There has been some discussion of this with Rich here and on the MMN comments. I believe the outcome was "yes, there will be a compilation, and they are studying a form of either giving a discount or the pdf to people who bought the individual chapters". I may be wrong though, this is from memory....

Does FMP recovery roll allow for 10-again, and is that what TLM refers to when it says that a roll enhanced by the Charm is allowed to return more exp than what was invested?

Well, I admit this is a bit of circular reading, and we operated under your same assumption that points faded after the re-roll until Vance made the clarification a while back. And we didn't finish a story yet to really get into the particular of the rolls in the new model.

    But the Charm says:

"This Charm explicitly allows the Solar to gain...

This was stated in this thread already, a while back. And I explained it in my post. So, since committed exp doesn't fade, but accumulates until you recover, with Tireless Learner Method, you will eventually recover more than you invested, dependending on your luck.

Or create a circular pool of committed exp, if you use the Charms every story....

    Not a DEV:

    1. No, you can't reuse something that is committed to something else. You can commit other experience to fuel the Charm. Though at the end of the story you roll all committed exp, so you will eventually recover all your exp if you stop using the Charm. But if you use it every story you create a circular pool of committed exp, which is not too shabby if you keep in mind that with the right Charms you are able to win back more exp than what you put in.

    2. I would say that everyone has to be trained on the same thing, it's like you´re teaching a class. But the...

I don't mind language, I have myself had to moderate my posts quite a bit after being the target of a few moderations by the community management. So, personally you're forgiven. But I would advise a bit more restrain on the future, if you don't want to be formally chastised by those who can do that.

One thing I would like you to pay attention to is that I didn't call you prejudiced. I believe people are far too complex to be judged through a forum.

I called your thoughts and views on the subject prejudiced. Because the way you expressed them...

You can eyeroll until your eyes look like rolling slot machines.

Doesn't change the fact that your prejudiced views are just that, prejudiced views. Nothing keeps a one armed person from being a master of Single Point Shining into the Void. Nothing keeps a double leg amputee with magic prosthetic legs from being a Solar Athlete. Nothing keeps a paraplegic from being a Solar Bureaucrat/Occultist/Linguist/Mastermind/etc...

And none of that makes them B-list to your "perfect bodies" A-list.

You think that any disability a person has makes them antithecal...

I believe the context for "human ability" and "Abilities" is what is the core of the situation here.

You are considering "general biology" as a "human ability", while the game proposes "skills", not biological functions, as the core of a Solar´s capability.

So it has practically nothing to do with biology or the laws of physics, but with what could be achived through dialing Abilities to fantastically absurd levels.

Healing fast is a characteristic attributed to many athletes,...

Prasad is a new locale in the Ex3 core. It is by the Dreaming Sea and is home to a Dragon Blooded aristocracy. That is from memory, maybe a bit off. But I'm sure it is a Db run Society and pretty sure that it is in the Dreaming Sea....

  • That was toned down a lot in Ex3. And the previous devs had spoken on it a bit. The physics of the world are no longer "least god interactions", but just a function of reality.

We even have a recent question on the Ask the Devs thread where Eric says the vagueness is on purpose, that STs sghould adjust to their liking. He cautions on taking the "gods everywhere" approach and says he personally sets the game where even certain towns or villages having a god is not a foregone conclusion. So definately moved away from "you have angered the god of this sheet of...

  • For there to be need to use the system there has to be conflict. Or else just give them the seat and a parade.

Understand that just because they saved these people it does not mean that these people now think they should govern them, or even have a say whatsoever in their day to today lives.

You can start by thinking up a few antagonists for this social skirmish. These can range from truly concerned people to assholes who don't more fingers in the pie. But they all should have a reason for why they don't want the newcomers acquiring power. Desing their Intimacies. And...

  • Going by the text you quoted, it says "...after the murder..." so that may be a very long time. Even today (in Creation) it is still "after the murder". And even today we still have standing, albeit abandoned, temples to the UCS. Which suggests the purge wasn't as complete, violent or symmetric as one would think.

Since the process of said dismantling is not discussed in detail, we sholudn't take these genarilities to be too limiting or let them impose on our suspension of disbelief. If them going balls to the walls on the UCS Faith irks you, nothing you quoted...

  • While I didn't ead the whole discussion on this, I don't think it is that absurd to go and dismantle a Faith, even one as dominant as the UCS's when you have Fate Ninjas and Elemental Super heroes bearing down on it.

It doesn't say it happened overnight (I think, I haven't read the books). It might as well have taken centuries for it to be so largely forgotten. Add to that 2 cataclysmic events that, mathematically, decimated the population and the establishment of a NWO with a new religion you are oblkigated to follow and it is not that unimageniable to see how a once dominant religion...

As much as I'd like it to be true, I'm not a psychic and had no way of telling that was the case.

If he had stated he was in such a game in the beginning and that he was trying to figure out a way to use Steel Devil and still contribute, he would have gotten different respones, such as Alucard's Stealth suggestion, and what I alluded to mixing in Charms from different Abilities.

Instead the post was "Steel Devil is crap, anyone care to contest?"

Which draws the expected kind of response....

You're stretching the significance of the response you've had so far. A lot. This is a topic that has only been up for a few hours, of a workday.

Many people that read it won't reply. If you´re really interested in knowing people's experience with Steel Devil, instead of seeking white room battles with whoever answers your call you should type "Steel Devil" into the search function and read what comes up.

I remember at least one person saying they played a character with it and if I recall correctly they were satisfied.

I have only played a Brawl...

Max statting white-rooming is not the definitive word on a character's viability.

There is no such thing as a perfectly balanced game, specially not one with the mechanical heft of Ex3.

"Winning" is not the only reason to have combat capability. Surviving and helping others win are also important.

If you want to be "the Best", you should probably branch out and get Charms from other Styles and Abilities.

Why would someone pick Steel Devil over SPSItV?

Because it is a viable combat option against most things in...

Part of this has been answered in this thread already. You roll every non-recovered committed exp until you recover it.

Second part wasn't asked. But since you can eventually recover that exp, and the complications of LSC, I would say that it doesn't matter if the student is irrelevant. The known way to recover the committed exp is insurance enough for it to not matter....
