There were lots of discussions regarding tiers and scale, the most heatly discussed is probably this one: http://forum.theonyxpath.com/forum/m...ions-and-scale

Take one hour off, have some coffee and a snack, sit down, and enjoy the thread/show. ...

Another possible source for inspiration for alien worlds, sometimes with ecosystems, is the Gatecrashing book from the very good and sometimes sinister Eclipse Phase RPG (check it out, man!): https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product...e-Gatecrashing

Edit: I removed the link to the "free" version of the PDF as requested by Ian below and replaced it with the link to DriveThruRPG.

Also note that the PDFs for the Eclipse Phase RPG are Creative Commons, so if you manage to get your hands on them without bying that's completely fine, as the creators say. However,...

If you need inspiration on alien life you could visit the Orion's arm website (https://orionsarm.com/). It describes a hard sci-fi setting where trans-/posthumanity expands across the galaxy and finds plenty of alien life. Be prepared, there's _lots_ of stuff to read. A good starting point could be http://www.orionsarm.com/eg-topic/45bd210a5cbe1.

I don't know about Scion, but I think that psions are like every other human or talent except for their psionic powers. So they can blast things using their minds, ok, but automatically making them better at anything (even hair cutting competitions) compared to a normal just because of innate scale doesn't seem right to me (*). Same counts for novas IMHO. The mega attributes of 1e could easily be translated into scale, but if not boosted somehow even a nova wouldn't be any better than a normal human.

I think it'd be better if powers, gifts, equipment etc. would explicitly state that...

My understanding ist that each path begins with one dot. No official statement about this yet, however. (Or I missed it.)

    Edge "Adrenalin Spike", p. 59:
"She can ignore an Injury Complication one time per day [...]"
Ignore for one single roll? For a single round? Something else?

    Artifact edge:

In the core book, p. 65: Can the "Artifact" edge only be taken by Talent characters? What if my psion wants his own spaceship or so? Is there some kind of edge similar to the old 1e background "Device" which can take care of this? Would this edge cost be similar to that of the old background?

What if my character wants to have an item which is not super-science, but some kind regular, but too-expensive (not possible with the wealth edge), item, like a tank, mentioned starship, a big yacht or mansion etc.? Can this be covered with the...

    Initiative, p. 79:
"Each player rolls, as well as the Storyguide for Storyguide Characters."
Rolls what? The answer is found elsewhere, p. 99: "Each player rolls the lower of Athletics + Cunning or Empathy + Dexterity."

When looking up the initiative rolls in the table of contents I get p. 79 for initiative and don't find the requested information. This is another example of what I meant when I said in another thread the information is spread through the book, making looking up things unnecessarily frustrating.

    Skill specialties, p. 45:

So a specialty in a skill (e.g. pistols for Aim) can only be used for OTHER skills as an enhancement? Not when shooting the bad guys using pistols?

Also, a three-point enhancement as a free bonus when using pistols at Aim 5? Wow, though admittetly I didn't playtest yet, so don't really know if this is too high or not.

Also see this thread for more skill specialy questions:

  • Metabolic Control (p. 213):

So you can multiply/divide the time of bilogical functions (e.g. breathing, healing) by number of successes. Later sentence says:
"The character can spend additional successes to further change this rate on a one-for-one basis."
This doesn't make sense, as you already spent your successes. Are psi points meant here instead of successes?

    Some questions about paths:

    About assets:

    p. 40: "The character does not have a connection to all of these groups; the player must choose one."
So you have _one_ group connection (even if more than one are plausible for the path) per path

What about assets (p.40)? Here no such restriction is mentioned. Does this mean that assets not chosen at path creation, made up on the fly during play with common sense? I mean, the finger print database example in the book is one of many possible accesses for a police chief path. Would sound a bit...

    p. 80: Moving and maneuvering
The text in the first paragraph revers to "range bands (p. XX)", but range bands seem not to be defined/explained anywhere, though this term is mentioned a lot in the Core and Aeon PDF. What is a range band? Examples:

Aeon book, p. 196: "This includes the same range band categories: close, short, medium, long, extreme, and out of range."
So, the different ranges ARE the range bands?

Aeon book, p. 256, Blink power: "The character teleports no more than a single range band [...]"
    I understand...

The errata thread says: "address only typos, layout glitches, misplaced elements, and similar errors. If it's merely a matter where you'd have phrased something differently, that's not errata, and should go in a different thread."

So I get it that topics like this should not go into the errata thread. Also, even more important IMHO, I really hope that the devs read the other (non-errata) threads as well in this forum.

[RANT]As a side note I notice that quite some questions in other threads about the new rules are left unanswered. I can only hope that they...
