    I think the violence amps up once everybody's on the same page in this regard:

    Politics is violent in Vampire.

    Not all the time.

    Deals do get done at a table. But whenever push comes to shove, and there's a lot of shoving in Vampire, there's no replacement for good ol' fashioned violence. In the words of Theodore Roosevelt: "speak softly and carry a big stick."

    I can't imagine any ruler staying in power for long without potent martial capabilities backing them up (whether personally or through a loyal sheriff, hounds, and a battalion...

    When creating NPCs, make sure they're all at different levels to your PCs. You want incompetent NPCs to act as foils, middling NPCs to act as peers, and more powerful NPCs to act as heavy-hitters.

  • It's definitely got a lot of plot-hooks for a Storyteller to work with.

    In the spirit of Da Vince Code, it could be interesting if the character was in a trusted and powerful position, too. Rather secretive about his doubts in his faith for the sake of political advancement within the Lance et Sanctum....

  • I like the idea of your character; however, bare in mind that your character's belief that vampirism has no divine purpose should be considered downright blasphemous in the eyes of his peers. It's not something they can publicly espouse without gaining a huge target on their head....
