They are nothing as the Ventrue. They're the opposite. Thearchs are humanists, they are the champions of humankind. In their words, each Sleeper suffering is a sign the thearchs has still not succeed in their goal. And their goal is the humanity.

There are thearchs that ressemble Ventrue. Absolutelly. But those are lions thearchs, but the role of the thearch is not that. Theymust be the sages, who guide and lead the human race to divinity.

I loved SL orderbook. It changed my perception of SL from wizard-Ventrue to idealist champions of humanity.

I allways thought than the Carthian Law and Invictus Oaths should be inverse in a roman setting.
The Senex were the Propinqui magistrates, the responsible of applying the Laws from the Forum, so it'd be logical they had a set of Law Merits to enforce those Laws.
And the Collegia would had the Oaths, because that'd gave him unity and mutual loyalty so needed to mantain united against the Senex and the Legio.

It'd be ironical if some archeologist Kindred world discover that. It'd be a terrible political coup against the "pedigree" of Invictus, showing the Carthisns...

  • That setting is fucking great!!! I just have read the Roman history section and, although Werewolf is not among my fav games (nothing against it, it's just not my game ), Im loving it more and more. The setting is just great and the change in the Uratha society is marvelous (that's one of the thngs I love more, the Uratha having a very politized and hierarchised society).

Things that Im thinking just now:
    1) It's sad the history ends around 15-20 CE. I'd love to see how roman uratha society would evolve during the Roman Empire.
    2) I absolutelly need a roman mage setting....

Theres two other important mentions to this city:
    - Fall of the Camarilla has a setting in Constantinople, during Justinian rule.
    - Ancient Mysteries: The Crusades setting speaks about Constatinople during that time. Although theres no much information in quantity, there is in quality: in a certain way, it continues the FotC setting, through the Middle Ages, explaining which covenants ruled the city until the Fourth Crusade, when it was sacked by westener crusaders.

    Other minor mentions:
    - Invictus also speaks something about it in its history hapter, but part of...
