    Its a reflexive action but its costs a blood and is still limited by the amount of blood he can spend per turn. The fluff also seems to indicate a need to make some sort of ritual gestures of defense. As for Creatures of the night detecting when a spell is being weaved if you See bob the mage doing something.. Yes. If suddenly a fireball is flying at you. Yes. If your Ghoul suddenly rally's their will and finally pulls you out into the sun after years of abuse... is that magic or was that just bad luck? And that i know of Kindred Don't have anything like Sense magic.. they can detect fellow blood...

    I don't think focusing on Defending against the obvious methods of being attacked by ones enemies is bad rp or too powerful. I think the Shere lack of versatility that Perdo Magica makes up for its power. For the same xp he could get conjuring which.. can make any item he can think of. OR he could command spirits. Or he could have dominate to command the minds of mortals and ride their bodies and both would be just as effeciive in handling NON mage problems. He's limiting his capacity to do STUFF for the sake of limited Defense options.

    Does he have no Kindred foes? The mages convincing some Brujah beat stick to handle their problem for you favors is pretty easy there. Perdo does jack shit againt spirits or any other summoned entities and I can't remember if it does anything at all to enchanted items. It just helps.. in the spur of the moment fast casting and MIGHT unweave rituals....

  • Lorewise Garou only really ovelap with the weaker bastet. They were functionally driven from Africa with minor exceptions. They don't seem to have done particularly well in the War of Shame most of their "successes" appear to be in Europe....

    Its the only one available that lets them break their humanity cap. If you are going to go with "Well they could make up any ritual they need" then of course the Tremere always win. There are a variety of costs built into Blood magic like you know being a vampire.. like how they can't spend extra blood to make their paths more powerful. Like how they can't really alter rituals on the fly.. That some of them are really good at not being magiced is a thing.. that''s all that path does....

    No I wouldn't consider it vulgar when "nothing happens". I'd be more prone to letting someone come up with superior countermeasures than raw "I unmagic your shit" but that's my broad setup if someone wants to counter magic a gift or a discpline ala standard methology Prime+spirit for gifts. I'm not sure what difficulties I'd apply for disciplines....

  • Gifts ARE what separates an Ahroun from a Ragabash. Outside gifts they have the same access to traits.




    Garou haveGalabro) 2 str 2 stamina, (Crinos) 4 str, 1 dex, 3 stamina. (Hispo) 3 str, 2 dex, 3 stamina (Lupus) 1 str, 2 dex 2 stamina
    Khan have: (Sokoto) 2 strgh, 1 dex 2 stam (Crinos 3 strth, 2 dex 3 stam (Chatro) 4 str, 2 dex, 3 stam (Feline) 3 str, 2 dex 2 stamina.

    SO asside from that weird situation in Crinos where Garou are stronger over all Khan are generally at least as strong or stronger... hell the Beast...

  • You're looking at it on an in universe level. I'm looking at it from a broader story perspective "1/4 of the antedeluvians in a relatively short period for plot point faked their death for reasons". There are only Two "Successful" antedeluvian Deaths. Brujah and Ravnos.

  • Putting more than one set of mechanics on the same character exponentionally increases the difficulty of running it for the player and the ST. Its the equivalent of giving the player two Pcs. IF you wouldn't have an issue with someone running two separate pcs then you've probably hit all the major issues. This is the major issue.. you will of course have MANY minor exceptions like certain powers being MUCH easier for certain types vs others this heavily shifts what sort of creatures are acceptable antagonists.. for example Autumn Folk are not protected against Gifts, Or Faith, or Sorcery or True...

    Bonsagius, Mercere and Guerinicus are True Lineages. They should have bonuses for being tried and true to the Order. Yes Bonsagius is about inovation but its core innovation not incorporating outside theories.

    Criamon, Meitia and Bjorner are Mystery cults. Each of them is built around an intrinsic mystery. Criamon its their prophesies. Meritia its the Fae and Bjorner its their shapeshifting.

    Jerbiton, Tytalus, Flambeau- are social orders. They are built around a social construct. Flambeau are wizard Knights for example.

  • Generation is a long term investment and is the hardest to raise in game. IF I want to get a mentor I can go out and prove myself to an npc. If I want to control a street gang, I can do that with powers, bloodbonding and some social gaming. IF I want money I can take control of someone Rich. IF I want allies.. I can make Allies. I if I want Retainers.. that's something any vampire can make with a couple of days time.

    But Generation is hard even in a Sabbat game to properly raise.


    Honestly Though I think Fame is the harder background to deal with in a game about...
