  • In my current Los Angeles chronicle. One of the characters is an alleycat, who favors hunting abusers, murderers, rapists and the like. His character is now an ex-believed to be dead-detective; but at the time, still masqueraded as an actual police detective until it became too complicated to keep up the Mask. He needs to hunt, so we start to play out a hunting scene. He does some research to find a vessel, he finds an intriguing target, a woman who did prison time for neglect of her child that led to her child's death. He decides to hunt her. He travel's to her neighborhood (not his domain) spies...

I wouldn't try to turn it in any specific direction, it seems the PCs are taking in their own direction. I'd roll with it, and see where it leads. I'm not sure I'd stick with the idea that the Ventrue PC was the willful killer because of a Frenzy.. I'm more inclined to make the Ventrue the fall guy for another vampire....

Here's to the Anarchist Anarchs! I note there are different forms of anarchism- so no two anarchist anarch domains are necesarily alike. Generally, I think any sort of post-medieval structural organization, and post-medieval church organization if you're a "Sabbat Loyalist" is a viable experiment for the Anarchs. I think its important to keep in mind that Anarchs are still vampires-the Beast plays a keen role in undermining their efforts to create non authoritarian and non-hierarchal structures. The Beast breaks that down, the Beast seeks to survive and to dominate. That's going...

  • I think vampires are perfectly capable of carrying their mortal prejudices into unlife and I think vampires are perfectly capable of leaving those prejudices behind. I think they're perfectly capable of picking up new prejudices and they're perfectly capable of discarding them. It's an individual Kindred thing....

There was a thread in which some folks compiled some rules clarification from somebody involved in the game design. It's too large of a file for me to upload. Here's the section on Conflicts:

    Conflict Clarifications

Q: How does splitting pools and such in combat work?

A: If you want to deal damage to more than one attacker you need to split your pool. If you are only defending (with either your combat pool or dodge pool) you get your full pool, minus penalty for multiple opponents. Any pool that aims to damage is subject to the splitting requirement. Any...

  • I agree. I think striving to play the hero ( a vampire who avoids feeding from people, tries to do the right thing and exemplifying admirable qualities) can make for an excellent vampire character and generates dramatic potential. In my own experience, PCs who played those sorts of characters really get into exploring personal horror. In my very first game, one of my players did just that. He made a private detective, 13th generation caitiff. In his prelude, he's hunting down a serialist who becomes his Sire The PC did everything in his power to not be a monster. He fed from animals, he maintained...

In the interest of full disclosure. I played Adam D'Amour, Lasombra who was for a time, cardinal, then archbishop and then priscus of the Sabbat. He was my original pen and paper character. But, he was a Malkavian in our table top game....
