C, actually. A Scion of Inari can take Beast (Jaguar) or a Scion of Ama-no-Uzume can take Artistry General rather than (Dancing), AFAIK

Edit: Oh hey a "Next Page" button...

  • You mean you haven't downloaded them as PDFs? You poor bastard.

Marin has the right of it. Top bar, a downward-pointing arrow touching a horizontal line, that'll download it for you....

Assuming you don't have the Manuscript so the snarky answer of "They start on Origins, Page 60" won't help.

Also that question was already answered by Neall, probably in the Ask Neall thread. You can triple-down on your Path Skills, it's just that if it pushes your Skill over 5 you have to move a dot into a different Skill associated with the Path....

  • I believe you can go to Backerkit to pre-order the books and then you'll be able to get the drafts of Origins and Hero that way.

I do love how many Fire-aligned charms give you different ways to immolate someone.

    Essence bolt? You're on fire.

Explosive Dodge, and you're on fire.

Did you try to cheat me in a game of cards? Burn for it!

Huh, this pie tastes like poison. And it has just burst into flame. Guess it was poison after all.

Bleach. Senbonzakura is the sword of one of the characters, and when its Special Power is activated the blade turns into a storm of what looks like cherry petals but are actually a storm of swirling shrapnel under the user's control.

It doesn't have much else going for it, but Bleach does have neat weapons....

I dunno, I've been a lot more lenient on Clark Kent. The guy playing Superman in the recent DC movies apparently once spent hours standing in from of a Dawn of Justice poster, wearing a Superman shirt, and nobody realized he was the current Superman.

This anecdote could in fact fit in not edition settings as a metaphor. Both for how people don't clue in for things trying to keep hidden, and for how people often don't realize what's up with the Denizens who only barely hide their nature.

"Wow, that man was tall." [About a giant]
    "Did you see what that...

So Urban Fantasy doesn't hold up if you think about it but that's okay because it's a genre convention... But if 2e's setting doesn't hold up if you think too hard about it despite the book saying that the big difference is "The gods are real and their religions never went away, and the World is as similar or as different as it needs to be at your table" it doesn't hold up, and it's not something you can ignore at your table because... Um...

Remember, the book outright encourages you to add or embellish as you think fits at your table and on tone. The default for Origin...

This actually got answered on the Discord and I think on the Ask Neall thread... I've been collecting an FAQ here.

But to answer your questions to the best of my ability...

    1) I believe it's assumed you have the contacts in a nebulous sense and you establish them when you Invoke your Path.

    2) Neall clarified this: The dots gained from Invoking a Contact only last until the end of the session. This prevents the Contact from gaining approximately ALL of the Tags on them.

    3) I can only assume the first Once Per Session was a mistake, as there are...

From what I remember of the Prophecy, Magic, or Mystery Purviews... Which isn't much because they were all kind of terrible...

Whichever ones were about blessings and fortune. That rules out Prophecy. IIRC, Mystery is about pulling clues from nothing, so that's a maybe if at all. Perhaps with the very ill-named Magic.

To say nothing of which Epic Attributes Hestia gets. The Epic Socials seem unlikely, as she herself is a very modest wallflower of a Goddess. Perhaps Epic Stamina, maybe one of the Epic Mentals?...

In terms of mechanical use, Arete was probably the best bang for your buck in 1e, overall.

In terms of being exciting or interesting, Arete was terrible. It was probably the dullest Purview of 1e. Even if other Purviews were markedly less useful (Jotenblut, Prophecy) but "More Dice!" is insomnia-curing in how dull it is.

Okay, more dice or rerolls. Very useful, but still dull

Also, Loki's set to fight I think Heimdall to a standstill come Ragnarok, so the dude was never a wimp.

Combined with "Causes Earthquakes through his...

The 1e Magic purview in Hero even mentions "Okay any Scion can fling fire around and fly, sounds pretty magical."

Now if it were me I would have stopped and said "Do we even NEED this Purview?"...

    452. I am to never ever EVER ask an NPC here to defeat us "You and what army?"

452a. That goes double if I'm asking that if a group of Dragonbloods.

  • Gonna go out on a limb and say that that's about as controversial an opinion as "Lunars have been mechanically underwhelming" or "I like to ignore the first three chapters of 2e Infernals"...

  • I always likes the idea that the All-Conquering Colossus shows a bit of personality by encouraging its owner to follow their dreams of romance, without speaking.

Like if you take the field in your Orichalcum Death Walker, and you notice the object of your affections watching from the crowd, the ACC will pause, turn, point at the person in question, and flex... And during the fight will feel just SLIGHTLY lighter and more agile when you control it.

No mechanical benefit, but enough to help the rider stunt a bit more while showing off....

Huh. From the Elemental Bolt, it looks like the innate Elemental Bolt Charm doesn't let a bunch of Dragonbloods supercharge a Sentai Finishing Move.

That may be something done between Sworn Kinships?
