It's really an attestment of those vampire's power and will, rather than any indication of a greater power. If that was that case, you wouldn't just be able to erase younger kindred's souls....

    • Ravnos: Very situational. With enough money or influence you can avoid it without much trouble. Not like acquiring money would be hard for a Clan with Presence, Obfuscate or Animalism either. Theft, Blackmail, or simply ghouling someone rich and having them pay your bills isn't the most complicated things to do.
    • Hecata: I share Vilenecromancer thoughts here. The Hecata bane is one of the most underrated in terms of how awful it is. Aside from being awful for your humanity, as it is harder to rationalize stealing people's blood when they scream in agony and have a chance to die every time.

  • Yes, with emphasis on the subtle and subconscious. Just slight nudges, indistinct from the Vampire's own thoughts.

There is a very interesting section in Camarilla, where Victoria Ash talks about how she doesn't know if she became the archetypal Toreador because of Clan Culture, or the Blood....

  • To be accurate, V5 just moved a lot of elder powers into lower levels. Rationalize, Mass Manipulation, Shadow Perspective, Animal Succulence, Earthshock, Star Magnetism, Spark of Rage, amongst others were all moved into lower levels....

  • I think all disciplines are useful in V5 and there isn't a single one I wouldn't spend XP in at all, barring specific powers.

But for the sake of discussion, my least favorite is Blood Sorcery. Unless I'm playing a Tremere or Banu Haqim, learning the powers is going to be hard since you need a teacher or something to study to learn those, then even more scrounging for rituals.

Potence is a bit lackluster for combat against kindred at the start, compared to Feral Weapons at least, but it allows you to fight with less worry about the Masquerade, plus Soaring Leap and Uncanny...

    Extremely underpowered.
    • At the apex of Fortitude, dismembering will be next to impossible already, so this won't come into use often. At Fortitude 5, decapitation requires that you deal 15 damage, and it also subtracts 2 successes from being a called shot.
    • Compared to Flesh of Marble or Prowess from Pain, this really can't compete. Flesh of Marble will let you ignore an attack per turn, Prowess can really boost your stats.
    • Strongest part is really surviving decapitation
I'd lower it down to Fortitude 3 and add an amalgam with Oblivion 2. The amalgam mostly because this doesn't seem like a...

  • Those will hopefully come with the player's guide, while its a possibility, wouldn't necessarily expect those from Boston by Night

  • Looking at it from a V5 perspective:

Ghost in the Machine will hide you from any machine detection, there is no indication that motion sensors would work.

In V5, it is always a contested roll, plus not all Vampire with Auspex have Sense the Unseen to do it.

You are highly overestimating how much vampires care about insects. Where do you get that once a vampire enters into a room, they immediately bust out their pest extermination gear?

Larger animals have issues, but rats can get into the walls, ceiling...

  • I've thought of doing something similar, as I 100% prefer the Tremere to the Salubri. And possibly also changing them so that their organization was never quite absolute and splinter houses always existed. Thus allowing the Tremere to fit more into niches, like pagan sorcerers and druids without the burden of metaplot....

  • This is one thing people miss with Methuselahs in general imo. A Methuselah isn't the average senile elderly who lives in a retirement home and can't use a modern phone, the same way some elderly people adapt very well to technology and new things, so should Methuselahs, which are supposed to be the best of the best, having survived for thousands of years. Mithras and Helena are two great examples of this....

  • Until BP 5, it affects hunger very little, unless you feed on animal/bagged blood.

BP 4 is the a great spot to be in, substantial bonus, doesn't up your bane severity or give you higher resting hunger....

  • As for my personal opinions on the matter, I think it is eye-roll inducing to have Mithras be sexist.

Firstly, ancient Iran, where Mithras is from, wasn't as prejudiced as Rome or Athens were. Secondly, living for 3 thousand years and still being prejudiced makes him seem so...dumb, living for all that time and keeping a prejudice that only harms your influence is non-sensical to me....

  • The Cult of Mithras (Or Mithras) has no mention of being sexist in V5 as well, there is even a women as Pater.

Mithras is an ST character, whether "he" allows something or not is dependent on you. Especially considering there is lore supporting it and it isn't at all essential to the character or the cult.

You should first consider why do you want to include Mithras being sexist, and afterwards, if you still really want it, you should talk to your player. Are they familiar with the Mithras from more recent book? Do they want to play a "dealing...

  • Animalism has great utility when you don't want to be noticed or be at a place personally. You can send spies that are unlikely to be noticed, or even possess one and watch through their eyes.

Sending a bird to track your enemy to their haven, using rats to probe the insides, etc....

  • In the context of V5, I'd just allow players to choose from a bracket (11th-13th for the standard game), as resisting Dominate by spending a willpower isn't the most useful thing ever, and the Blood Potency maximum will hardly ever come into play, short of jumping ahead 300 years and giving BP....

  • Is this limited to just once? Even if it is, it's way too powerful. Starting with Humanity 5 or 6 is absolutely worth it for an extra dot of Blood Potency, hell, even 4 is absolutely worth if it. It'd be hard to not pick it.

A bit less, as you are supposed to give bonus 1 xp at the end of each story, but it changes little.

Where does this 5XP cost comes from? Advantages are priced at 3 XP per dot.

If you price each advantage dot at 3, the 7 dots Blood Leech gives grant an equivalent 21 XP, so for a neonate it fits...
