  • Yeah. The very first Extempore back in 1E had as his specific gimmick that he would always somehow come back from death unless immersed in water, and if your PC centers around Revivification already, you've got a great excuse to come back somehow. Maybe he thought that he needed his heart, because Osirans do, and now he learns that it's different for him. The rules justification is that Extempore explicitly don't follow the rules other Created do, which raises them up but also makes them more alone. What else has he been assuming about himself that he'll have to reconsider now?

  • I would love to see any and all photos! It'd be a step above the respected historical text Assassin's Creed for Florentine knowledge.

Thinking of Quasimodo-esque characters, here's a really great video of an actor performing that part in sign language with voice provided by another actor, which made me think of the puppet: https://mobile.twitter.com/chrisdcle...44981051056129

I like the idea that when the puppet uses Distillations to speak out loud, ou just borrows the voice of someone nearby rather than having a consistent one of ous own, not unlike an Unchained...

For 2, all I can say is that WoD games are notorious for doing this, too. People who aren't immersed in WoD vocabulary are always rolling their eyes at all the Special Capitalized Words: Embrace, Freehold, Vitae, Ensorcelled, Coterie, endlessly with every new game. The advantage of new words is that they might bring up new images for people playing the game. You're not "losing HP" or "being damaged," you're getting Hurt, and you just visually moved a few slices of pie chart closer to dying. Characters in Apocalypse World aren't defined by their Wisdom or Constitution or Dexterity,...

  • The World of Darkness IP owners don't have a monopoly on the concept of modern day fae stories, but if you think your story is similar enough to the licensed Changeling setting that you have to ask, you're starting on shaky ground. Especially because the Knights of the Red Branch are already part of the Changeling setting.

Out of curiosity, if your YA series gets adapted into movies or TV, do you have any ideas on who you'd like to cast?...

  • The 1E book Pandora's Book has a chapter on the qashmallim and the Principle, but it's more like "here is what it would be like if one of these 3 or 4 things were true" than a single definite statement. I remember reading one of the devs saying of 2E "some of us write with the assumption that the Principle is the creator God, some of us write it as a mindless emergent property of the Divine Fire, some of us write it as a conscious being actively trying to achieve some kind of New Dawn of its own," which I take to mean that there is not a canon answer that there could be hints...
