  • I really like Saulot, and the various takes on him. I am inclined to believe that he is not "Evil" per se, but that he is actively looking to destroy the Curse of Caine by bringing about Gehenna, but only in that all vampires are destroyed, but not humanity.

The other Antediluvian I think may have everyone fooled is Capadocius...I don't think he is gone. In fact, in my games, the reason why he allowed Uncle Augie to diablerize him is so that he could remove himself from the great Jyhad, letting everyone believe he was destroyed. That way, he could continue his plans unrestricted....

  • I am of the mind that the Book of Nod was edited to remove the words of the elders, making them apocryphal (much similar to what was done with the "Lost" gospels).

If so, who did it, and to what purpose?...

  • Does anyone know if there are going to be additional predator types in the Player's Guide? I love the concept and would be curious to see more.

started a topic Question about Diablerie

    Question about Diablerie

This is for V5, by the way

Let's say I am a 10th generation neonate. I find a sleeping 6th generation elder and decide to turn him into a juice box. Normally, I would only lower my generation by one or possibly two. However, the internal struggle is where my question comes in.

Let's say that my humanity was relatively low, and I fail the humanity rolls to overcome the soul of the elder I just slurped. Suddenly, I am snuffed out, and the elder now has a nice, new body to walk around in. Is he now an 8th or 9th generation Kindred, or does he maintain his generation in a...

  • I like the idea that it is Enoch, and that he has a particular reason to hate Caine and his childer in particular. I'm thinking I might run with that.

  • Speculation on who the Dark Father is

So, I've been reading over the Book of Nod. In the Chronicle of Secrets, there is a prophecy called the Awakening of the Dark Father.

"Of these signs you will know
The Dark Father, bastard of Caine,
will awaken, and drink deep of blood
    sacrificed to it."

I am curious if there has been anything official/semi-official as to who this is. I am keying on the "bastard of Caine" reference. This implies that there may be an unknown 2nd gen vampire that wasn't destroyed.

    Thoughts?

Paths are really not that difficult to create using the V5 rules.

First of all, if your ST and your coterie want to play a game like this, work together to create chronicle tenets that represent the paths you want to play. Then, create convictions that represent your altered "morality." The only part of this that will require thought would be how to tie these convictions to touchstones.

Let's look at the Path of Night as an example. Possible tenets for this path would be (for example):

We are horrors. Let us show the mortals their frailty without...

replied to my take on W5
I always wanted to do my Werewolf Apocalypse based on the actual Nordic Ragnarok. My idea was to take Ragnarok and apply the themes and virtues of each of the Nordic Gods to one of the tribes (Get of Fenris = Fenrir, Silver Fangs equal either Odin or Thor, etc.), and then just build around that.

Another thought is that they want to do the Sabbat RIGHT!

Let's look at the state of things for the other 2 sects. Both have significant changes (The Cammies now have the Banu Haquim, they've kicked out the Brujah, and they've started accepting the Lasombra and have become even more of a Good ol' Vamps club that requires elite invitation to; the anarchs now include the Brujah and the Ministry and have taken most of the territory that has been abandoned by the Sabbat and Cammies who went to the Middle East). So, it is safe to theorize that the Sabbat are also going to be changed in...

I'm wondering if it required some serious re-writes like the Camarilla book did. Maybe there was some subject matter that needed to be revised to avoid controversy....

Look, it seems as if maybe I might be sounding a little antagonistic; that is not intentional. I tend to reply to hyperbole in this way, and message boards are notoriously bad with depicting tone.

My point is that we don't know what's going to come for the Sabbat...we are only 4 books into this particular line. I'm sure the developers have something planned for the Sabbat (also why I think that the Player's Guide will include clans that are normally associated with the Sabbat). All I am saying is give it time before you start with the hatred.

Data? Your table is not my table, nor is it the entire world.

Which is why the Sabbat were always excluded from the core books and the anarchs weren't, right?...

Which is why the Camarilla and Anarchs were included in the *core* books in 1st edition, 2nd edition, and revised, but not the Sabbat?...

Most players joined because of the Sabbat? Really? Do you have data to back up that assertion?

I've been playing Vampire since 1991, and not once...not even ONCE...did I play in a Sabbat game. The ST's I gamed with used the Sabbat like V5 uses them...as a group of Vampiric boogeymen. Despite your assertions, they were not THE default of the setting.

Your baseless hyperbole aside, we can see that the developers are looking at releasing books and stories that deal with two of the three major sects (Camarilla and Anarch), which has always been the focus of the gameline whenever...

I don't know...I can see a Sabbat game in 5e being very compelling. You are one of the survivors of the sect, whether you are a conscientious objector to the Gehenna War, or you are a survivor of said war, one who wasn't devoured by the elder monstrosities. Your goal is to survive in this new world, try to carve territory in cities where you once ruled, and fight off incursions from the Camarilla and Anarchs. Oh, and while you're at it...those Sabbat elder monstrosities are looking for you, too...they don't like their good little soldiers ignoring their calls.

    Yeah, I'd play in something...
