  • No, he tweeted that the cosmology of the game lines was going to be unified and we didn't need multiple realms for the same thing....

    Not necessarily, it was never previously stated where Obten linked to, (it was potentially the Abyss of Wraith, or the Far Horizon of Mage/Werewolf, or something to do with the Nephandi) you could decide for your chronicle what it connected to, or if it was something totally other than all of those (the abyss between stars, the endless Hunger of Lasombra itself....something Cthonic and Mythos related). That ambiguity is gone now, it seems all darkness related stuff comes from the single source of the Abyss....

    For good or ill it looks like that is going to change, the spirit world already got streamlined by linking Obten explicitly to Necromancy, rather than leaving it open to being connected to the far horizon. So we are already down 1 abyss....

    It doesn't have to be Kuei Jin, it has to be not Cainites, because they are the only myth that is true, and they are a European myth, based on a European dominated religion, taking their rules and putting a new local name on it doesn't fix this issue, it's at best mockery to do that, and that is the kindest interpretation.

    As to being Christian making someone white, no it doesn't, but it does mean colonialist indoctrination and ideology has done it's job....

    It indicates that Eurocentrism is totally in charge European vampires colonise the globe! (Yes I know originally Middle Eastern, but like the God that canonically made them, they are euro now. The Cainite conquers the world and by existing alone declares one God, one faith, one truth....

  • Not much new here, so not hopeful at all. But then given the state of the Sabbat in revised, I did not have much anyway.

    Then ghoul people. Fleshcraft them if you must, also ghouled swarms of rats, and stray dogs have decent uses. Basically Vozhd are horrible cost/utility, but their are other options that work cheaper, easier, faster, and doable in bulk/...

    but they are opening tombs and attacking ancients, of unknown blood lines (probably) and we do know somethings truly evil lie beneath those sands (The Children, if the Baali aren't lying, the Baali themselves, Infernalist Banu Haqim, Malkavian ancients, possibly Malkav itself, who knows what else.) Their is plenty of scope for Cosmic and Eldritch horror, they might not be in R'lyeh, but they might just have stumbled across The Nameless City. (Basically Cosmic Horror needs to come back into the setting imho, those things beyond time that make the Cainites look like bumbling children, that used...

    [QUOTE=MyWifeIsScary;n1443225]
    You ever watch horror movies and get the sense that the victims could just beat the shit out of the antagonist if only they stopped the melodramatic panic? The scary part of Vozhd is the Potence and Fortitude, and the part where they dont bleed out due to being a ghoul. If it werent for the Potence, it wouldnt have the strenght to stand and practically, it should have a lot of difficulty mustering its natural strength being an analgam of 20 people rather than one giant with the might of 20 people. Like if I was playing a character that had 4 potence and 4 fortitude...

    1) 50,000 (ish) Shermans built, vs roughly 58,000 T-34s (with huge amounts of US aid ofc) More of either of those tanks than any panzer. hell more than ALL panzers. Then we ofc get the KV line, and the M3, M5 etc etc, and US aircraft production....yea the logistics and manufacturing capacity of the Allies in ww2 is mind blowing.....anyway.

    2) Vozhd as a prestige item makes sense, Vozhd as the lynchpin of a war plan doesn't. Bury the enemy in cheap but good enough, not expensive and perfect (So to stretch the analogy, the Vozhd is a Maus, huge, expensive, and crushed by formations...

    Maybe, but even that much victory is the sum of various roll backs, and 'we didn't mean its'. It certainly started this edition as them having run off to die off screen. About the only way to bring them back is basically the biggest crusade ever, shock and awe of the bloated packs hitting the Anarchs as hard as they can (because the anarchs are the main territorial power now, with the Cam doing inconnu lite impressions, and the anarchs have a lot of deserters the Sabbat are going to loath with unholy passion) then, when they have territory, they can go after the Cam, it may be interesting to have...
