More accurately, I'd say learning to let go of the things from the past that are harmful or holding you back, but also taking the right lessons from the past to build from.

  • I mean, I'm sure there are some simple questions.

Like, "How often can Arisen be summoned between Descents?"* is the sort of question that I could see being asked frequently that has a simple answer.

*The answer is, "Immediately if you have a personal Relic that's recharged since your last Descent began or don't mind destroying spare Relics."

TFA never made it sound like Luke intentionally left a trail of crumbs for people to find him.

Also, Rey's parents were important: to Rey. Her accepting that they were deadbeats and moving on was a big part of her character development....

I think it's interesting how I didn't notice this change. I'd been practically swimming in Star Wars since I was like...8, and with all of the Force Sensitives running around in the Legends material I just sort of took for granted that the Skywalkers weren't the most important family in the galaxy.

I'm really glad that The Last Jedi made sure that everybody knows that now....

Mark Hamill retracted his statements about Luke, and in fact affirmed that they match his own disillusionment and growth. TLJ was a love-letter to the power and inspiration of the original trilogy, its entire narrative throughline is about maintaining hope even in the face of disappointment and the importance of owning up to your own mistakes.

If you're going to call characters out for behaving out-of-character, you should at least see the movie and confirm whether or not you're correct. General Leia was perfectly written and Luke's arc through the film was nothing short of beaut...

I'll disagree with all of those people. And if your crash and burn logic holds up, that means that The Last Jedi was very right, whereas Solo was a terrible choice. Because to be honest, it was a small-scale movie that did dumb stuff like try and have an origin for Solo's friggin' name of all things and it was never destined to make TLJ money. I hear it was forgettably fun though, so at least it wasn't all bad. I'll probably check it out when it hits Netflix....

TLJ was basically a love letter to Star Wars fans and an affirmation that everything we love about the franchise is important and valid. Also hope. Fun characters doing fun things but also having some legit character development made it a great movie, I'm not gonna pay attention to nitpicking.
