  • Exactly, Hypereconiomics as a paradigm/methodology doesn't mean Hypercapitalism but if you don't toe the line you get crushed. Its pretty much endemic of the Technocracy as a whole....

I am not saying the Syndicate's ideal was Trump(Well maybe SPecial Affairs Division), just that they aren't hurting particularly and the power of corporations in government is growing and it becomes a question of throwing the Technocracy under the bus for the Syndicate. Or "Wouldn't it be more efficient if we controlled everything? Those other conventions(especially the NWO) are wasting precious resources lets reoganize...

And if the Syndicate had signficant Nephandi/wyrm infiltration well..they wouldn't be hurting at all would they?...

  • That there are outliers doesn't mean there isn't an average. That you can pull out people who learn differently doesn't change that there seems to be some evidence that multiple languages make it easier OR at least its no less realistic than weapons damage..

[quote}This doesn't make any sense as a defense of the geometric Linguistics Knowledge model of pre-20th.

An Ability dot is worth 2 freebies. The value of Linguistics doesn't get cheaper than the Language Merit until Linguistics 5 (at which point you're dealing with 16 languages, and are certainly in...

  • the Keyword there is disability.

And my second point was there is a distinct drop off in usefulness for a character, its alot easier for an st to make knowing 2 languages matter in plot vs 50. So I'm willing to accept learning extra languages is "easier" or at least close enough for the not even close to realism mechanics of the setting and that gamewise knowing 50 languages is more a character quirk than a setting revolver....

The idea of the blood thickening and thinning predates Requiem, you have it play out in classic DA where 13th gen as it, they couldn't embrace period, Modern nights have 14th, 15th gens. So I sort of go with that every so often blood thickens everyone moves up a level and things get harder to stay awake and feast upon people rather than Vampires.. and then elders and so on. JHD even implies there's a method of breaking the cycle

OR the Syndicate could be throwing everyone under the bus, by ceding more and more power to the corporations and turning goverments into vestigial organs who only protect corporate interest is a direction towards unity. And one that happens to deftly put the other 4 conventions subservient to them....

  • Its more complicated because you can have all manner of Syndicate members including those who might push more socialist agendas.(Though they have likely found difficulties on the modern Syndicate).

The Syndicate sees Finance and the act of Trade as the key to Enlightenment(Or the end of all things since they do tend to have HIGH Nephandi infiltraition level)...

  • I like the exponential growth method because spending 1 point to represent being mildly bilingual makes sense to me but there's a drop off rate for how useful an extra language will be after the first plus its easier to learn.

  • No vampire thinks of Finance as a "higher purpose" the Syndicate is filled with people who are searching for Ascension through financial interaction. Money is a tool for a Vampire. Money is a purpose for a Syndicate Agent. They are the true believers in various economic theories.

Compared to gutting the EPA? For all the outrage on the streets governments are still bending over backwards to "protect the job creators" to lower taxes on the rich to remove regulations. All things that gave them control....

  • Spirit don't teach charms they teach lessons that adapted to the nature of Fera become Gifts. So a Garou who wants a custom gift would after the ooc stuff use his knowledge of the spirits to try and find the right one who could teach the concept.

Also Customize Totems and Nushi can buy whatever charm the STs allow so if you really want pcs to have access to it..

Two things lack of native beast breeds doesn't keep a fera group out of the area(or put it in the area or the game would be "Kitsune, Ratkin and some dogs I guess") especially with the beast courts you have homids moving around some of their kin. Second it seems there's some level of truth in setting to hidden relic populations(Rage across the world 20 says there are wolves in Japan for example)
