    Site Source.

Garou are barely ok with good PEOPLE. Kindred aren't people. Golconda isn't going to matter at all. Its just going to appear as another trick. That's all "this leech doesn't smell of the wyrm" means to them. Its a vampire trick.

That being SAID, People politic with their enemies. That doesn't mean people LIKE eachother but there were mountains of treaties between the USSR and the USA. If the Kindred are going to offer a deal that can be enforced by Garou powers.. well there's worse wyrm spawn to hit first.

    Hell maybe the prince will...

  • Having come back to this after a month I had a very different take than before. There has been some implication by Pooka Knight that the Empire of Flickers isn't to use COD terminology an x splat but rather a Y splat. That its a mix of Mannikin, Solimoids and possibly other Phyla who've joined together in a New Empire.

So what does this have to with The Digital Web? Well what if the Empire of Flickers is playing the Same game as the VAs and Technocracy? They come as conquerors. Formatting the Digital web into something as much Dreaming as Digital. Let the Earth be bound in the Autumn.....

I Feel like that space might be better worked with by expanding Totems. Make each of the Totems a "mini Tribe" ala werewolf(or Lodge ala forsaken)...

  • Yes it is. Its not supposed to be good for you. Like Sith Philosophy the "diablere is awesome" is meant to be hollow. Its meant to be a lie. Its meant to justify a quick and dangerous path to power. The reason why every person on Golconda successfully leaves vampire society is because its a game you cannot win. Every move is just a different method of losing. Diablere's "Loss" condition is becoming someone's new body of a wight.

Actually lets consider instead how many vampires become wights even without Diablere. How many vampires are expected to survive even...

  • I feel like your mechanics for a game which has meth and heroin in it would be "These should just give people superpowers because if not players won't use them". How do you balance that it is SUPPOSED To be addictive but also REALLY bad for you?...

I'm just going to leave my Snark here and say Trek isn't based on Hard Tech.. having all sorts of Random Q-tech being bolted to the ships that the crew barely understands would explain all the impossible effects for the Holodeck creating Sapient life for example. Or Teleporting to the wrong universe...

So my thoughts on Guilds; The Bes Din covers more or less all the maker groups further dividing them along the way.. I want to have 5 other Guilds so 6 total. My thoughts currently.

The Road Guild-Primarily seen as an Eshu thing this you post office, communication and on some level your big traders.

The War Guild-These are of course seen as primarily Redcap and troll, but creates a standard and liscencing for various Mercenary brotherhoods.

The Lawyers/Bankers-with how important oaths and contracts are this one seems pretty obvious

    I am kind...

I think you brought up a good point, but most of these already have answers. Or in cases where there's not, it's much easier to explain.

First, the decline of the Pure Ones is well established in the game. It's part of the general lore that they lost an entire third of their numbers when the Croatan perished fighting the Eater-of-Souls. We also know that from history lots of diseases greatly reduced the Native American populations. That was going to have some kind of impact to the Uktena and Wendigo Garou at some point, and there isn't much...

  • I feel mildly dissappointed with this as it doesn't seem to engage in UFOLOGY lore or cryptozoology. I am impressed with all it does.. but it doesn't quite fill the niche I was hoping for.

The Noble I have who's "Lucky" enough to have an area where there's alot of potential Freeholds.. but not many freeholders has started the capture and fight of chimera as part of the "Rites" of starting to build a Freehold. Its full on Old school Roman style. The Great beasts are given every chance to win and if they do.. well they can keep the area! IF a hero wants to claim it.. well look there's a sacrifice ready!

  • Same Reason Native Americans hit a far worse decline? Or the Irish were conquered by the British and the Potato famine happened? The more you allow supernaturals to Guide history the more you have to give them responsibility for. Wolf deaths like Indiginous people deaths seem to have happened RELATIVELY quickly. You go on a spirit quest for a few months and by the time you're back all the wolves are gone.. Revenge isn't going to bring them back.

Same with the fact that in the US at least we know there was almost a third war of rage over territory with whites vs Purelanders thoughout...

there was a massive uprising of phoenixes who were Muslim and opressed by the Quincunx in an almost PAINFUL mirror of PRC actions in East Turkistan.

Bible is filled with people.. why should they believe in Caine? Maybe they believe they are the descendents of Abel risen from the grave to avenge themselves on the Children of Cain(mortals) there is definately a reading of Seth being retconned into the Biblical canon well after it was origionally written....

  • back when Mages could cure the curse of caine and let you keep all your cool vampire powers but none of the weaknesses. Suffice to say I'm not a big fan of Npc exceptionalism driving PC goals? The attainability for Golconda for pcs has always been debatable and even if it was the case of it being an all or nothing end of game event rather than something broken up into pieces showing growth over time.

I would even argue that Golconda probably should be harder on Humanity given that Humanity is fundimentally static in nature.

That is more or less what I was imagining... actually I was more imagining something like Fading Suns but with changelings. So you have Noble Houses. Merchant(and other) guilds and maybe Church Orders.

Everyone who Matters is part of something(and plenty of people who don't)....
