Who drinks tea that has been sweetened in advance?

Many years ago my dad and I made a cake for his birthday which contained bits of roasted earthworms. We told the guests, but as they didn't believe us, they happily ate it. It wasn't all bad, by the way.

The 4 Princes' assignment was to strengthen Innsbruch against an attack from the east. Innsbruch being the only link between Venice and München had a high priority, hence they were told to keep the city at any cost. From foreign sources they'd gathered that a vast Tzimisce army - lead by Noriz, The Corrupter of Legions - was heading their way. A couple of weeks before Kupala's Night a small host of 13 Revenants came to Innsbruch. They knew that something was bound to happen on that night, so they summoned the 13 guests to Elysium ... this was an important test of their skills in...

  • A Novel Experience - part I (Old shit)

(On demand, excerpts from TT sessions that took place in 2001 written for the White Wolf Forums)

    Part I

    Greetings,
I'm doing an all Ventrue Chronicle (as some of you may know) in which my otherwise twinkyish players are playing schemers and manipulaters for a change ... at least that was the general idea. The 4 players share Innsbruch in 1476 as 4 Ventrue Princes - the main plot is for them to gain influence on mortal society through income and bloodbonds. They had been doing fairly well when one of them got greedy and wanted to get in on the weapons/arms marked...

    Geriatrics with fangs Part II

    The cast:

Player1: A Ventrue merchant with a keen interest in the transport sector
Player2: A Toreador art dealer with a keen interest in the works of James Whistler
Player3: A Tremere scientist with a keen interest biological warfare
Player4: A Malkavian philanthropist with a keen interest in children’s conditions

--Outside the Lamb & Flag near Covent Garden, our four heroes assemble before a late meeting with the acting Prince of London--

Player1: Right, listen up; we’re about to meet with my boss, so try not...

Geriatrics with fangs is not 20 years in the making ... it's simply the same guys (almost) taking up the game again two decades later, so the stories are fresh ... sort of.

I went over the old chronicles some time ago, and while some of the stuff is still mildly amusing, the overall tone is definitely not suitable for this Forum ... or this day and age.

Marcs old stories can be found here:

Yes, the little buggers - or should I say we little buggers? - are creative.

Right, I told myself before posting: “these guys only want politacal or sexual drama or the Right to point out the simpletons among the new creators - they Care little for your stories”, and that’s all dandy and fine, but if It grants me a total of three likes I shall pursue my quest and post.

  • Why O why are you people using this platform to promote and support your sexuality/gender/political agenda/etc?

    Why?

Of course, you could turn this into a great Big party for your private parts and idiosyncrasies - but why?

This was ment to be about us dorks reveling in vampires and supernatural sillyness and suddenly it’s about Foreign countries you’ve never seen - and most likely never will - and how you feel about this and foreign policy. And hooray and bloody wicked for that (particularly considering your past itinerraries) but how the fuck is this...

  • This is not Blizzard or Bethesda who’ve rogered their fanbase - this is a company who’s Stayd true to most of Its fanbse. Even us geriatrics are still here. Even if we dont get most of the novel acrynyms.

  • Hmmm ... not practically but philosophicallly, yes.

I should probably stay out of the debate, as I’m still trying to come to termer with Revised.

But that’s a few sparkles for you. 😉

  • Dear pMark,

I cannot say this without sounding older than dirt, but when they came out with Revised (which was the first edition debated on the net), people - including myself - bitched and moaned. We hated every aspect of it. Even if the changes were ridiculously miniscule compared to what you see now.

My point is: if the mechanics are that important to you, make your own. If the metaplot is that appauling, make you’re own.

If you want every single minority unaffended, find a place with no predators.

  • But how are they to make this with a bit more conservative care?

The problem - the way I’ve always seen it - with these boards, is that people expect their individuality and idiosyncrasities incorporated in the game. And at the end of the day, that is not plausible.

If we truly want a new batch - and I don’t - to create a new platform of the game, shouldn’t we be willing to play along?

  • Alright .,. That makes sort of sense. But the whole “they are anti this and that” is really sad.

I have several gay friends, and if I ever told about the debates in here, they’d laugh their arses off, telling me to - and you, I recon - to get in the real fight.

  • You know, what is it truly you dislike about E5?

I’ve seen so many threads bitch and moan about it without ever being clarified about it.

What would you truly like? Honestly. What would you like in a new series?

I get all your idiosyncrasies and wishes, but what would you really like from these books?

  • I have seen enough puritan ages to know that they’ll bend. They’ll tank. They always tend to think that they’re on the pinnacle of society. And then, fortunately, they tank.

Because moral superioiry at Its core is a joke at best. It’s horrid and it is pugnant.

An amusing discovery to the very old of us, is that men somehow always let their beards grow when their testicles are being removed.

Anyway, i still play vampire on the third decade, so I dont see it go away any time soon.

    Geriatrics with fangs Part I

(Reader’s note: the following is an account from my gaming sessions, mainly created to let out some steam and hopefully entertain a bit. If you don’t fancy such litter, then read no further)

A TT game in a dimly lit flat somewhere in Copenhagen. A storyteller and four players surround a large, dark dining table. Their only source of light comes from a few lit candles. From the speakers flows the ominous sound of Atrium Carceri. The game is Victorian Age Vampire set in 1882 London. The players are:

Player1: A Ventrue merchant with a keen interest in the transport...

Thanks for clearing up the details on Presence and Dominate - I see now that I have to reeducate my players (and myself) in regards to how the Disciplines affect the victim.

I run a Victorian Age Vampire game in Westminster, London where my players are trying to maintain/expand their power on several fronts - economic, political, etc. It's a sort of sand-box game where I set the stage, throw some chores at them, but generally let them (think they) run the course of the game. If every single power player was supernatural the game would become unreal and overpowered.

Also, it's my experience that true horror (at least among my players) is not the Tzimisce monster but rather the mortal middle aged baby farmer, who's left countless bodies of infants in the...

Okay, so to paraphrase; the social roll should determine the outcome at the end of the day ... and a successful Awe roll should lower the difficulty?

    I can see that working.

And I do in no way want to cockblock my players when using Disciplines - far from it - I just, occasionally, have a bit of difficulty discerning the various mind Disciplines in game, and as I don't want to lock out any of my players for participating (you don't have the proper Discipline!) while interrogating an NPC, I was curious as to how you dealt with it.

    Thanks.
