  • Since most of the discussion of powers to compare to previous editions, I'll leave my comparison to the same; the difference between V5 and others is too stark, it's practically discussing two different games systems.
If others have been discussing V5 and I assumed it wasn't, sorry. But my argument has been all pre-V5

Why I would - General health worries disappear, the correct diet becomes infinitely simpler, and the powers/Immortality would be awesome
The downside/delay - getting regular income on nights only can be a pain unless you can monetize your new Vampiric Powers. Watching my Son grow up from nights only would suck, mostly he's asleep when the sun's down...

  • Yes, you can stack disciplines up to 5 technically at character creation if the ST allows it. (In most editions, The newer Larp starts you with 2 in one and 1 in the other 2 by default before XP spend and no Freebies)

But you still can't do everything that the mortals can do with tools. Even with a 20 year "Training process" building up disciplines, I'd bet that 20 years of military and survivalist training for a mortal would win out!

  • A 5th Gen rare bloodline with level 5 in multiple disciplines isn't possible for a PC. It is much much closer to an Antidiluvian than anything Playable without generously feeding Diablerie Fodder to the PCs by an ST.

BUT my more important point - How much XP are you sinking in to this hypothetical Vampire to make them able to do the same things that most of humanity in the industrialized world can do?
A couple of levels of crafts maybe; a level of drive, a level of computer. Resources 2 or more to buy what you need, and some skill that you use for your income? Even giving them...

  • Since the Society of Leopold was name dropped as being a part of the Second Inquisition, they are aware of Mages, Demons, Werewolves, Spirits, Ghosts and "Other"
However, the Inquisition has always really had a bigger focus on targeting Vampires than the other splats.
They've currently got semi-supernatural-tech to spot Vampires based on their Vitae (Picking out generation and Clan of a target) so it's within reason that they could pick out Garou in a crowd, possibly even through some gifts. Or spotting the flow of Quintessence around a Mage/Glamour around Fae.

  • While they are a "Bloodline" according to the section that they're in, "Strictly speaking, the Children of Osiris are a Sect, rather than a bloodline. They do not (and, by virtue of their own laws, cannot) join the Sabbat or the Camarilla."
They Gain Bardo as an additional In clan, but have no additional weakness in V20 Modern...
Whereas in Dark ages they have 2 from original clan Plus Bardo and have the original weakness Plus can't embrace in Dark ages....

  • It's a little contradictory so far in some areas and very vague in other, but a book will be coming out with more details.
They have only depicted attacks on Vampires and Vampire related details. But they've also only appeared in a Vampire book (Since there isn't anything else out yet) The big targets were Vampire related, but would it really be mentioned if some cairns were bulldozed if it didn't affect the Vampires? Probably not. But maybe there are targets that Vampire would take note of, but they haven't locked in what's happening in the Werewolf/Mage world enough to write it in a Vampire...

  • I don't think it's ever explicitly stated.
From the perspective of only using the Vampire Splat; I'd say yes; Infernalism deals with demons who are fallen angels.
For a cross-Splat including Demon:The Fallen - No, It doesn't quite fit, Neither the Fallen or Earthbound operate like that; And a Vampire's soul is useless, so they wouldn't trade anything for it.

  • Why should it to everyone in the same chronicle.
Vampires who live a hundred years and have seen everyone they knew die would think of death differently, and mortals too. Vampires embraced in to a clan that operates more like a cult (Setites/Assamites) or raised by a family with different morals, telling you what is normal is different (Giovanni) or even a clan that picks those that don't fit their world frame to the norm (often Lasombra) shouldn't have to thing that the same things are right and wrong.

Even look at Mortals and eliminate the supernatural completely.

  • Realistically, the sunlight thing also decreases your time to act in a day, Humans on average need 8 hrs rest, but to keep out of sunlight a Vampire needs around 10-14 depending on time of the year.
"Farming" a regular food supply is more difficult for a vampire in the "Wild"
Long term food storage is more feasible for Humans, although a Vampire could go a longer time without "eating" Humans can store dead food for months and dead food is useless for most vampires, certainly those with a tendency for Protean.
Cooperation and close living is a lot...

  • Humans can create tools out of nature; I actually love watching Primative Technology where there only advanced technology is the camera recording his exploits.

But Most Vampires can't rely on specific Disciplines, the Gangrel are well suited due to Protean, but that's still a very pointy build to get Protean 4 at character creation to allow you to "transform into a wild predator"
Really; Disciplines are just tools that the Vampires have developed that are internal. Without them Vampires are even more lost than...

  • I agree that technology has forced the world in to compliance, because tools have made us the STRONGEST Primate because of our adaptability, Earth melding is great until there's only stone around, knowing how to make a sunproof shelter is better. Claws are awesome, but tools for range and pits to trap dangerous prey help even more.

Vicissitude can help you perform some tasks better, but usually by making more tasks harder or some tasks impossible (For Significant Changes; not that character sheets technically show that, so I suppose it's not a RAW interpretation)...

  • Bluecho - Yes, it makes sense that with too many physical or non-physical traits stacking up that the Social Stats drop. My Point is that it becomes much too severe if played out combine rules as written and taking in to consideration how prolific the trigger situation actually is.
It also doesn't seem to have been adhered to by the design team when considering the stats of their elder Gangrel...

  • I honestly don't think that Paradox will touch it for a log time, if ever.
Vampire Dark ages doesn't have the cross-splat appeal for cross overs that they'd want for their videogame/tv lines tie-ins.

Hopefully Onyx Path could continue V20 Dark ages or use the ideas that they had for the original V5 (or V V) and work for a new edition of Dark ages. But the systems have been traditionally different enough to be incompatible. Hopefully it'll be the same going forward.

  • Double points for being Vulgar too!

It does emphasize the Sabbat's Trans-humanism or Trans-Vampirism core belief; if you're wanting to prove you're better than human, you probably want to look (not-human) as you're preaching that.
I personally believe that the human form is pretty well optimized for the world we live in (Or more specifically, the world is optimized for our form) so changes from the standard humanoid is generally disadvantageous for the versatility of night to night life....

Seneschal is in the Dark Ages Vampire books (Including V20 Dark Ages)

We've had rolls to cover provisioning armies and getting high volumes of generic items, like outfitting a peasant levy with armour or weapons, organizing travel across long distances including making sure that inns would have room and provisions when you pass through....

  • Steel fur is Glass walkers
Lunas armor - Child of Gaia, Silver Fang and Shadow Lord.

But, less likely to buy steel for out of tribe, it gives a social penalty toward non Glass walkers, and it gives a Dex penalty
It has the advantage of not needing Gnosis, but also .. Does Luna's armor still have the requirement of having the moon visible to activate?
