  • I would disagree. I would say "no, but there's something equivalent" since you'd have to go and learn a whole separate rite for it....

  • That can work.

Well the Eshu are rather important conceptually. They are the African kith but they are also the generic wandering adventurer/bard kith. That the Trope definer isn't "Generically" Irish/European is a pretty big deal for them.

This is why in my Yuki-Onna write up I want them to be seen as a proper Kith, not as Gallain but rather "They were born in japan, but the Dreaming has no such boundaries" that the kith should just as readily be useable for the Young Hostess in Kakuriyo, as well as Elsa from Frozen...

  • I mean at least the stories I'm familiar with make the umibozu proper giants and not human sized lizardy people.

That may be why I'm using Ayakashi instead of yokai.

Pooka are European in that England/ireland/wales/scotland are in europe. They aren't Generically European, Kitsune/huli Jing, or Fox fairies as I've seen it translated are far more "Generically Asian" than Pooka are Generically anything. Sidhe have the same damned problem being super specialized on irish myth and pushed to be generic in the breach....

Well the thing is there are two sort of audiences for Vampire or were at the time. Larp and tabletop. Larp being a larger base tends to push the majority of the active supernaturals on players. So you can't have something that resembles the world of Darkness as presented if you let every player play a Revenant mage white howler kin..etc. So "neat one off npc fodder" is a thing.. for larp.

Tabletop is a different animal. It doesn't fucking matter if there's only one Revenant mage in the entire world there's only like 5 pcs in the entire world you are special by dint of t...

  • I am not sure what level of quantum you'd need to make a "dies the Fire" zone, but people would probably work around that with different types of projectiles especially with Talents, Novas and Psychics out there.

The Dune solution might be an option, a nova makes personal forcefields that make bullets obsolette and sufficiently cheap but because of the speed issue swords could pierce it.

  • These are just my ideas. I'm personally going to go with "Crow tengu are werecreatures" "Daitengu are changelings"

Its a compromise between that and Pooka/Hengey have more splats than the rest of the game put together. Of the top of my head I can think of stories of: Snakes, Spiders, Mice/rats, cats, Dogs, Wolves, Bears, Foxes, Racoon-dogs, Cranes, Monkeys, Badgers(who are not tanuki), generic "birds", fish, turtles. This is before I could easily get 13 different Kitsune variants depending on elemental alignment, and whether or not Bakeneko...

  • Well since I'm sort of working out my own version of this idea I'll give you some of my bits as well.

Hsien- are their own supernatural type, They are another type of prodigal. Changelings have a story about how they used to be something(haven't filled this story in yet). Mages say they are the same thing as the Fallen, but paradigm is all to them.

Hengey-are a Kith or group of kiths, or are related to the Pooka. Or perhaps Pooka "kith variants". Rather than having a Tanuki, Inugami, Nekomata, kitsune etc I make a more generic build yourown animal that turns...

  • No they weren't.

No there's not and the Art you are talking about is someone forgetting how Sovereign works for that book.

Misread that, I thought the Nunnehi had sided with the Concordians, unlike in canon timeline where the Nunnehi who did well sided with the Arcadians

You presented them as a united force against the Arcadians rather than people who were at theirown throats with some of them siding with the Arcadians. The issue Concordian Fae have is that half of them betray...

This seems to me a reasonable idea for a feature you can buy with totem points for your pack totem. I'd make it 2 or 3 points only functions with pack/sentai/etc

Yes, wear a tinfoil hat. Ask the Malkavians, tilfoil hats protect you from mind reading.

  • We must have watched two very different movies, in both of the John Wick movies in 4 hours we cover boons, an elaborate secret society of killers, much of their rules and structures. How they hide in the real world from normal people.. all very applicable. The world is built without someone who is blind to it but rather we come to understand it by his actions.

Honestly there are all sorts of ways a vampire who "used to be a badass" returns to a domain can be built up, that way we can start with him being a player in the game not some neonate who has to have the traditions...

    New Birthrights:

Frozen beauty: Yuki-Onna recieve a single dot of appearance that may raise this above their normal cap, further more they may not botch an appearance roll.

A Child of Winter: Yuki-Onna are never hurt by naturally occuring cold, and recieve a two dice bonus to manipulations of ice, snow or the cold(including the art of winter).(is this too op?)

  • I will say again, I could easily do something like John Wick with vampires. A gangrel who tries to pull himself out of the local game gets pulled back in, he used to be The Scourge, but he tried to grow out of it. He's pulled back in, he has boons, favors, and is very angry at someone. You have a nice mix of violence, politicing and keeping shit hidden from the mortals.

Honestly you are thinking too much like older episodic series. An 8 episode series with a focused arc wouldn't hit most of the issues you seem to bring up....

I don't feel like they should be active seductresses but more like their beauty lures people to them, its a passive quality which I think works well with appearance. But its not the awe effect that Sidhe offer but rather a longing.

Well the snow maiden/queen is kind of a fairly common cultural trope(*cough Frozen*cough*) I wanted to call them Yuki-Onna rather than "Snow maidens" and have them start in Japan and spread out into the world(or maybe a rewrite with them as the primary name but a more generic concept like Pooka). While they can be...

I feel like there might be a better way to do their beauty, but the description I was looking at litterally used "Unearthly beauty" to describe yuki-onna maybe a beauty buff and something to do with cold immunity.. hmmm

I wasn't sure if "you can't have this art" is good space for a frailty because its fairly easy to just not buy it. The other bits I feel promote working around it for example the Yuki-onna in Interviews with Monstergirls always wanted to be in air conditioned rooms during summer. So they could do that in the modern world and...
