  • Moonstone isn't a big fan of sharing his nightmares and anxieties, but with two strapping Mastigos men with him, it feels safer. Seeing Binder watch and Spade casually walk around inside his terror-dream is surreal. But once the Alux-idea is bound and gagged, he can appreciate the absurdity of it.

"I feel different already. Just knowing this is possible is so liberating! I can conquer my own mind!

Knowing that it's a lucid dream, he conjures Pandemonium's iron chains to wrap around the embodied Fear, then shatters them with a wave of his hand, makes them into a dog...

  • Earth shakes. Weird ritual, but she likes it. Physical communication instead of words feels right.

"We've been dealing with our own stuff. Humans started calling me Darkstorm after I vented in the North End for a few weeks, and I went along with it. People have called me all kinds of things. I think it says more about the namer than the Named. Like, I guess Darkstorm is a thunderbird wearing a human mask? I dunno where they got that. Have you ever met a thunderbird?"

"I've been thinking I wanna hang up that name. I've emptied out all my Pandorans into the

  • Sorry for not replying quicker, and thanks for writing out that nightmare-binding scene! I'd been looking forward to it. I'd like to dive back into things, especially because I actually live in the area we're playing in now. BTW, if anyone was wondering, there's no spatial warp in the Cloud Gate IRL (although I didn't check with Mage Sight).

Thanks for checking, but there's nothing bugging me OOC about Valentine or anything, I'm generally in a lighter and better mood lately. I'll roll with whatever!...

  • Couple thoughts:
    • To the Flame isn't very good, IMO. There's nothing actively bad, just not much there. Consider adapting this as a side story during another section, maybe during To the Wastes.
    • Water of Life introduces an alchemist as a recurring character, who now have official stats in 2E. You may want to update his stats and decide whether he has any connections to the official alchemist groups in 2E.
    • A Sheltering Storm is heavily based on the way Wastelands work in 1E, namely that they form automatically whereas they can be avoided in 2E. It's not a huge issue, but maybe come up with

  • Your average game isn't going to do scenes in Arcadia, no. You can go back there during play, but it's meant to be like a major big deal, a once-in-a-campaign thing. You're not expected to be going back and forth. The 1st edition sourcebook Equinox Road has rules for actually physically returning to Arcadia and running a story there, though.

Earth has been noticeably more chill for the last couple days. It's weird, even to her. But at least no one's been electrocuted!

She came with the rest of the throng, but she's been sitting and watching more than talking. Seeing Satin sparks her interest enough to head over. "You're looking witchier than ever. How's the ghost...

  • I'm 100% sympathetic to the reasons why the previous developer left, but looking only at the game design side, I didn't love most of the material that was previewed over the last couple years. I'm actually pretty excited to see a different take from another team!

Maybe take another look at Spirit. If you dive into the 1E books, especially Summoners and Intruders, they seem pretty set on the idea that Spirit is what you use to affect ephemeral entities in general, even Abyssals.

Pattern scouring again for +3 Mana and -1 Strength until tomorrow. We gotta get a Hallow.

Moonstone shows up with dark circles under his eyes, barely concealed with makeup. But he puts on a smile as soon as Binder asks for help. As a servant, requests when he walks through the door are second nature. "For a friend, anything. My eyes are...

As the monsters burn, but before any witnesses come, Earth sits silently next to the flames with Mark 5. She lifts her hand, fires her Alembic, and soothing silver lightning crackles out to him like a Tesla coil.

Putting 1 Pyros into Imperatus, then spending 2 Pyros to heal Mark 5 with Lightning

You're coming at it from the wrong angle- the issue is that Spirit tricks require more active engagement and creativity from the ST at the table, compared to a spell that just accomplishes whatever effect with just the player stating their intent and a single roll. IE, Spirit spells in practice involve lots of mother-may-i about "is there a fire spirit here? what numina does the spirit have?"...

Hey, that's not a bad idea. Earth scrambles after the big guy, clutches a sharp branch of burning brush with her bare hands, feels her flesh bubble and her spirit stir, and hurls the makeshift javelin at the newborn.

3 aggravated damage and +3 Pyros.

For a second there, she hoped the Titan had overpowered the thing with raw strength. But as always, hope is a mistake. She tagged the creature too late to keep it from undergoing division, and now there was a fresh one in a hunger frenzy. And with such beautiful eyes.

At least Mark 5 got the message, finally. She'd...

  • I'm sweatin' here. The Pandoran stat table is honestly kind of absurd, especially at Rank 3+, to the point where it could've used an editing pass IMO. Not healing was a very consequential choice by Mark 5!

Spark explicitly ignores Defense because it's a gun, and Defense didn't apply to the grapple roll. But while the main creature is Stunned, it has half Defense (so 3?)

Arcanist can I use Spark (or AoE Shock) to ignite some loose wood and create a small fire to use with Moth to the Flame? Would there be like a called shot penalty?

It's not a vision, a memory, or a horrible dream: Mark 5 is getting eaten. But as long as he's wrestling the thing into submission, she might as well take her shot. Earth shocks the thorny mass again, and hopefully not her throngmate.

I forgot that I'd optimized Earth for fighting Pandorans, let's try a bigger
