You can probably use Profile Character to observe that a character's attire or rout of travel suggests he goes to weekly rallies of the Green Sashes, the satrapy's group of rebel agitators. You can also use Read Intentions to tell that he has a strong sympathy for the ideas of the Green Sashes and discern he has a Major Tie of Respect for them.

The flavor of the information is different there, and they don't quite serve the same purpose, but this is the kind of overlap I imagine to be present between them.

Any significant changes to the relationship between the Deathlords/Abyssals and Nephwracks?

Here's a question: Having not seen the Dragon-Blooded charmset yet, we don't have a perfect picture of how to design spirit charms in terms of how they compare to the high end of the power scale (Solars) and the low-end (Dragon-Blooded), so I've been wondering about certain mechanics like counterattacks and the action economy. I'm sure there is no one size fits all answer, but in general, would you give counterattack charms to spirits in the Essence 1-3 range, or would you save them for more potent or specialized spirits? If spirits on the lower end of the Essence scale possess counterattack charms,...

Your onslaught penalty resets when you act.

Your next turn is when you act next, which is part of what makes onslaught so dangerous. If you knock someone's initiative below your own, you get to act again before their next turn and hit them.

And for those who are uncertain of this:...

So in Third Edition, Solars have some Caste Ability overlap between the Castes, which has been a pretty great thing for the variety of builds and concepts that can be realized within each Caste.

For Dragon-Blooded, do their Aspects have any overlap like that this time around? Or do they have only five Aspect abilities each?

As I was typing this, I realized that Elementally Favored Charms possibly solve this problem too, but I am curious about Aspect Abilities still.

From Prasad's preview, Dex Davican gave some striking description of wyld storms from the Dreaming Sea and the havoc they wreak.

So they cause such havoc that they reshape the coastal terrain sometimes. In addition to mutating things, that's an excellent kind of effect to draw on. I could see one terrible wyld storm washing up, and ripping a city up from the ground, floating it on the sea like an island, while another strikes a city, and with every belt of prismatic lightning, a building disappears, relocating beneath the waves. Another one sends flooding through the...

Hey, do you guys have any thoughts on what kinds of rolls you might make with the Occult Ability that aren't tied to charms, thaumaturgy or spells? I can tell from the description that it has uses outside of the context, I'm just trying to imagine how that might work in practice, and when I can engage my players by doing that.

    Apologies for not responding sooner.

I think I'd probably shoot for a charm to possess the living at that juncture, and just make it difficult to kick the nemissary out, with the obvious option to cede control if it so desires.

All it would need to use is Apparition to actually speak, but it's a fun idea to think about charms to mess with people's heads. I dunno if I'd drop it on the base Nemissary, but I think I'll do that for a variant, maybe!

Exorcists are already pretty valuable, but more things for them...

Ghosts come in a lot of different flavors, and I think this is poor phrasing for the first one.

Sheer single-minded obsession doesn't sound right....

I think the Underworld as a thing which was not a part of the original order of things is sort of ambiguous and what with the lack of analogue to Creation in Third Edition, does seem primed to explore that kind of ambiguity some more. We will see!

But also that the Underworld might have been created by the Neverborn and that being a ghost is not a typical state of affairs in Creation is 100% fine, because it has virtually no bearing on what the actual people who live in the setting believe about ghosts. Maybe Ketchup Carjack in his little tower knows the Underworld for what it is,...

  • I think the gameline's general take is that being able to grant people sorcerous potential on demand is a no-no. En masse and individually. If you want an individual character to have that potential, simply ask your ST and they can decide they can, even if they've not had the chance to act on it.

Cool! One thing I was wondering about, since the Underworld no longer maps cleanly to Creation (except for shadowlands where they're all mxied up) how is the Underworld understood by its inhabitants on the whole? Is there a notion of the "Eastern Underworld" versus the Southern one, or do they not describe these things in terms of Directions?...

Is the Dual Monarchy still a thing?

Does the Lover still make her home in Gradafes, and is it still southeast of Icehome?

  • In most situations, I'd treat having someone assist you as a stunt. Whether it's 1-point or higher depends on the usual sorts of qualities, but I'm more inclined to be wowed by something cool involving two characters.

I think as noted, contextual elements of different situations can also demonstrate teamwork, such as attacking the same target, onslaught penalties, gambits et al. in combat.

In some cases where the difficulty of an action is not static, I might choose to lower the difficulty of a check by -1 to reflect how teamwork makes it easier to successfully accomplish...

According to a friend, someone typo'd Vodka on one of the old WW forums as Vodak, and people on the forums ran with the joke, describing how that beast Vodak must be a horrible monster, and then the writer of the Gethamane section decided to name the fella beneath the city in honor of that inside joke....

I saw shard used in reference to an Exaltation in a sidebar in Bastions of the North so I don't know if it was totally a fanon term.

Of course, maybe the fandom started using it before Bastions came out? I heard the story of how Vodak got named too, and I wouldn't put it past Bastions to have imported that.
