I've probably screamed about it before on here, so I'm very aware.

Looking at you, Prime 2 Chi healing.

That being said I'd probably make it Prime 4 for Ghosts/Spirits, atleast unwillingly. (The same way you turn inanimate objects into quintessence normally), or 3 if you accept it/they give it up.

Then again theres like 50 optional rules on using Prime 3 (I think 3?) and 'stealing it' from people by doing interactions with them. Like: Torture, probably rape, sex but you spiritually take it from them, etc.

    It's strange.

  • Turns out:
The familiar = You get paradox because it shoots fire out of its mouth thing: I can't find it in M20 core, so it might be in Gods and Monsters or I'm pulling rules from fucking Forged in Dragons fire (I think it may be that book)

    For the other thing:
Yeah I just thought wrong, perma-dox/bleeding is it.

And not every explanation with Blatancy has to involve an entire stage be set up prior, one of the examples is just 'It's a flash mob'. Or even, although more difficult, 'It was an exploding gas main'. I imagine saying 'I'm gonna blow up the floor...

  • There's a skill literally for justifying what you do (did?) to avoid paradox, in M20. I forget the name.

    Which is weird because:
Do I cast the spell, gain the paradox, and then it magic(k)ally goes away after I successfully convince someone that the fireball was just special effects?

    Or do I:
Tell the ST I intend on justifying it, he accepts, I cast the spell, I use the skill, I succeed and don't get paradox at all

    Or something else?

Also you gain paradox if your familiar is unnatural or does unnatural things. Your phoenix will generate...

I think the Spirit Quintessence thing also required like spirit 3/4 if using M20 (I think HDYDT or the chart says that? Idk) and it will probably piss them off, as already said.

You do need Prime 3 if you want to 'accept' quintessence or 'give' it to other mages though, which sucks. Both of you have to have it. x.x (And before people start posting 'ACTHUALYL PRIME 0 IS ENOUGH BECAUSE I READ ONE THING' M20 literally states this in HDYDT and maybe in the regular book. So this is the assumption we are using those rules. Just saying 'I don't use that rule' is fine, because I don't ei...

  • Sorcerers don't count as witnesses but one of the books mentions Techno-Sorcerers (IE: Enlightened Citizens) DO count as sleepers because of conditioning/something like that, but regular Technocrats don't.

I think that covers basically every creature/entity.

Also: Tremere Havens count as coincidental for hermetic magick so, go politely tell them to fuck off at their homebase if you ever hear them talking shit.

Mind 2 can be used to change emotions/emotional responses but it generally isn't long term, so you can't really make long term changes in people via Mind but you could bolster your therapy methods by giving off the emotion of calm.

Spirit 2 can be used to actually communicate with spirits so you could ask spirits of healing/nice spirits to watch over people.

Prime 2 can let you shoot kamehamehas so theres always that

M20 says it's about Three months.

    Which is still rather short.

Don't quote me but I /THINK/ there is mention of them trying to perfect sleep teaching in the Revised NWO book.

It may not be complete/have some problems though, and it may not even be in there at all.

TBH I was thinking it could just involve a cannon as a part of its design, or well: Say that the Wonder it self is a broad category "Rain Maker" and there are multiple different types of 'Rain Makers'. Such as, the Cauldron, a Specially prepared cannon with specially prepared cannon balls (Using the old rules for Order of Reason, its 'quintessence' could be the prepared balls), or some combination of both. But the combination of both leans towards regular magickal effect as opposed to Wonder.

I just want an excuse to shoot at the sky with a hunk of metal.

Liches can't raise their Arete anymore but they can raise their spheres to their current Arete. They also completely can not ascend.

The max sphere they need is also only a 4, so you can technically be a lich with 4 arete. However usually example characters have higher arete than spheres. So someone with a max 4 in a sphere might have 7 arete, so you could have a lich with 8 arete and 5 in all spheres.

Usually people become a Lich though because it takes a lot of effort/power to live forever in a way that doesn't suck, hence why they rely on a method that uses 4 in a...

It was something that came out of the TBH book (OR the book that has the TBH in it and talks about ghoul mages) where it says any 'traditional (Key word I think, or something similar) vampire effects you do are coincidental'

Though it says traditional (OR the functional equivalent) so just because YOU KNOW that vampires can flesh mend, doesn't mean flesh mending becomes coincidental for you....you'd have to do something like turning into mist, etc.

It doesn't say you need vampires/other nightfolk surrounding you for this to take effect. So having the blood in you (IE:...

That teleporting requires 1 point of blood (Your max being like, 2 points unless you are a revenant) and using the sorcery path requires a point of willpower + some turns and shit.

I think its a valid price to pay for paradox free mini teleport.

Also: If you have the ghoul merit anyway you can teleport coincidentally using true magick as long as it 'fits the theme of vampires'. So you could disappear in a cloud of mist or some shit and teleport under/through doors.

There is mention if you can scare him into fearing his own death (I think implied with magick) he goes crazy for a bit and leaves you alone.

So debate his ass into thinking he'll die in the next few minutes and we have enough time to get the fuck out.

  • Outside of super cyborgs I guess the 'strongest Technocrats' are just the guys who showed up, hit a button, and nuked the fuck out of Ravnos and then slapped him with a space laser.

I guess being a high ranking Technocrat = Access to the space laser gun.

However keep in mind the Technocracy believe/have information on psychics, so a powerful Technocrat thats a psychic...is basically a reality deviant in the shit they can do. Make people explode, levitate stuff, mind control, etc.

"How do you decide what form the backlash takes?"
Outside of a flaw in the book that makes it so your default backlash is quiet (And it says default ,not just 'the only one you can use', ST can still choose) it depends on the situation /ST.

Being in court and trying to do something rather vulgar? (Badgering the witness into giving up his life secrets might qualify, though it could still be coincidental. Maybe they botch) Would probably warrant a small quiet flaw 'You start thinking something rather specific such as: They are completely innocent' even though you are...
