  • Uh...sure I guess? I don't think there's anything in the book about persistent Conditions dropping off due to the Embrace.

Some of them would have their effects lessened I suppose. Or exacerbated. That would be an interesting type of horror -- the chronic over-eater being unable to ever keep anything down, or perhaps it translating into an inability to keep from exsanguinating their victims.

Okay but the costs and consequences of humans fighting back within/alongside an organization so powerful that it gives them anything from super-tech, to magic, to ancient artifacts is that they're going to end up getting corrupted.

Large organizations get corrupted like that almost by their very nature in our world, and there are (ostensibly) no mind-bending/controlling/breaking supernatural powers in organized societies here.

You're more than free to headcanon and homebrew your own take on Hunter, and have in run the way you want. But, like Arc said, the corruption...

  • Ah, yeah, that all makes sense. Between the "Mortals walk the streets, and there is a humming in the back of their lizard brains [...] The Mortal wants to hum along to the Cacophony." and the. . .sometimes outrageousness of Cacophony Savvy (the second dot letting you, without any rolls or ways to resist, discover any new Kindred's favored places to feed and names they go by, without any sort of qualifiers or conditions), I felt it best to ask around and see if there was something I was missing. Thanks!...

I wing it, really. I'm currently running a long-term Vampire game (both in that it's going to be running for a while, and in that it's covering roughly 600 years of time), and there's a pretty wide range of NPCs. The biggest thing I keep in mind is kind of two-fold: 1) PCs are naturally disruptive to the order of things. This is both in the sense that player are kind of just. . .agents of chaos sometimes, and in that they progress at a faster rate than normies do, and 2) NPCs cover a wide range of archtypes, from Vampires that are just smart and strong enough to survive, but not to really advance,...

  • For the rare times I get to play instead of run, my character's progression from Mortal to Hunter typically involves a lot of D&D-style looting. I'll at best start with a pistol or some sort of shotgun/rifle, and typically don't play characters with much money. But for every gun, wallet, or whatever I pick up, my options tend to grow (and typically whatever plot I'm involved with involves a high amount of "OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT", so taking measures like looting the dead is within reason/"reason"). I can't count the number of times I've sold a gun or two to some pawn shop,...
