When you get right down do it who says that Nippon isn't still harboring them?

I think you've missed the point of my question. I don't care about the Superiors. They're a reproducible known quantity - artificial Stalwarts of such low Quantum that they still count as having a Psi of 1. They can even use Biotech. Most won't, but they could.

My question was about the 17%. Aeon Aexpansion never flat-out states that they become Talents, just something other than baseline in some way. Maybe they do become Talents, but if they don't, what do they become?...

That's true and I just re-read that section from Aeon Aexpansion:

For my part I took that to mean that they'd become Talents. If that's not true, then what have they become - at least in terms of the game?

It's likely that the Doyen don't know (or care) that Superiors exist. Nippon is both paranoid and Psi-hostile. They completely reject biotech as "alien technology." It's quite possible that the Doyen have dismissed Nippon as irrelevant.

On the other hand, the Nippon retrovirus would give them an excellent way to "neuter"...

I need to re-read that section. Again. I pretty much looked at that as artificial Talents given that the two results of the Nakamura process were either a Superior or a "failure" which was in truth a Talent....

  • My campaign will be a weird, given that it's starting in the Nippon arcology, but one of the characters is a young Suburan Psiad (Primary Apt: Telepathy and Vitakinesis) who manifested at an early age but suppressed her abilities after she received the retrovirus (she expressed too much interest in using psionics to cure Taint diseases like the one that eventually killed her grandmother). Now as a nursing student, her abilities have reawakened.

She's a weird one and I had to stretch things a bit for the player, but I liked the result. Her Origin is Suburban, her Role is Medical...

  • Figure equipment is going to be a little irrelevant here. The "equipment" will be the big-ass military ships the psuedo-PCs are commanding against the Aberrant and its followers.

All the OP needs to do is come up with the skills/attributes that the psuedo-PCs (the temporary characters the players will portray in this initial fight). In some ways using the NPC Threat idea would work better but it's also a good idea ti get the players familiar with the system that they'll be using.

So, go halfway instead. Provide Attributes and applicable skills and/or Edges...

  • I'm with Bunyip on this one. Just cobble together some very basic templates for the players to use and go at it that way. Get them familiar with the rules that they'll be using - not the ones you'll be using.

Unless they're doing a Skynet and are actually existing in the future sending agents/messages to the past to "create" the timeline in which they exist....

Dreaminggod is already doing something like this, but how about Trinity: Antediluvian? Basically a full-on Atlantis/Ancient Alien mish-mash of advance prehistorical civilizations including Novas, Psiads and Talents.

Also maybe pre-colonial First Nations of North and South America....

What is the nature/plot of your adventure and the importance of this scene? I'm assuming that the players' characters arent going to be the actual commanders of these ships in your game. Are their characters on the ships? Will the Aberrant likely get away and be their nemesis later (or perhaps the attack is cover to allow a different Aberrant to get to Earth)? Something completely different? It's a pretty cool scene and I'm curious as to how it relates to your adventure as a whole....

  • If you have access to it, you might consider importing but renaming/re-purposing some of the Boons and Immortal Knacks from Scion: Hero as "Tier III" Gifts.

  • The thing I remember from the previous version of Trinity is that Appearance was kind of... disposal. There was a 3 point physical Flaw called "Disfigured" which lowered your base Appearance to 0, but raised it to 5 for the purposes of Intimidation. And the NORCA can shapeshift. So a Biokinetic could take that "Flaw" and use Transformation to look like a supermodel until he wanted to scare the piss out of somebody, at which point he reverts to his butt-ugly self. So in one of the fundamental defining Attributes, you could skate by with a 0.

    But if you can skate...

  • Yep, My. Pretty little one. Who will never want for money.

Does the blue-eyed person seem to be regarding the "pretty little one" with respect? Or as an equal? Because it doesn't sound like to to me.

Will a person with really good looks but a low Presence/Manipulation be able to bed people all the live-long night? Probably so. Will they be able to get those people to say "Yes" to anything beyond variations of "Wanna fuck?" Probably not....

  • Again, we already have a "time stop" with the seventh dot of Psychokinesis. Observing time in the past or future is covered by Clairsentience. Making objects/beings go faster/slower could also be covered by either Psychokinesis or perhaps stunts off the Quantakinetic mode, Energetics.

The point of Parasentience was to provide an aptitude that deals with something that psions/psiads genuinely cannot do at the moment. Figure it's also an aptitude that requires at least three Psi to access, as well. Even if developed and introduced into the game, the highest level that...
