    Me again? Okay.

Danireya: I will set the bed on fire. Get up.

Melody: Do we open with how we represent House Mnemon or how we're courting House Sesus?
Ganan: We could tell them we beat Sesus Dabab unconcious and fed him to a people eating manse?

Ganan: I'd rather not fight the entire Sesus army.

Melody: Did Ganan just solve a problem by using his words?
    All: ...
Melody: Are we seriously not going to discuss how bizzare that is? Not even OOC?
    Me OOC: I resent that.
Ganan: The entire time you were playing Ganan, did...

    Yup, that.

Abridged version: PCs got screwed over by a Gold Faction Sidereal. Sidereals aren't even on the suspect list, so I need to poke them in the right direction. But, you know, without railroading them.

Starmetal is magical iron. The orginal alluded to Bronze as an alloy of Dragon-Blooded and Sidereals. But I see that's not coming across in 5/7/5.

Fifth stanza is meant to be anti-Gold Faction. Although... the other Anathema adversaries are "Deathknights in the service of Malfeas" (Infernal Exalted Necromancers). So your original take is a...

Or one wish EVER per person, with achieving a Legendary Social Goal as a reset.

I'm worried it's stupid. Or too obtuse. Or not obtuse enough.

Like, if you were a player and the ST gave you this on a scroll as a prop, what would be your reaction. What does this convey to you? Is it cool? Does being a haiku add anything? (First draft was in iambic pentameter, but verse seemed to be a mistake... but plain text lacked mystic.)

I don't know, I guess I'm over thinking it. (Haven't been LARPing this year. Have a surplus of scrolls. Feeling really restless, kinda anxious. Mostly I think "This is a great idea, much better than having an NPC just say...

[PEACH] Excerpt from the Immaculate Texts

So I'm having an obscure passage of the Immaculate Texts fall into my PCs hands. I'm thinking of writing it out on a scroll and handing it to the players as a prop... but, you know, I'm worried it sucks. (I have no intention of transliterating it into High Realm.) Can I get a little feedback here?

  • They don't even HAVE to do it once, in the strictest sense. Though there's terrible concequences for not doing it... I imagine the average Infernal could kill a given mortal who defies them, regardless of wish granting powers.

I disagree. It still costs XP, all you're doing is bypassing training time... which you could do anyway with a good story reason.

My preference would be to see more training powers and less downtime. YMMV.

    "I wish..."

No story worth telling ends with the words "I wish".

"I wish" is where the story starts.

The point of a forum is to share ideas with other people. If I didn't want other people to butt in then I'd write my headcanon in my journal. Your post is cool, and I agree with you and am grateful for your input.

I think you've got a good point with the Adament Caste, it's logical and applies to Autochothon.

Moonsilver I don't follow. Luna, the god, is non-binary. It follows that her Chosen might reflect similiar themes. The Moonsilver Caste are not Luna's Chosen. They don't reflect Luna's themes. They represent the mechanical distillation of transformation....

Looking at the legend of Hermaphroditus (as told by Ovid) and the 1E Alchemicals book... I think the Orichalcum Caste is probably the most likely to express non-binary themes. But I'd be hesitant to read too much into that: anyone could be non-binary, the Orichalcum Caste is just the one that maps closest to Greek mythology.

Certainly I can see a good case for NB Adament Caste too....

I never said your idea was "bad" or that I "assumed the worst". So let me cut through it right here: I don't dislike you, and I don't think your ideas are bad.

I said I'd prefer if DBs could raise their static values by three, or add upto three successes (or five dice, successes counting as two dice) to a roll regardless of their Ability score. I see it as Deebs drawing on a more primal, elemental power -- but one they can't control with the same degree of internalisation and finess as a well trained Solar.

Mostly, because it's easy to keep track of...

In Autochthon, most cities are formed around a powerful Alchemical Exalt. We know female Alchemicals become Metropoli and male become Patropoli. Let's make it awkward:

Most folks in Autochthon just call their city a metropolis -- it's not meant mean-spiritedly, it's just the culture. Most Alchemicals don't mind -- they don't perceive it as misgendering, it's just a cultural norm. Those few who do perceive a prejudical issue, are generally not offended, but contemplate the best ways of reducing gender biases and promoting social harmony -- and that often starts with educating...

Seeing as the current choices are Greek for "Mother City", Greek for "Father City", and the Greeks worshiped a non-binary god, "Hermapolis" probably seems right -- with Metropolis being the cultural default and Patropolis/Hermapolis being types of Metropolis. (Like "man" meaning both human beings and the male gender; all Alchemical cities are "Metropoli", but that's also the term for specifically female cities.)...

I'd rather Deebs just had a cap of (Ability) (or even, sacrilegious to suggest, I know, a straight cap of 5 dice or 3 successes) and more Excellency effects like Brawl: Become the Hammer (normal Excellency, plus Parry Lethal damage unarmed, plus reroll 6s on damage) and Medicine: Master Healer Meditation (normal dice adding Excellency, but gain a non-Charm success if you hit your dice cap). Let Charms be Charms. Have them do stuff.

The Lunar stunting method works great for Lunars, but it's not a panacea.

I had a hard time parsing this... but I'm pretty sure I agree...

    Eh.

Look at the difficulty chart on Page 185. Look at the NPC dice pools starting Page 495.

Most of the time, you REALLY don't need that extra die. Defence 4 is enough (so long as you're not running with something silly like 2 Soak, and don't mind a bit of dramatic back-and-forth with Initative Shifts and other excitement in your combats).

And for Stealth... outside of fellow Exalted, a Fair Folk Lorelei has the most dice to oppose Stealth with "Senses 12 dice" (also, I contend Stealth should usually be a flat difficulty and not an opposed roll,...
