitly abstracted and require common sense adjudication.

I don't think there's a great need to answer that question.

The sun still chooses those people. His back is still turned to Creation. He exalts, but without the numbers or the sense of purpose that he might have had before. Until that purpose returns along with those sealed away Exaltations.
