    LOADING SARCASM MODE.................

    I've been building up the courage to say it, and with so many of these minorities (Trump supporters, Christians, other normative groups) "coming out" as what they are, I think I can do it finally.

    I am a Caucasian adult male cisgender heteronormative (but some of those transwomen look awfully good) not-quite-athiestistic Taoist Absurdist bear.

    There! I said it! I feel so much better!

    SARCASM ROUTINE COMPLETED.

    No Tao today!

    Celebrating my Irish ancestors today!

    HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!

    ((yeah, yeah, I know, the Catholic saint that drove out all the old ways isn't really an appropriate holiday for a non-Catholic, but whatever))

    Daily Tao, short one today:

    The Tao is called the Great Mother:
    empty yet inexhaustible,
    it gives birth to infinite worlds.

    It is always present within you.
    You can use it any way you want

  • Having scoured the books before for this question, I can tell you there isn't a whole lot printed about it. So, if you want it to have more benefits, go for it.

    Daily Tao:

    The Tao doesn't take sides;
    it gives birth to both good and evil.
    The Master doesn't take sides;
    she welcomes both saints and sinners.

    The Tao is like a bellows:
    it is empty yet infinitely capable.
    The more you use it, the more it produces;
    the more you talk of it, the less you understand.

    Hold on to the center.

    Daily Tao:

    The Tao is like a well:
    used but never used up.
    It is like the eternal void:
    filled with infinite possibilities.

    It is hidden but always present.
    I don't know who gave birth to it.
    It is older than God.

    Child of a vocal music teacher here. Never took a class, but heard it all my life. I'm told I'm not bad, but since I always had a professional to match myself against, I never see it as good enough.

    True words aren't eloquent;
    eloquent words aren't true.
    Wise men don't need to prove their point;
    men who need to prove their point aren't wise.

    The Master has no possessions.
    The more he does for others,
    the happier he is.
    The more he gives to others,
    the wealthier he is.

    The Tao nourishes by not forcing.
    By not dominating, the Master leads....

    Failure is an opportunity.
    If you blame someone else,
    there is no end to the blame.

    Therefore the Master
    fulfills her own obligations
    and corrects her own mistakes.
    She does what she needs to do
    and demands nothing of others.

    Daily Tao:

    Nothing in the world
    is as soft and yielding as water.
    Yet for dissolving the hard and inflexible,
    nothing can surpass it.

    The soft overcomes the hard;
    the gentle overcomes the rigid.
    Everyone knows this is true,
    but few can put it into practice.

    Therefore the Master remains
    serene in the midst of sorrow.
    Evil cannot enter his heart.
    Because he has given up helping,
    he is people's greatest help.

    True words seem paradoxical.

    Daily Tao:

    As it acts in the world, the Tao
    is like the bending of a bow.
    The top is bent downward;
    the bottom is bent up.
    It adjusts excess and deficiency
    so that there is perfect balance.
    It takes from what is too much
    and give to what isn't enough.

    Those who try to control,
    who use force to protect their power,
    go against the direction of the Tao.
    They take from those who don't have enough
    and give to those who have far too much.

    The Master can keep giving
    because there is no end to...

    If you aren't afraid of dying,

    The Tao is always at ease.
    It overcomes without competing,
    answers without speaking a word,
    arrives without being summoned,
    accomplishes without a plan.

    Its net covers the whole universe.
    And though its meshes are wide,
    it doesn't let a thing slip through.

    This one, I think, says why I'm doing this. If you've been peeking into this thread once in a while, you'll have noticed I'm not doing much beyond posting these quotes. Read the one above, and you can see why. I'm not preaching anything to anyone,
