Vampires sometimes play around on their own with beliefs and put a little blood here and there, finding that they have some sorcery after a time, So really don't think you need a sorcerer's blood for sorcery....

Blood magic is all study, no blood tasting required.
You'd have to believe in wagna though. And I imagine that "good graces" might not be the push you need for that jealously guarded blood magic (not that it's any worse than any other style). People don't like teaching disciplines, blood magic's worse....

    replied to Dominate vs drones
Gonna go with yes, but the new nature/demeanour/ attitutes of the drone will dictate the difficulty and successess needed, rather than the individual underneath. Drones are great at taking orders that's their job, so I don't think it'll be too hard considering the metaphysics of why dominate works. You don't dominate the spirit (and presence works, it's quite explicit) but the entity'd become a passenger in order for the dominate logic to be completed. By the same note, memory change wouldn't affect the spirit parts, enslavement'd probably have quirks as the spirit tells the dude what to do on...

Ah yes, DAV20, one of the most prestigious source books of the Vampire series. Known for it's reliable narration, attention to detail, accuracy, internal consistency between writers who had co-ordinated between themselves, and above all consistent with other vampire books.

Could I have a second source? Just for those who're using the rest of canon that isn't quite up to scratch....

So you've made something up, and then internalised your opinion into what you think the sourcebook said.

I for one think it'd be a little silly if the soul is quite so easily readable as a moodring, but I'm not going to call people ridiculous over it....

  • I would really disagree with any notion that you should beg your storyteller to dial all the players back. That's the worst thing. I'd rather have everyone give everyone final death than neuter the game and setting.
Importantly; Does your character know what's going on, or is this just you getting meta?
Do what your character would do, forget the party, (unless there's an option that satisfies both parties) never do something your character wouldn't do just for other players.
If you do know what's going on, then trust your elders, and tell them everything you know. I mean,...

I'll asume you've got a gargoyle power to help deal with the terror of flames for making steel.

You could do an extended roll with crafts and I believe a mental stat. Forging isn't a one night process. A lot of stuff'll take months.
strength and stamina are obviously important for blacksmiths, but the ability to bang on things for a long duration isn't going to dictate the quality of the work. I'd say perception (judging the right temperatures, getting everything level, spotting imperfections and such) is the attribute you'll most use.

    Another important thing is...

I believe that most kindred, especially in the camarilla, are very hush-hush about it, and when it's a known thing in a given city, the smear campaign and rumor mongering is very quick.

It drags the beast out, and it'll forever be more prominent
It's an addictive fast track to becoming a monster
    The victim will possess you.
It's really bad for your mental health.
You collect supernatural flaws from it.

Which is annoying when you've got a storyteller with a conscience that wants to punish you for evil (like, why would you run vampire if you're...

  • Jonas'd work if you get rid of everything he stands for. Make him the standard silver fang, the story of his exile and silver crown is fine, but his radical deviation from silver fang norms is the kind of stuff that'd have even the more moderate fangs against him, let alone the extreme groups like raptors who'd have him dead. This needs to be cut out. His pack would be at least half-silver fang and the ones who aren't would have great loyalty to the tribe. He needs to stop flouting traditions and he needs to put his tribe before himself.

His intellegence and manipulation needs a...

  • I actually only have a secondary source here, I've never read the relevant books, but I absolutely can't fathom Jonas Albrecth and his pack as being cannon. The player who talks about them obviously loves Jonas and the silver fangs are an obvious favourite. But I'm a more cynical bent and they're obviously the result of a self indulgent table thinking their chronicle should be canon.

Would like to see the Shadow lords take leadership of the nation though....

  • Mind block and other 4+ powers are out of the equation. They're very specialised/few have them/it's akin to winning the lottery of unluck to have to face the athro/elder with the right tribe/auspice to maybe have the power that's tailored to your demise.

Illithid thid if garou could spend a point of rage to ignore dominate then the cainite race would've been eradicated long ago.

Now, obviously, the best strategy for a kindred to deal with a garou is to avoid them entirely but in case the average kindred somewhere between late neonate-early ancilae has great misfortune...

  • There's no need to be rude.

If you use presence and dominate to amass human protectors, unless you lucked out and got the creme of the crop or gave them a last minute shovelheading, they will suffer horribly from the delerium and will be completely ineffective, even if you ruled that each mesmerise success'll act like they had another willpower. If we're talking the 4th dot of dominate or the 6th dot power of love, then I'll be open to having people stand steadfast, but that's really beyond the practical means of most vampires and beyond the scope of the thread, given prior comments...

    I dislike your artifact.
The attunement roll seems superficial, and the tripple botch'll happen once a century. The aggravated damage for just one point for a night's madness.

Learn movement of the mind 2+ or sticky the stakey stake ritual and then combine with burning blade.

Actually, if you want the ultimate thaumaturgical weapon.
Grab a really solid sword or large dagger for a +2-4 experience. Polearms are just way better as battlefield weapons, but I think you'll agree that there's some inconvenience in a conceal rating of "are you off your rocker?"...

  • 2.1 Obtenebration in older editions was treated like blood escapes from you and then shadow stuff spawns from that blood. So I'd say strangers to obtenebration'd roll a reflexive wits+occult/awareness roll to recognise the prelude to the shroud. Then it'll explode out in darkness. If the turn order says the lasombra goes first, it's instantaneous.

2.2 Yes. No question. I think going too far away from yourself (ie trying to black out a plane several thousand metres up) would be a strict no-no, but any point within 50'll do fine.

3.2 using other actions like helping you...

  • That's funny, but the plot twist is that the guy behind the guy you're talking to is a dupe for a dupe for a dupe. There's a methuselah in some dirt somewhere and who knows where you can find him.

Now this is pretty obvious and I can't believe it's not said yet but the mix cameras and reflections is important. If neither camera nor reflection can take you, then someone can take a picture of you infront of a mirror and you wouldn't be in any sort of trouble. If the camera can take you but the reflection can't, you're in for the wonderful world of masquerade violation and of...
