  • it is your responsibility to keep your beast in check and a kindred that fails at it is a danger to himself, the kine, other kindred and the masquarade so using that excuse is a good way to end up dragged out into the sun (on top of the degradation of your humanity as others have pointed out.) also the beast isn't a separate entity to you which you just share a body with, it's part of you.( like your conscience or your instincts)

  • you might wanna take a look at the description of 'unliving hive' in the V5 corebook.



    i don't expect every ability to have an interesting limitation, my point is more so that it *seems* the writers didn't even consider how to make the limitations of disciplines interesting and that it is an issue the current system is suffering from....

  • the way i see it the V5 discipline system is supposed to give the player more options but still keep their power level limited. the issue being that how they limit their abilities. it's either a hard limit on your abilities or (like with amalgams) they have a cost associated with them that are just dull and uninteresting.

    so as an example of a 'fix' (i'm not a game designer this is just to get my point across): "unliving hive" is an animalism mainly used by the nos and to enforce this they made it an amalgam with obfuscate. i'd suggest that instead of an amalgam you had...
