  • Actually, in my games I have ruled that deep cover agents still participate in the Vaulderie, by receiving shipments of blood from their packs back home, and others during big festivals. Detecting these shipments can be s way of unmasking one of these agents...

  • That was exactly why I started this thread. My understanding is now that they must fade with time, regardless of what some books may say, for the whole thing to make sense...

  • That's exactly what 1st edition used to be about. The corebook included a cute little comic about an Elder who Embraces a married man because he reminds her of her old flame back in the time of Babylon. But he manages to kill her using sunlight and he becomes human again....

  • In my opinion, it's a mixed bag, but it has some really good things. I have adapted one of the adventures (the one in Milwaukee and Indianapolis) to my game and used some elements from the setting in mine. Regarding the other ones, I like some of it vibes but hasn't found the way to use them in my current game....

  • You have a good point about Damien. I disagree Rose was was a useless character, though, she has her uses in the original V1 and her Animal Liberation Front angle has become even more prominent since. I would have gone exactly the opposite way with her, and would have made her a diehard Anarch terrorist figure, launching attacks against corporate interests....

  • The idea of playing a Neonate who has to choose between joining a flawed Anarch movement or sell out to the Elders is THE original spirit of the game. If you read the early V1 modules, that's what's all about. The choice is heavily handed introduced in the first module ever: Ashes to Ashes.
Now, as a old school V1 ST and an Anarch sympathizer, I am really happy that they tried to rescue the original concept of the game. On the other hand, I believe it has been badly implemented, the way the Anarch movement has been artificially resurrected is quite bad.
Regarding V1 and V5 CbN continuity......

  • I have recently started a character after decades with playing and have managed to avoid making enemies so far. But I am pretty sure this won't last.

I know. But there are exceptions. And certain paths would not be completely out of place in the Camarilla....

That was my original idea and I am happy to see that most people agree.
Now, a couple more specific questions about Vinculi fading
Should higher ratings fade more quickly or more slowly (relatively) to lower ones?
And, at what point are you vulnerable to a Blood Bond? When all ratings are at 0?...

That's exactly what I am thinking. Small rating Vinculi are probably easy to shake off...

Actually, I am ST a Camarilla game. The PC's have recently captured a Sabbat member and may capture more in the future, as they are trying to stop a siege.
As part of the game themes, we are exploring the possibility of helping some of these prisoners defect....

    Leaving the Sabbat

How possible is to leave the Sabbat? According to V20 manual, Vinculi don't fade with time. But in canon we have a character (Giangaleazzo) who has not only done it, but killed all the Sabbat members in his city. Not to mention the whole V5 Lasombra mass defection.
Has any of you ST's allowed a PC or NPC to leave the Sabbat and under what circumstances?

    Part 1. The set up.
The Mask receives a call from Lodin's second in command. Terence Merick, Prince of Milwaukee and a good ally of Lodin has reported a few incidents of murders that break the Masquerade during the last week; he claims the nomadic pack that killed Balthazar may have returned to Milwaukee and be responsible. They are tasked with finding out whether this pack is still in Milwaukee and, if that's the case, finding them, asking Merick for permission to act. They are not supposed to fight the pack, but to support the new Sheriff of Chicago and her team in doing it.
