  • Wow! What a clean and truthful counterpoint!

    You are very right, that was a shallow argument to make. I got carried away in trying to be funny and ended up weakening my stance.

    Thanks!

    Yeah, ok Aquillion, thank you for being so knowledgeable about me and telling me what I'm actually thinking or thought.

    Here I was thinking I was an expert on myself, but lo and behold, you show up and dazzle me, showing me insights about myself I never imagined!

    AMAZING!

    PS: All the rest is just repeat though, I'm sad, for your and my wasted time.

  • Not really Charlaquin, I started the thread to talk about Birth of the Nation, and peoples right to produce and consume things of that nature, and stuff like that, like I said on the first post...

    I even talked about gore and shock films and things of that nature... I wanted to discuss speech rights in regards to offensive, harmful and shocking content. It was not my intention to discuss bikini chain mail. That was a sidetrack brought on to the thread by another poster, to which I basically said;

    "Don't forget to bring a towel..." and proceeded to be Towlied....

  • DISCLAIMER:

    This is NOT the "Female Sexual Objectification in Fantasy Art Discussion" thread.

    Talking about this in a thread about freedom to produce and consume art, and the proper time and place to criticize such art, is just screaming "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!". It is not central to the topic at hand, and is thread drift.

    This discussion is intended to be philosophical (drivel?) about freedom to produce and consume art, when and where to criticize it. If you want to argue that it is always right to criticize "harmful art", that...

    That first quote you referenced was in this thread, which I made to elaborate more on how I feel about the things described on the topic and first post. I said nothing of the sort on the Inspirational Art Thread. So, no I didn't try to silence them where they were speaking, I made a general statement, that is all. I was talking in a whole other place about my views on it. Not badgering them, not forcing nothing down anyone's throat, not protesting, nothing of the sort. I created a place to speak my mind, as is the polite thing to do.

    Now if you want to follow...

    Satchel

    My post is totally clear. You were just sleepy, which is fine.

    People seem to have a problem with being wrong, making amends/corrections and moving along.

    Sorry for bothering you Satchel, I will move along.

    My post is three short sentences, the last of which clearly spells out the issue, I quoted the relevant sentence. It is not lacking clarity.

    Why not just say;

    "Oh I read that wrong, I was sleepy!"

    ?

    Why make this about something that it is not about?...

    I was explaining why I wouldn't want Flock mixing with other Vitae access Merits, and how Flock is very powerful and thematic for the Lance, to a different query of a different poster.

    EDIT: And your statement significantly affected Flock's usefulness so I felt a need to bring attention to it, without badgering you about it....

    The point I responded to is very clearly stated in my response.

    I say;

    "From what I can remember, and how we always played, the Merit says you have access to a certain pool of Vitae per week, and that to feed you must have a minor interaction with your Herd.

    I don't recall any restrictions on how many times you may visit your Herd per week"

    How much clearer do I need to be? I quoted the relevant sentence, and I don't think anyone is disputing the amount of Vitae gained, so... What else is there?...

    I would be more amneable to a Circle version of the Temple of Damnation than of Flock. The rationale for Flock is that the Predation you visit on your Flock strenghtens them, it is too involved with the ethos of the Lance, and I don't see it translating well to the Circle's take on the relatioship between Kindred and Kine.

    If you have Flock 5, then you also have Herd 5, so that gives you 20 Vitae per week, and a potential 10 Willpower points per week. Which is a very vast pool of resources. I wouldn't want that combining with other ways to access free Vitae, like the Mandragora Garden...

    Not rules as written.

    If the ST thinks it makes sense, and doesn't have any balance concerns through the mixing of Covenant specific Merits, then anything goes, right?...

    And where does it say it has to be all in one go?

    It says take up to twice your rating in Vitae per week. So if you have Herd 3, you can take up to 6 per week with no roll. Could be six times taking one Vitae each, 2 taking 3, 3 taking 2, etc... As long as it remains rating x2 per week....

    Hey Vance,

    Is this a reversal? I could have sworn that poison penalties were for rolled actions only, including a clarification by you that it didn't for example, affect Defense...

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks for clarifying!...

    Also consider that the workings of the God Machine are as unscrutable as any Great Old One's.

    So if you want to explore the whys you can, but if getting to know the whys of the GM is not part of this, you don't need to devote time to figure out something of no consequence to the story.

    It is part of the God Machine's horror, you can't fathom how it works or why it does shit.

    We play as it making your Herd bigger, and you only get WP when feeding from those of your Herd that are also your Flock.

    Its like you have a group of followers (Herd), and within that group there is another group of particularly devoted followers (Flock), who get a special benefit from your Predation, and who benefit you specially when Feeding from them....

    I'm away from the book right now, but, where are you getting this from?

    From what I can remember, and how we always played, the Merit says you have access to a certain pool of Vitae per week, and that to feed you must have a minor interaction with your Herd.

    I don't recall any restrictions on how many times you may visit your Herd per week....

    This thread and the arguments contained in them are pretty long, spread and tiresome. I'll do my best to address some of your points, but I won't go through all the gender issues stuff again, my view on them seems pretty clear, and I don't think you want to discuss them per se, so I'll move on to clarify my view some things you've said.

    1. Me "jumping on Cheshire's throat" and trying to silence them.

    I'm sorry, but I don't see any instance of that. I didn't even address them directly, didn't ask them not to criticize, didn't ask the to...
