  • IMO, the Guardians are specifically concerned about phenomena like Dissonance and Paradox erasing Supernal magic from the world. They might be thrilled to find a practitioner of vernacular "this world" magic in the Labyrinth, creating a spiritual dead end for seekers who would be satisfied with the base lead of immortality and creating life, rather than escaping the Fallen World.

  • I don't know about that. Time and Fate both have spells that alter the basics of spellcasting, this doesn't seem any more complex than Hung Spell. Spellcasting is a core part of the Mage template, I think there's some room for other Arcana to interact with it directly....

    While Earth's body recovers, they spend a while talking about things with Satin that are probably not as interesting to read as they are to discuss. Very little is learned about being a Hermit, but much about being a companion. The Solstice Ramble turned out okay in the end.

  • All of the 1E Order books (except maybe Free Council) have a section on how they interact with other supernaturals, but they're heavy on that nWoD crossover thing where it doesn't actually say anything more substantive than "sometimes they hang out, but it's a very bad idea and you shouldn't do it." I think most of the mechanical side of Mage crossover happens in other gameline books. Like the Promethean book Pandora's Book has rules for Mages interacting with Flux.

    In my games, I treat Mage Sight of all types as not being useful for understanding Abyssal stuff, unless you've got some kind of weird power like the Abyss Sight from Grimoire of Grimoires, or a Legacy Attainment. As you said, it makes things exciting when the PCs' go-to tool doesn't work and they need to use other avenues.

    I do let them gain information on specific phenomena by using spellcasting. Like "Know Spirit" mostly works on manifested Gulmoth, (although it might make you Resonant), and the basic traits of an Abyssal computer virus or Environmental Tilt could be...
