  • another measure that is worth considering is quite how dramatically successful the CbN Kickstarter was recently. That book really flew and i don't think it could have done well without it also implying V5 had done well as well.

  • I quite like the new Lodin/Olaf. True, he's a bit trickier to get back into the story, but i think his status could weave him into so many other plots. Because he's so broken, his motives aren't as clear and he then becomes malleable to a bunch of plots. I can see how we could get really bitter, jealous and full of hate and just want to bring the city down. Perhaps in a more lucid moment, he betrays some of the many secrets he knows about the Primogen and the inner workings of the city. Perhaps this time he sides with Maldavis for revenge on those that manipulated him and left him for dead. He...

Thanks for the feedback on Morality - it's great to get other perspectives on these things, especially from people without the same emotional investment like the characters do!

As for 'stacking convictions', i've been working with this already - didn't consider if it was in the rules or not. i've also done it for Chronicle tenets as well - for example, recently my PCs needed some things for a necromantic ritual - as such the had to get the Skeleton of a child that would then be ground into powder to form a protective circle (Children are representative of innocence). This breached...

Yeah, i'm UK too - so i suppose an Assault Rifle (or frankly many guns) would cost a lot more and be harder to obtain. I suppose i'm basing this on the idea that a lot of WoD games get set in the US, or at least in places where arms are easier to obtain. Certainly if i set a game outside the US, i'd makes guns more common - this is the WoD after all - it's supposed to be a corrupt, violent hell hole!

How would this work with a socialite that has inherited money? They wouldn't have any dots in finance (in the extreme, but i can see that being common) so that would mean they have no cash? Same with Giovanni - they are bankrolled by the clan when they're proving useful. Someone with lots of Guns, wouldn't necessarily have a mansion they lived it (think of all the lone Gun nut stereotypes), but someone with enough money for a mansion could comfortably have many weapons. If i wanted to play a reclusive Gangrel prepared for anything, in normal rules i'd say having resources 2 would be enough for...

Yeah, i think that's a good, happy medium to your approach. it allows flexibility and customisation, without forcing people into a specific idea of whether one thing is worse than another. The only downside is that some Ethics are ones that 'get in the way' - this system could easily allow players to not pick the uncomfortable ones? Perhaps pair ethics together so each level you get two, this provides some balance. If this is the case, i reckon you'd only want 3 levels - perhaps levels 4-5 could offer something less related to convictions in a similar way to loresheets? This is also complicating...

Very interesting read, generally i like the new morality system for the same reasons you suggested and i'm looking forward to seeing what happens with paths when it becomes 'official'. I think with paths, it would be good to have a set of rigid set of convictions/tenets that they adhere too - whilst Humanity offers a certain flexibility, a path shouldn't and needs to limit abuse to it's power as much as possible. i'd want to see 'official convictions' where a PC can't cherry pick which ones they want - a path has to mix good with bad and have that structure. Perhaps a good way to do it is to have...

  • Absolutely agreed. As long as touchstones are used sparingly they add a great element of drama. I really don’t see what the fuss is about frankly!

As for ghouling them... well I’d almost be tempted to rule that “destroys” the touchstone. Blood bonding anyone gains stains, so doing that to someone with emotional significance to you (who if hurt will provoke a frenzy roll) will be even worse, and it could also violate a conviction easily enough. Add to all of that that the act of blood bonding them will guarantee to alter thier behaviour to you, will they still represent what...
