  • TC books? Sorry I don’t do well with acronyms.

And at this point you are no longer addressing my issue and actually emphasizing the problem. There is ABSOLUTELY no coherent order to this book or the systematics. A system that is introduced as specific to a specific subset character is suddenly integral to all characters in another book, 4 references in Origin explicitly reference Hero expecting you to possess the book making it obvious that it’s not meant to be a stand alone or just intending to force the purchaser (yes I’m aware everybody who kickstarted got both) to buy the...

  • I had already apologized to the project creator but thanks for the additional chastising.

  • Oh I learned that. And thanks for the condescension.

The book for antagonists LITERALLY says they do not take those conditions.

And I quote “This is the number of Health Boxes the Archetype comes with by default. Antagonists do not have Injury Conditions, but are Taken Out when their last Health Box is filled.”

Therefor plain text reading of the book Rich put out and I bought says that everything you said about them taking any injury condition is bunk. Because the TEXT says so. You can imply whatever you want from the whole of the book but those are...

You are literally making my point for me about why I’m asking why Therianthrope is an origin and can’t be another form of path as well....

  • Except plain text reading says they don’t actually take those. It’s in the book. That’s an implied mechanic, not an explicit one.

There are now 2 completely separate compare systems in the same game, with a conflicting mechanic track. This is not simple, streamlined,!nor in any way adequately explained in the product I purchased. So I think my unbridgeable will remain justified.

I will apologize for the personal attack. It was not appropriate on a forum possessed by the content creators....

  • Wait... taking damage gives you momentum? Where the hell... ok, I give up, this system is frelled. Whatever person designed this book and thought this was easy to understand was dropped on their head as a small child.

Using my phone so not really able to parse the quote sorry.

To the #of paths: in my example I did choose 3 and narratively justified them.

Regardless of end cap (which the book still says can be surpassed with ‘help’) the book still leaves supernatural paths available as PC options.

And my question exists because of the example 3 role choices I gave. In a game entirely about concept and narrative, what if the player doesn’t “want” to play an actual Scion. Which would mean that the relationship with their pantheon would be different. It’s not...

  • That has to be the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. So basically any antagonist with more then 1 health level doesn't have wound penalties? A troll can't be concussed, hamstrung, or any of the other "descriptive complications" that PCs take every time a troll hits them? How the hell does that make any sort of dramatic sense!...

As a bard, I'm always interested in learning. By the way, I learned that story from lessons in O.B.O.D. I was more interested in a reading list, since as usual with any information I am given (specially on the internet), I take it skeptically no matter how legitimate or with how much authority they speak with. I always like the ability to evaluate the source. After all, much of what the scholarly community used to describe the Celtic peoples culture was written by Caesar until (as you mentioned) actual archaeological evidence was being applied to it to disprove their assumptions. Still a lot...

  • Ok time for a new question!

    Antagonist Health Chart: Need Help!

Origin says Antagonists do not have Injury Conditions, except that the entirety of the damage system is about describing how injury conditions work on a character. What am I missing? So trolls can't be hamstrung, concussed or have eyes poked out? My love of this game is again dwarfed by the hate of this book.

Except I could imagine a 'military brat' hitman cursed by Artemis to transform to the savagery of the beast he has becomes as a set of role descriptions to describe a Therianthrope.

His formative years were him being a military brat- never having the discipline or temperment to actually enlist, specially after washing out during boot because he lost his cool. His skills and abilities however did earn him a special niche in the criminal world in which he began to excel until he took the wrong job and managed to earn the ire of the vengeful goddess who true to her nature cursed the...

The problem is I come from a background where the rule book actually had...rules... and the labels they applied to things actually...mattered. It's one of the greatest issues I've been having with this book where basically everything in it is a suggestion (and not in the typical way most tables house rule a game to make work for their tables.)

Therianthropes are labeled are Supernatural Origin Path. If it was just a Path, I could figure this out on my own, but since they label themselves as as Origin paths specifically, it makes me identify them as such....

I'm prepping as a storyguide and trying to understand systematics. The versatility you just described was my problem. A Najavo skinwalker or South American Shaman might be a therianthrope capable of shifting their form through ritual, while the Greek story of King Lycoan is clearly a curse, and Norse Berserkers could be born or initiated by society (depending on your interpretations of the lore)....

    Therianthrope Roles

They are listed as Supernatural Origin paths, but these seem like they might be more a society/pantheon path to me since most therianthropes aren't born (like Kitsune or Satyr) they are usually made. Jaguar Shamans, Lycaon, even the berserkers of Norse mythology are all various forms. Is there any mandate to limit these to origin?...

  • The wording is... awkward. It says that the band gets together and decides communally on an objective. Normally there would be a plot decided by the GM. Either by module or home brew, but it the book makes it seem far more player decided of “Our epic adventure will be X” and leave it to the ‘Storyguide’ scrambling behind trying to figure out what to do with that direction....

  • Newest question: What are Group deeds vs a Traditional campaign model? These concepts seem to conflict to me... though this one I will admit to the high likelihood of just being dense.

  • That was actually very concise (wish the book was) thanks. My only further query would be, since virtues only appear in the appendix with supernatural paths for saints etc, do scions actually have them or just saints?
