  • Oh yeah, I know that, I meant bloodlines along the lines of the samedi, cappadocians, harbingers etc. The fact is, the Hecata aren’t a clan in the classic sense (however I suspect perhaps some sort of necromantic ritual might bind them together in some way, in a similar way to what happened to a Giovanni in a book I can’t remember the title of (although I want to say Isabel and lore of the clans))...

  • Sounds like some good stuff going on there, and I wonder if by “lots of discipline stuff” it’s not just oblivion flavoured powers and also some other discipline powers.

It also sounds like we’ll see various flavours of the clans and bloodlines making up the Hecata - will this be the first book to preview a bloodline?

Finally, I’m happy to see that the Giovanni of old will still exist in thier degenerate ways (although perhaps more broken), whilst I like this new sect/cult/clan concept, I’d miss those crazy fuckers if they just got swallowed up, especially...

  • The one thing the ST doesn’t control is the character, they absolutely should define any flaws they have so they can decide why etc. If I were to suddenly tell one of my group “sorry, your more easily blood bound than the rest” they’d revolt! Especially considering all the crap I do throw at them in the name of a good story. The thing the ST does control is how often we make them central to the story. Some of them of course affect all rolls (not difficult to remember) but others are relevant only at certain times. As an ST, that time is whenever it feels relevant and is fun for the story....

  • Because they provide fun story hooks and this isn’t just about superheroes with fangs? Whilst as a character flaws are frustrating as you never know when they’re going to “get in the way”, as a ST they’re gold dust.

For example, in my chronicle a Gangrel character picked the flaw that was essentially “fear of white animals”. They decided to get rid of a body by feeding it to the alligator st the local zoo. I randomly decided to look at the website for that cities zoo, only to find out they house one of the few Albino Alligators in captivity.

    This flaw...

  • Where was Packs as touchstones mentioned? Makes sense of course.

Personally I hope paths do come through in some specific way, rather than just write your own morals. There was always some tenets that made a path murder to maintain, like no frenzy, or being nice or something that you just end up doing. I like those unavoidable wildcards thrown in. Loresheets gets part of the way, but misses the drawbacks of being a path follower. Following a path isn’t just about being evil, it’s abour strict morality, and. Strict codes always have a breaking point.

  • Frankly, what type of vampire is Prince depends on a lot of external factors, so I don’t think it’s as simple as “strongest” or else we’d have more Gangrel princes (toughest bastards. Fight me) or utter psychos. How strong the primogen are, how much churn and external conflict there is, how important the city is, proximity to anarchs/Sabbat territory etc. All these things would really influence the type of prince who took/kept the job. Hell, in some cities it might be who throws the best parties!

Another factor is whether the prince is the real power, or whether really,...

  • exactly, there was no way they were going to have a clean break whatever happened - this way they get to do the thing they were gonna do anyway (Eliminate Sabbat Aligned Lasombra) and earn a spot in the Cam, and do it in such a way that they feel above suspicion! Never do anything for free as they say - the Lasombra really embody that attitude! whilst it's not clear that the Lasombra sent to Chicago were aware of this, i'd suspect Les Amis Noir figured this was the best approach and purposfully sent a Lasombra that might as well be Cam in attitude, and a die hard Sabbat in the same party! Why...

  • Whilst i think we can all agree the Camarilla aren't 'good' guys, I personally don't think that Anarchs are inherently better! By and large they are younger, and therefore not only closer to their human life and feelings (which mirror more closely some Anarch tenets), but also decidedly not in a position of power. No one likes to get crapped on, and the younger rabble have something to rebel against that the Elders don't. In my eyes, there are some genuinely good Anarchs who want to bring down the system for good reasons, just as there are some Good Camarilla who either want to reform it from...

  • I’m not sure I agree that all Sabbat paths are inherently Evil and influenced by Sabbat Ideology. Out of game we know that the Roads came after, but in game the paths are the logical extension of Roads, just with a new name. A lot of them have a Road equivalent, and the levels aren’t much different (from memory).

In game, my logic is that when the Camarilla essentially outlawed the Roads in favour of Humanity, Road followers either died, adapted or joined the Sabbat. Sure, we’ve stories and lore about the Paths being created, but there’s no way that wasn’t an extension...

  • It’s in the white wolf press release. I’m sure they’ll repurpose the content, but they’ve got controversy attached now (well Cam does at least) so it makes a certain amount of sense to just not print more. The spread of books looks interesting though and I’m interested to see what else come and how OPP will fit in as I was very impresses with CbN
