  • If my joints shift position to give me better leverage, it doesn't affect my strength - just my ability to apply it.
    Part of the problem might be that the two excellencies I posted are tied to the path of transformation, tying them strongly to flesh aspect - that's how flesh generally does things, and skills under other aspects work differently (for example, lore is tied to soil, by remembering bits of things that were forgotten, while investigation works with marrow, by making the liminal obsessively inquisitive.   • I don't have enough paths to cover all abilities. I tried coming up with more, but then didn't have enough distinct charm ideas - 3 per aspect seems the most that is workable....

  • Well, the excellencies need to be connected to either an ability or an attribute.
    With themes attatched to aspects it was easier to fluff them that way ( how would you describe a liminal wits excellency for example?)

    That being said, if you make a compelling argument to start over from scratch your way, this is the last moment to do so - i know from experience that major rewrites are death to big projects....

  • As mentioned in the opening post, this version is neither.

    It just occured to me - since some of the powers would be awkward to use with equipment like armor... would it cause any balance issues if a liminal could graft sockets into his body?...

  • Ok, the first attempt at flesh, since that's what most people seem the most excited about.
    This is one of the three skill trees focusing on flesh aspect (the other two geared towards absorbing body parts, and manipulating agression respectively)

    Do you think it contains all it should? Are the charms on proper Essence levels or should something be moved around? Do you have idea for anything else that should be added?

  • And now I have a vision of a fat, hairy lunar sitting on an abyssal.

    I'm 3/4 done digging through dragonblooded charms for inspiration. I can already see there will be some issues with my version (some charm trees being much bigger than others, or charms of the same skill split all over the place) - but better imperfect than nonexistent.

    In the meantime, coming back to a previous question - what do you think liminal anima banners should do beyond making them look creepy?...

  • Since stitched flesh juggernaut doesn't require a a corpse to start it, just to reset it, it could be the other way round - the conservation of mass doesn't apply much, and at high essence they can go full Attack on Titan....

  • The three charm trees I have for Flesh are
    Instinct (since they're born of violent intent) - giving their bodies hysterical strength, but also manipulating anger in others, and boosting their reactions.
    Transformation (stretching, contorting, doing some on the spot modifications to adjust to the situation
    Absorbtion (fixing themselves with transplants, getting abilities through transplants, and being able to do it supernaturally fast.

    Adding excellencies to charm trees now - the distribution isn't symmetrical at all, with Breath covering a lot of abilities....

  • Trying to homebrew Liminals - charm ideas appreciated

    So, I wanted to use some liminals in my campaign, but it looks like official rules won't be a thing for a bit more time, so I decided to homebrew some.

    While the character creation seems pretty straightforward - it could be based on dragonblooded with some tweaks the charm trees are what will likely take the most work.

    I'm at the early stage where I just write down charm names and what they're supposed to do. This is what I have so far.

    Hmm... from the description they are less frankenstein monster and more like the sins from the old Fullmetal Alchemist series.
    I was hoping for some more insight into how their charms work - I need to homebrew one for my campaign.
    Also, with me being Polish, "chernozem" sounds like an agricultural term to me

    1 I know that martial arts charms don't work with melee/brawl charms. What about dodge? Can I combine snake style charms with regular dodge charms?
