  • I don't believe it does. The GMC rules specifically say "The unmodified Attribute + Skill + Specialty (if any) determines the maximum number of dice rolls allowed before the action fails"

The exception being if said dread power raises their attribute, skill, etc, in which case it raises the Attribute + Skill + Specialty, increasing the number of tries they get....

  • Well yeah. That is kinda a hunter's job you know :P.

Really though it depends on the Hunter organization and cell. If the group in question believes that the monster is unfeeling and only pretends to have friends/family to blend in, then there isn't much point in going after them. Likewise if their goals don't really benefit messing with them, they would also get left alone. Say an Ashwood Abbey cell screwing around with a monster for fun wouldn't get much from kidnapping his family, unless they though it would be hilarious to use them as bait. Since most hunter orgs are fairly pragmatic...

    You had it pretty close.

Hurt locker: Defence = Gun size +1

Default: Defence increases by gun size *-1*, can use defence as normal.

In this case default generally works smoother for what you want to do. The hurt locker rules have some funny glitches, like your sneaky ninja character having the same Defence as an infirm old lady, and that infirm old lady actually having a higher defence than she would normally be allowed so long as she is trying to keep the gun out of her face.

You could argue that the CoD rules are trying to say basically the...

That will probably add more to their usefulness more than anything. Some tactics are fairly niche, having them all available to all hunters all the time opens up a lot more tricks (well, assuming you fit the now-looser requirements :V). The extra effects some seem to have will make them a bit stronger, though the dice pools will likely be lower than before....

"It is strongly recommended cells may employ one Tactic once per day or session without penalty. "

Interesting that they are keeping in "Tactical Fatigue" in some form, I'd thought it would get the axe.

Controlled immolation is back, and gives us a good look at how the tactics will probably change. Over all it seems more effective, setting someone on fire is nice but setting them on fire and giving them the Blind tilt can be really helpful for more powerful creatures. Which goes into some of its new weaknesses, this is a contested action now, Stamina+Athletics+Potency,...
