  • Clanbook Assamite page 44. "TO perform the Breaking, ur-Shulgi crafted a unique Ritual that allowed him to borrow a portion of the magical power of every vampire descended from him. As over two-thirds of the assamite sorcerers can trace their ancestry to ur-shulgi, this ritual affected all but a handful of them. This ritual's effects lasted in full for a year and a night, then gradually faded over the next year. Between 1998, and the latter part of 2000 all sorcerers found themselves diminished in strength for hte purposes of all blood magic, not just "foreign" practices. and were...

  • Yes that's why other clans didn't help them out. But Tremere did the majority of work eating them. Of course Saulot threw them under the bus so its kind a mixed thing. Point is lots of diablere was happening to the salubri before

You heard wrong, as of Clan book assamite it took a year and a night, and while I misremembered how much blood was taken its a blood point from every sorcerer, and they powered it functionally for 2 years or so, so not "he waves his hand and tremere magic is gone". It still an impressive feat though....

  • Tremere did eat his way down the Salubri Line, as did most of his would be clan. There's a reason why salubri are considered functionally extinct in the West.

Spending a year on the ritual and using up 1 point of blood from every clan member per night during said year is not something I'd call easy. An impressive feat to be sure but it is an impressive feat that's the point....

  • Since WOD has things like all the creatures in Australia, nothing like Noah's flood can be reconcilable with it sans "Gaia/God created all the creatures in Australia after the flood because.. reasons"(or Volcanos shooting koala bears as super sonic speeds!)

So we reasonably have to tone down the deluge(and whether or not it happened at all, whether the 3rd gens weren't a bunch of Renegade elders who ran away from their duty so they could sit thickening their blood and eat their childer are different arguments.

I personally like Green Sahara to have been the...

I was going to make an arguement that Chimera are basically solid aspects of the dreaming, thus not do agg/unsoakable.. but the more I thought about it the mythic ressonence of the Dreaming would probably treat it similar enough so.. maybe Soakable agg?

I'd say the JHD gave a nice Middle finger to Noddism and since that's as close to canon as a Metaplot book will be for v20.. suffice to say there's more than enough evidence against it between Drowned Legacies and the Laibon "True story".

Hell as of Revised Metaplot Saulot basically didn't accept Noddism I mean that was his big thing, Caine tells him this whole story about being the third mortal.. he then travels to china and finds the Civilization apparently existed for thousands of years before "Creation according to caine"

    Even the power of Faith...

The Noble Houses are the source of Title for your average Kithain. A pooka knight is going to be in a one of the 14 Houses. The Mer have theirown houses, the Menehune their own source of nobility, The Oba etc....

And its also been a title that Nobles have been appointed to. Its been an elected position as well. Its been used to cover alot of things historically but to sum up its generally been used for "person who runs town" which is how its being used in the book. Someone might be Mayor of the Thrope but also a Knight of the Red Branch. So they could have both an elected position and a Noble position too.

Or someone could just want to be "Lord Mayor' and since they have a big ass freehold where multiple Kithain live in people go "yes Lord Mayor"....

Could you explain to me what the "concept" of a mayor is then? Because it HAS been historically used as a Noble Title. It has also been used as an an official appointed by a Noble to oversee a Town he owns. So if you're going to say "The Dreaming intrinsically considered Mayorship a democratic concept" I'm going to profoundly disagree....

Mayor is having Dots in Holding. There are all sorts of Freehold ownership models that come with Dots in Holding that have nothing to do with feudalism. The character owns and takes care of the holding, they may even have people who have various duties under their control. Your uppity Arcadian sidhe would think this is an abomination and something to take over the the Dreaming is less compelled by this.

There is also a separate background called Title. That plays into the whole medevial paradigm and allows one to play with Sovereign. The Pure commoner mayor would be incapable...

  • I think you are conflating two things. I don't feel supernaturals should be able to see into the dreaming. I think they should be able to engage in things like they are described doing such as an active emnity between the Get of Fenris and Sidhe without the werewolves completely forgetting what happened.

And no, creating a new Rite/merit/etc doesn't help this at all. It the whole air breathing mermaid thing(both declaring mermaids can't breath air and then coming up with methods for them to do so).

Really all I'm saying is Prodigals who interact regularly with changelings...

It doesn't generally have different XP costs though. My reading since L:TC doesn't say anything is that you'd buy it ala DA where it Quietus first became multipathed.

Elders don't pay extra for a second Level 6 variant they buy it at inclans if its inclan....
