Hm, that is an odd thing to write out. It may be artifact text. I think I hear that there may have been a now-cut action or Stunt you could use that gave you Enhancement in response to being threatened.

If I were to rewrite it, I'd probably have the Boon in question give Enhancement 3 to Intimidation social actions, in addition to being heard out really far.

Well there are several Gods who probably wouldn't see anything wrong with social stratification and the like. Like, the Anunna of Mesopotamia would say that better people deserve to live better, but they're a bit old-fashioned.

The Tuatha de would probably take exception to Musk, though, because well... The fuck does HE do? Throw money at things and make dumb posts on Twitter? What's his Art? What did he study? Does he build things? Does he have a sense of poetry or satire? Is he a warrior? He's... None of those things. Mm-hm.

I think the reason Elon fits in with so few...

I knew about Hephaestus's robotic automatons. That's why I said he'd probably be a God of Tech.

And why I was saying I couldn't recall offhandedly Prometheus having anything really... Tech-related to him? He showed humans this Fire thing, but like, that's not even because he himself understood Fire innately in any symbolic way. He just swiped it and read humanity the instruction manual....

I dunno, who's a corrupt figure who represents the worst of capitalism? Musk doesn't know shit about technology and electronics.

Hell, he didn't even actually found Tesla. He bought it from the actual founders, and part of the purchase contract included giving him rights to call himself the Founderr.

    Maybe a Fomorian, or Mammon?...

And then he got chained to a rock until Herakles shows up to save him, doing a whole lot of Not-Tech-Related Stuff.

I figure it wasn't a deliberate power of Salem's, she just knows Something about Silver Eyes. Like "They can't be used if you're in a depressive breakdown", given how you seem to activate them. Salem, in game terms, wouldn't be using a Charm or magic effect to go "I negate your Silver Eyes", just using words and psychology to put Ruby in a state of mind where she can't activate her Silver Eyes.

My rule of thumb is "If it's aimed at you, it's not an environmental hazard"

With your example, poison gas and maybe artillery shrapnel would count as environmental, as they're blasted over an indiscriminate area. If a sniper notices you and tries to take you out, that's not environmental. I personally would also rule that stray fire from smaller guns wouldn't count as an environmental hazard.

Yeah but Prometheus isn't really... Tech-y? Like he gets conflated with fire a lot but really, he doesn't have a lot of metaphorical fire associations. He was the Titan of Foresight, his biggest deed was grabbing fire from Heaven and giving it to people....

Something I've been saying the entire volume is "James Ironwood is a good man, who will doom us all"

    Y'know, that, but ESPECIALLY so.

Prometheus used his powers of Foresight to predict the internet. He's not a Titan related to the Internet, except for one thing.

You know the primal need to post 'first' on anything with a comment section? He started that. And now it echoes....

Now that's a mindset I feel is holding the Tabletop hobby back and can quite kindly go and die in a fire.

Say what you will about Critical Role setting high expectations among new D&D players, at least Matt isn't trying to slaughter the PCs every chance he gets and everyone is having fun....

No offense to Stephenson, but if Athena is God of Technology what does that make Hephaestus? You know, the actual Greek God of building things and the like?

But yes, this kind of overlap is exactly why i said "Having a singular God of the Internet is looking at it the wrong way"...

Definitely looking forward to Crucible of Legend! Should be pretty useful.

That and Exalted Essence, definitely excited about that.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA oh wow... Wow... Poor choice of words, wow... Woooooow... Having run a game of Ex3, yeah, no, I never felt like the rules were light. In any sense.

But you are right that the corebook is seriously lacking in a section on how to run a game. Which is one of my bigger complaints about the corebook: There are rules I was able to use for social stuff, for combat, for things that Players would need to do... But in advice on how to, say, build some antagonists, it was a big fat "I dunno, figure it out. What am I, a rulebook?"...

Eh, if the character manages to get a pin down, I'd set it to difficulty 0. Makes for good team combos....

See, I didn't read that as "Deny their Defense ROLL" because it doesn't say roll. I read that as "The pinned target's defense is zero", because you're denying them the ability to Defend. Because they're pinned.

Also, antagonists in Scion don't get defense rolls. So there's that.

Yeah, go with that. There's a sidebar about using Antagonist dice pools for Stunts that have a Difficulty equal to a Skill or Attribute that involves taking a dice pool and halving it, then rounding up in one of two directions, but I think those are marked for errata to just give all those Stunts a static difficulty anyway....

I think when rounding dot values it's almost always rounded up.
