  • Is that the same sidebar which says souls can be stolen and used to learn their owner's legacy? Because sculpting the soul is entirely still one effect of joining a legacy?...

  • I don't know where it says this in 2e but this is exactly how i would run things. You can be initiated into a legacy which works for you, and then develop a personal version of it if you don't like what you find... Alternatively every member of the legacy could have a slightly different capstone attainment, (and there might only be a few members with the 5th attainment) while still considering themselves to be one clique......

Pretty sure life 4 is all you need, since you are not Making or Unmaking anything, can't use Life 5....

    2. Is more interesting in some ways, but also isn't lichdom, right? Of you lose your soul and become a fragment of what you once were... It seems more like a messed up way to grow replacement parts for your legacy.

But since newly awakened mages begin with Gnosis 1, it is a bit of a ghostly master and (not even initiated) legacy member...

This is more interesting because what happens when the fragment is exorcised, but the awakened mage is still a member of the legacy... Or they die and now you may need to find two bodies for both the original fragment and the new one....

  • I would say no. The Sun is not included in the AoE and light you brought from the past will take mircoseconds to disperse... Symbolically you are bringing things from the past to the present, and in the present there is no sunlight....

  • There is only one spell to target, not multiple subjects? So yeah, cast the spells multiple times if you want to have multiple spells (at the cost of spell control)....

  • Modifying a supernal spell is probably Archmastery, apart from during casting or Dispelling.

But generally, Prime seems to be everything. Ephemeral Enchantment does more than death, mind, and spirit put together. Word of Unmaking affects all magic items (apart from Supernal artifcats) which given the context of Words of Command includes Werewolf Fetishes, Geist Mementos, and Changeling Tokens...

Pretty much every example prime spell which is keyed to Magic (as opposed to Resonance or mana/Tass) includes all magical effects, except Dispel magic. So it seems quite the...

  • Most of the time they don't require conjunctional Arcana when possible. If you could borrow threads, or transfer the space effect, that would let you mess with them with Space alone (because if it is a sympathy think sympathic connections are entirely within the purview of Space).

That said, there is more than one way to skin a cat, so i still think Time could wear out the effect so it ends as if it has run out of duration, or Death could weaving an ending to cause it to end prematurely (possibly requiring making if it has no ending to weave)...

  • Prime is an odd one because it has Magic within its purview, and it is unclear if that means Supernal Magic only or all Magic. Like Supernal Vision and Prime Mage Armour bith work on generic supernatural phenomena (Supernal Vision with +1 reach), but word of Command needs additional Arcana to activate magic items.

Supernal Veil can hide any Supernatural creature or active magical phenomenon from detection, but dispel magic is specifically Supernal Magic.

I think with enough effort (scrutiny, preparation etc) a mage should be able to use Prime to suppress Theban Sorcery...

  • I'm pretty sure it is personal, but flooding it with mana messed up the Opacity for everyone (like flooding a car engine with petrol... Is that still a thing?). You may understand a mystery, but others will lack the insight.

  • Sin-eaters are technically dead, but also walk around like living things. I think the use Death too.

Demons are special and appear to be human, spoofing any powers with their cover. But the God machine is em... Prime and fate, i think.

Prometheans are weird... Deviants are each unique.

  • Create a golem (Matter 4 Patterning), and transform it into a Shadow (Death 4 Patterning), maybe do it as a combined spell.
