  • However you want to represent it. Those sound like good ways to explain them within a story.

  • So, there is the part about containing more than one soul stone involved and it doesn't have to be the mage's own so you can have all Paths attuned at the Demesne. Take into consideration this is pretty rare though as not every cabal has all Paths and not all cabal members will always contribute....

  • The the Mage's Soul Stone. You can combine multiple, thus making a Demesne that is attuned to all Five Paths and thus has all arcana....

  • So, if you make a Human with just Life then it is not a Sleeper, but basically a Human shell. It would probably only have the basic of physical stimuli since no Mind is incorporated.

If you included a Mind with Mind 5, this would mean you have a Human Shell with a Mind. So, this would also technically not be a Human, but pretty close. So it would not be a Sleeper.

A Sleeper is essentially a "human" in that they have a shell, mind, and soul....

  • Hm, I am not sure where you got that quote. But my version of the book explicitly states that with a +2 Reach Boons can affect spell casting rolls.

I am curious and first time I have learned about this possibility of resolving the conflict. Based on your analysis what do you think happens to the 2 Mages that let the boy venture into meet the meat god?

  • Very interesting, thanks Flinty. So I wonder if you could fuse the soulstone with the ghost to grant some benefit?

  • Thanks for that Tessie. So given all this new information, would you think it is feasible to use a Soulstone to create a ghost mage in the spell description?

  • Interesting, if you could find this comment it would be great. Because as my understanding, it would be possible for a mage to leave behind a mundane ghost with no powers.

  • Yeah, I considered adding 1 point of Mana for the lasting since that is standard form.

As for the Underworld and Anchor requirements, I agree, those do seem pretty arbitrary, I think just having the ghost would work fine as long as you have the soul stone. As for creating a clone of the ghost mage you already have? I am confused, maybe I need to clarify. The ghost has no special powers other than being a ghost of a mage that died, so basically I am using Death + Prime and the soul stone to enhance it to be able to use magic....

  • Here are some spells I just created, let me know what you think:
Create Ghost Mage (Death ●●●●● + Prime ●●●●●)
    Practice: Making
    Primary Factor: Duration
    Cost: Special (see below)
Suggested Rote Skills: Occult, Persuasion, Brawl
This spell allows for the creation of a Ghost Mage with some requirements: the subject must have left behind a ghost and you have the subject’s soul stone. You must have enough mana to fill the ghost with its Rank in Essence (ex. 10 Mana for a Rank 1 Ghost). Creating a Ghost Mage is considered an act of Hubris for Falling Wisdom as...

Yes, that is correct, or if they were veiled by something being physically in front of them like a half wall as well.

I guess my main point is that just because you can’t see a target does not make it completely invisible from other sights because my understanding is the Supernal symbolism is there you just dont see the physical person.

Sorry. It was not meant as aggressive, but it appears Dave said they could also potentially see the Supernal World despite their impairment. So ST fiat on that I suppose. True you could compensate with magic and sighted mages can do the same. My point was Mage Sight is more than just if you can’t perceive it you don’t get anything. From the description in the book the world is overlayed with the Supernal based on the Arcana, in my mind that meant it was basically like throwing paint over the entire area and you sensed what got stuck. If you saw it great, you could discern that info with your...

How do you sense Temporal Disturbances if Blind, touch the air? Sorry if I sound snarky/argumentative, just curious on how it would be handled in your understanding.
It seems it is possible that blind mages can also see the overlay of symbols despite not having any sight at all as stated by Dave in a FAQ message. So this seems to indicate that Mage Sight can break through your mundane senses after all.

So in other words it is Supernal Info given to you thanks to your Mage Sight. Would you need to touch someone to get that info if you are blind? How would you know if there was electricity if you were blind? Would someone blind have to touch the electric cables to determine there is power running through the walls?

So how does someone tell you have a soul in your method? You say it shows they have one but how you determine that info?

Think of it like this, if someone is invisible and paint gets dumped on them. Is Forces still clashing? If you assume that it works the way I am saying it does because it doesn’t matter know that you can see them. They are still messing with the light it is just now you see where they are.
