  • Why?
It was interesting, and it was different to what I've seen in so much media. The "Ministry" direction is boring....

  • Lets start on calling them Kindred instead of Cainite, to eliminate the Caine connection, get rid of that issue of connection to the Abrahamic Religions.

An In depth suppliment that looks at varying parts of "Asian Vampires" (Which, poulation wise would be; 60% of the world if matched with mortal population) could work out really well for the players as well as WhiteWolf/Paradox. Imagine writers addressing the Vampiric or similar folk lore from their own cultures, have over a dozen new "Clans" maybe with their own disciplines and how the existing clans and bloodlines...

  • I think that the more difficult thing is the trust that a player needs to have in their ST that the answers will satisfy. And that is difficult if the ST Makes it up or chooses it. If it's in the book you can blame the book, if the ST chooses something you aren't satisfied with, that could affect the relationship.
Also, if you make a character expecting certain things or connections to exist and it's changed, that can be disappointing; even if you didn't realize those expectations were there in creating the character....

  • Seeing as I have played the TC storyline through in a few different games - First story is set in 1197 - Plays through to 1997, so all of them at least 800 years old.
Oldest probably 900-950 because he was a mage pre-embrace.

He was Tzimesce Voivoide and eventually Koldun, Regent of the Sabbat for a term in the 1700s, (Also pretending to be a Nosferatu prince of a city in Hungary, just to keep tabs on the Camarilla)
Survived to Modern day through a Gehenna (Before the Gehenna book was published) Turning into a mortal. Ended as a Translator (and power broker) in the UN...

  • Numerous clans/bloodline explicitly don't descend from Caine of the Abrahamic Religions. Tremere and Nagaraja self-embraced,
Setites argue the point, Impundulu state they were self created, sort of.

Individuals in the world even argue the use of "Cainite" instead of "Kindred" because it implies Caine (Camarilla as a whole try consider that theory heresy)

I'm pretty sure that Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom in general deny the caine-myth, Drowned legacies will probably (when put in enough detail) There would be no in game or out of game problem...

It's more reading the information as presented. Change to the form has always been a Viscisitude thing (Could be a bloodline of Toreador)

There could be stories to be made for those that have the implants removed de to the embrace as flaws, but you'd have to be real, real careful it didn't come across as mocking disabilities.
Andrew (https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Andrew_Emory) Is a decent example of a disabled character with a good backstory and story, it doesn't feel exploitative.

There is the flaw: Permanent Wound, that you heal nightly, but it reforms during your day sleep; I've not seen it for limbs or the like.

While CTPhipps description is interesting, it comes from a novel that isn't a White Wolf book. Great for inspiration, but lousy for official ruling.

I think that the content produced, including flaws stating that the form isn't perfected by the embrace, leads us naturally to say that prosthetics would be in the body as per what it was like at the embrace.
Damage to prosthesis would be problematic, as without magic; a missing...

    I like the idea.
If they have humanity, they aren't a wight. If they aren't a wight, they can buy up humanity. If they buy up humanity, they aren't a wight. It'd make a great story arc to redeem a PC or powerful Wight NPC.

If it doesn't work as above, then you are giving a wight humanity and guilt when breaking the tenents, the start of self awareness in the wight rather than acting purely on bestial instinct....

  • A False Dilemma is a fallacy where someone is trying to get you to agree with the either or option because one is outright horrible so they want you to pick the other.
I have no interest in forcing one or the other.
It also requires there to be no other option.
Unlike a statement such as - "Everything is either a potato, or not a potato" - where all options fall in to the two.

My Retort - Argumentum ad lapidem - Dismissing a statement as absurd without providing proof of it's absurdity,.

  • And in many aspects, that is a Caitiff. Maybe not as far as the character sheet says, but certainly as far as the courts recognize

So what do you see as a solution that doesn't have stereotypes at all?
How can we have that without being free form?...

  • Having Stereoypes isn't the same as everyone being the same,
A "collection of somewhat sort of similar people with a few things in common" is literally where the stereotype beings, around those things that they have in common. And of course PCs and NPCs can vary from the stereotype, I'd expect a number of them to, having all members of a clan being homogeneous is unrealistic and very very boring (Except Blood brothers, because they are different in their uniformity)

BUT without a stereotype, you can't break the mold. You don't have a theme for the clan's actions and...

  • Is the damage soaked as though agg or is it actually agg? If it's actually agg, then a stake to the heart would be death instead of paralysis, Buffy time!...

  • You could put it on armour, or a shield, to stop the creature in question from wanting to approach you. But everyone of the target (species?) would notice you when nearby.

Also, while it isn't explicit in the rules, we tend to prevent stacking of rituals and charms on an item - even if ward vs Vampires could work (And if it can be inscribed, it would stop them picking up your sword, maybe even trying to disarm you - just not extra damage), it wouldn't be able to have two enchantments on the same weapon/item....

  • If there isn't a stereotype, or guidelines for why clans embrace certain people, then what's the point of having differing clans in the system?
Just Freeform the power set selections, choose your own disciplines....

  • It does tend to, which is why I try to specify Hermetic when talking about the Tremere as a whole.

Yes it'll do damage (According to Wraith Rules) but not explicitly in Vampire rules, so it depends on what the ST wants to run....

  • There is no HERMETIC Thaumaturgy that deals with it.
Necromancy and Thaumaturgy always had the feeling of being two sides of a coin, never to cross over their influence..

The Telyavelic Tremere have Sielanic paths which bridge the two
Path of the World's Blood and Path of the Shadow World.

    ***Shadow World***
1 - See spirits of the dead
    2 - Ward against wraiths
    3 - Command Ghosts
    4 - Summon Ghostly Warriors
5 - Cross into the Underworld

It ties into the pagan faith of them and is not compatable with the Thaumaturgy...
