When did the Malkavians become "mentally Ill"? since the books represented their clan drawback/weakness as mostly real mental diagnoses, with only a few vampire or supernatural specific ones (Like sanguinary Animism)

I can agree with what you say in this post at least; it can be solved by divorcing Malkavians from real mental illness. But that's not where the game is at in general. It's a good Houserule, but not canon. I actually like the way the Clan Bane works with V5 because it's a trigger that has a mechanical penalty; All Malkavians are reliably affected in similar...

The old Flaw: Methuselah's thirst aside; it's only with the significant change to Vampires with the new edition where that becomes as significant a difference, that every other vampire is likely to have to ween themselves off animal blood/ have the increased interaction issues that an increased "Hunger" value brings (Especially once the baseline gets to 2 without killing someone)

They have always been more versatile and adaptable because they were closer to human, but the new system really increases the gaps.
It is a reason I like Thin bloods; an elder...

  • Thank you for the update, it is handy for Ventrue, but is a very late addition (in the scheme of book releases) supplanting merits that do the same. It feels a little wierd.
I have V20 Lore of the Clans, but haven't read it cover to cover yet.

*Edit - Having now read the section, it is in-game narration from an "AMA" style interview.
I'm going to go back and say that there is no mechanical details printed that say all Ventrue will sense their prey.
That Blue blood could have the merit, could be lying, could be dominated in to believing it before they were...

  • Answered backwards; Most addicts and recovering addicts describe themselves as such. They are still addicts, they just haven't indulged in a while, so yes.

I'd say it's gambling, but an elder Ventrue may not consider it gambling, so it may not count for an elder, but would for a neonate...
However, MOST ventrue don't have a vague sense of their prey. There have been merits that allow for it though

  • I like the Thinbloods because they show the divide between Elder Vampires and neonates the best, because they are so close to being part human.
The Caitiff have been interesting because of the ability to spawn new disciplines (or other clan's disciplines without tasting their blood) and the new Thinblood alchemy fits perfectly with that aspect.

I have a feeling that the Thin Bloods will be a viable, if small, faction to present a threat against the Camarilla; their versatility and the ability for many of their number to be "Day Walkers" are great assets against Stagnant...

  • Bored and Listless, but ambitions and loves the Jyhad - I have a word for you - Obsession.
It seems that the only thing keeping Alix out of age torpor at this point is the excitement of Jyhad. I would try to portray Alix as flat rather than mopey; getting excited when planning and dealing with actions related to whatever Jyhad plans she has herself.

She is almost certainly training up Kitty to be able to manage her affairs if she ends up in torpor, so have a PC tag along on that; a very boring dry series of meetings confirming things are in place and discussing what she wants...

  • There is no Halo merit in Dark ages 20 or it's companion.
It doesn't appear with a different name in the merits either

  • In a game way - Garou get way more XP that they can decide to spend on Str, with the excuse of being in combat all the time' using their strength.

In a physiology sense, it is just as possible that the "regenerating" factor, instead of healing factor, takes those muscles back to the state they were in before the (damage of) exercise/working out as they could help to grow muscle mass.

Ironically, the reason that I loved 4th Ed D&D, each of the classes felt different and had their realm, but for access to special stuff and balance for combat, it was pretty on par for everyone.

That being said, what Pentex is good for is increasing the corruption between the network of subsidiaries; having the conglomeration to charge each other and the like. I Guarantee that no subsidiary of Pentex pays taxes to the countries they operate in, probably claiming Tax credits instead for many of them.

They also need the resources for R&D projects that you couldn't create without mega-billions if not trillions of dollars backing you; Without high level control, you couldn't create werewolf specific weapons, the completely unethical experimentation that doesn't get leaked,...

No One of Consequence has a great thread on Pentex companies, but the overarching theme is honestly, Pentex doesn't need to be trying to mess up the environment, most normal practices and non-supernatural corruption do that well enough as it is.

I'm not to sure about travel where you are but I don't see 40Kms/ 25miles as super far when driving for a rare trip. The St that runs the 2 games I'm in drives 30Km/18.5 Miles for the game. Sure his work is in the middle, but he's doing the 30kms after a full day of work and then 4 hour game.

*edit* - you could always buy online, or support your store by buying books through them and asking if they will post to you...

*Koldunism rituals can work a little differently in V20 with "Kraina" compared to regular Thaum/ Previous editions of Koldunic "Ways"

The rituals can have a requirement of a Kraina level, not just your skill at Koldunism, jsut as though a Tremere ritual said you needed Path of Blood 4, not just "Thaumaturgy" 5. The rituals also work a lot differently, like appeasing a spirit of the land to get an ongoing benefit, not just a once off result.

    It depends on the edition.

You'd best look at the books. Repeating wholesale rules can be a copyright issue...

  • His response could still have been due to a botch, character having put lots of XP into the skills/Willpower that form the difficulty. It's not purely external as options.
