  • My default is also rounding down, but that springs less from D&D and more from "you can't subtract .5 dice". But, like the previous answer, that doesn't mean I'm RIGHT. Just that it's the way I do things....

  • Hey buddy! Thanks for the detailed answer! My problem with Protean 5 isn't really the "incredibly difficult to harm" part, since as you said, that's kind of a a theme with Gangel. It's the ability to kill people while being nigh-unkillable -- except by people with some appreciable form of fire, which outside of actually weaponizing it, is just torches and such. It's not an impossible position, obviously, it just turns every fight into "do his opponents have enough fire on them to stop him from entering their lungs and eating them".   • My apologies if this has been covered before, but: could someone help me out with the Pestilence Condition (Beast Player's Guide, page 86). It comes from the Satiety-expenditure portion of the Plague Bearer Atavism. I'm specifically confused about what sort of rolls the victim makes -- the "cure" part is clear, but I'm not sure what sort of rolls the victim should be making as the disease progresses. I'm assuming it's pulling off of the Normal version of the Atavism, where people make their resistance roll ever 12-[Lair] hours, and Pestilence's details on damage and severity overriding...

  • So I'm running a long-term game (will span 600 years or so, starting at 1705) and I'm kind of having a little bit of a problem with Protean 5. As it stands, I've let people know that I'm restricting 5s in non-physical disciplines until further notice, but at some point the Gangrel at the party will end up getting it. How to challenge the group of them in a fight is already a thing I have to think about, and the ability to turn into blood-drinking mist is, at first blush, the pinnacle of that.
