  • Weirdly I would be fine if the limit was say "1 Story" or "1 scene of use" as those are flexible and can fit into how a ST runs things. I just find "session" arbitrary and restrictive.

I get where you are coming from, just different styles for different groups....

  • Florin I understand where you are coming from but personally don’t see how tying the metric to sessions though helps this in a way that a more measurable in game time factor wouldn’t. For example my group has quite short sessions, normally 2-3 hours long. An investigation arc could more than 3 sessions, especially if we are layering in downtime, sub plots and personal stories with touchstones – we could easily make 1 in game week stretch for months’ worth of play, and I know I can, I’ve done it! (Had a 1 year irl long vampire game that took place over 2 in game weeks!) So in those situations...

  • Union and TF: V are out! Being the chump I am I have skipped the compact straight to the Conspiracy.

I have not read much/ Any TF:V stuff from 1e but I like the feel of the write up here. The twisted self-eating conspiracy theories is a fun angle, the suspicions as to why they don’t work outside the US and the scope of Antagonists is nice compared to some of the more focused conspiracy’s.

Their write up I like, but I have some issues with Advanced Armoury. To start positive, the general idea of monster hunting tech that, in contrast to the other conspiracies, is completely...

Enchantment/ Nyx should 100% be the PSP. Powers should range from enhancing allies, creating Eidolons and other Nyx born to (However the rules work for God/ Demigod) blessing other people with the power of Nyx (See Daxos on T:BD)

Key thing I think it should do:
Motif should be based on Devotion to the character, the more people think that character or that characters God can do something, the more it should be done.
Innate power: This could also be connected to Devotion. Maybe gaining an Enhancement when in the presence of people who believe in your ability!
    Boons:...

  • I really like this too. I plan to run a 2e game as soon as we have all the rules, and I'm leaning towards running a historical lucifuge game. I remember the sidebar in c&c exploring that members of the lucifuge can live for hundreds of years, so have characters being recruited in the 1400's and then working up to modern day. The change with the sacrifice already seems like a great plot hook as to introduce as time goes on where the players older methods stop working, as swapping the rites back to allowing external sacrifice seems trivial mechanically.

    I will definitely look into...

  • The lucifuge are BLOODY AMAZING! The write up is great. By far my favourite conspiracy and I am a big fan of the way castigation works. I like the addiction as an inherent downside, really should keep players on the edge of slipping to the dark side.

Also we get clarification on Demons Vs Demons via the infernal dread power - looking forward to how that plays out in the antagonist chapter.

Lastly, tid bits about Angels. I kinda hope we get some celestial Angels in the antagonist chapter. I believe the old Inferno had some? It has been a while (also inferno 2e when!)...

  • Yeah I think hunter comes in 5th in general popularity behind the core 3 (vamp, wolf and mage) and then only beaten by changeling....

  • Plus it puts us over month end, people are probably more likely to pledge in that "I just got paid" mentality....

  • At $70,000 in funding - Tending the Flame: Compacts — Help us fund a second chapter for the Player’s Companion for Hunter: The Vigil Second Edition. This chapter on Compacts would offer eight expanded compact write-ups with an emphasis on their current members and activities.

More Compacts! ヽ(°□°ヽ) Big Hype ヽ(°□°ヽ)

  • I really like the idea of playing the remnant of a collapsed Compact/ Conspiracy trying to keep the Vigil lit, and discovering why all the other cells went dark - I would run that....

  • Backed, getting a hard copy - can't wait. My group has recently expressed interest in a "down to earth urban fantasy game" so this fits the bill as they will mostly need the COFD book and I can work off the preview notes behind the scenes.

I don't know if this has already been asked and answered, bit how compatible will the mortal remains content be? I imagine dread powers are pretty much a direct port - but what about the compacts or dare I ask conspiracys?

Fortunately I see we are getting build your own conspiracy and compact rules, so I can't imagine porting...
