So... is it possible to sail, say an open water ship from the dreaming sea up the rivers of the Scavenger Lands and out into the Inland sea?

  • Code Geass is an excellent example of a "Heroic" plotter. Lelouch also ended up being a star-making role for Jonny Young Bosch. He's also a fine example of a tactician/strategist if you ignore some of the chess metaphors.

I might as well add my $0.02 to this pot as well.

It's less about "obsession" though that's closer than desire, but rather about Dukkha. Basically "meaningless wanting" a good way to understand the concept that we've all felt is consider being in a restauraunt and you know there are two very tasty dishes you could order. You select one, eat it, and enjoy yourself, but that enjoyment is diminished by the thought of the other one, that maybe it could have been better.

I think where Isator is getting his info from here is the interpretation that the Buddhist...

Funnily enough considering my Twilight is a philosopher in the Confucian sense, yes. At one point I'd even had an entire philosophical treatise outlined for him, but I don't much care for alot of the assumptions I'd made for it.

Though who knows, maybe someone here will get something out of it; The Five Truths of Wu Duxun of the Realm.

The universe is a song, and all things sing within it, and should celebrate their uniqueness, because it is every thread in a pattern that makes the pattern, just as harmony, not homology makes music beautiful.

    Some threads...

Speaking personally, I *do* have access to Envision for the typeset, though a free version I found somewhere so....

    That being said;

Well sure, but I don't think we're to the "iterate"step so much as the "identify" one. We don't know what "Death Gods" we should be pulling from as our source of possible interpretation/Information.

But following your logic, fine let's look at one of the Deathlords, since your argument seems to be one of "we're doing it backwards"

Taking one we're really familiar with, let's say Mask of Winters. I think we can safely discard alot of his 2e interpretation, so I'll draw from 1e stuff.

He's a murderer, for one (or at least...

Speaking personally, I'm of that persuasion. A few things I find are helpful to consider.

Hell is always apropos. Even if you say it as hell, (which Malfeas is still understood as naysayers!) Naraka, Jigoku or Kuzimu.

The Romans loved to curse by excrement, but especially the clitoris.

People tend to curse about things they care about, so someone from an Immaculate culture will likely blaspheme, unless they're devout. So back to the Romans, it's why it was a concern to them, and thus all the sexual ones. Like The Wizard said, seldom do people cross divinity...

Discord has some merits, though via google documents is a good place to share content. That being said, layout is a significant concern. I can maybe help in that regard, using the official Exalted layout pages (with developer and Onyx Path permission of course since this is a bigger sort of deal than "Hey I made this and wanted it to look fancy" kind of homebrew.) but I mostly do it in Word, which some of you are sure to know is a colossal pain for this sort of thing.

And like I said, I'll be happy to write, contribute, even edit if it gets that far, but we should find a...

I said that at first from the thought in me head that "Well, they'd want to communicate the relative alien-ness of the Underworld, while at the same time thinking that there are alot of Mezoamerican death gods who don't have the recognition factor of say Quetzalcoatl that would make their specific themes "resonate" with alot of people.

Then I remembered about Xipe Totec and realized "That sounds alot like the Dowager"

I'd argue Mictlantecuhtli could also be combined with the Flayed God, considering the Dowager also wears a skull on her head as...

"Most Exalted have little difficulty accumulating some Resources if they wish," - Exalted 3rd Edition Corebook, Page 164.

My *point* being that to the Deathlords and a great many other Exalted, unlike say D&D adventurers, the accumulating of wealth is seldom a goal in and of itself. Even the Empress did it as a show of power, to decorate her lavish court, to deprive the lands in the threshold of strength, to suit her appetites, etc. I don't really see there being many exalts who are all about making that cash money as the sole point of their goals unless they have some...

Well... speaking personally, I'd be willing to contribute as well. I've also edited for Holmguard Press before, so I could take a crack at that, but I'd need some guaruntees that the idea is going to have some follow through before I sign on since I've got a bunch of projects to juggle. And Lioness is right, a quarterly zine is much more realistic in terms of ambition.

Well obviously not from a literal standpoint; material wealth is very meaningless to the Exalted, living or not. But less the idea of "This guy has the most bling" and more "Men value the power of silver. I see its hollowness and its meaninglessness and will use that to draw men to the plans I desire." like Torak and his red Murgo gold, if you've ever read the Belgariad.

So not a "mineral wealth" sort of thing, but wealth, power and a sort of social control are definetely big themes of the Bodhisattva.

That being said; death gods. Let's look...

If that doesn't sound like the Silver Prince I don't know what does.

On what logic do you think?

Oh I dunno. I got this from the 1e interpretation, and him using his own apparent murder as a "teaching tool" to show the ultimate futility of trying to defy him and the sort of "weight of Oblivion" kind of thing seems absolutely "Deathlord-y" without needing to dip into the "Eye and Seven Despairs is a loser" thing. It shows him as an arch manipulator, a cool operator, and a downright vicious planner.

    started a topic The Deathlords

    The Deathlords

Seeming an abandoned thread of a similar theme, I find myself a bit curious about the Deathlords and what they're likely to be "themed" after concerning the whole "themes of the deathlords inherent in Abyssal charms" this edition. So let's chat about it.

    Here's my thoughts; what're yours?

The Lover Clad in a Rainment of Tears- Classic Succuvamp sort of undead critter. She's clearly a ghost all about jealousy. The source of what I imagine will be the Socalize "Succubus Arts" after they've been toned down to be less squick.

    The...
