replied to Need Advice on Creating Elementals
What kind of elements are they to represent?

IMO elementals - especially low level ones - are just marginally more sentient than a magical golem. They are living forces of nature after all... its first if they reach maybe essence 3 that they would reach full sentience.

While essence 2, it would be on par with a wild animal - but with a twist: it would be an 'animal' expression of the element they're embodying.

So... water elementals of a raging river with strong currents? strong but mindless wall bulls that seem impossible to physically stop. summoning a...

Oh, a fact I once introduced was that a group of corrupt Sijanese officials in Nexus were selling off the bones of poor dead people to the Nighthammer smelteries - as a source of carbon for the foundries...

(never mind that bones aren't carbon, but my players thought it was cool and, well... rule of cool) - also it helped explain why certain blacksmith shops were getting haunted

replied to Game-specific terms and what they mean...
    Here's a classic practical example from D&D:

    White room:
Your character is in a white 30 by 30 foot room. There is an orc with a pie at the other end of the room. What do you do?

And now the same basic scenario, but with context:
Your character is standing at the Briartown square. There is a market going on. Suddenly you hear a shriek "Stop the thief", turn and see an orc running away from a baker's stall with a pie. What do you do?

Now you suddenly have context, you have basic motivation. This is part of what makes a game fun

According to Immaculate lore, then sorcery was discovered/invented by one of the Imaculate dragons to defeat the anathema

...so, there's nothing against it that way around. Demons, spirits, elementals - according to immaculate doctrine they are all subservient to the spiritually enlightened DBs.

of course, studying at Heptagram might be a bit of a dogmatic challenge for a monk due to the anathema-made books and scrolls in their libraries.

but if you can get a sorcery teacher from somewhere else, then it should make sense. A lot of sorcery could support...

replied to [2E] How to Fight the Walker in Darkness?
    Weaken him

The Deathlords get their power from the Neverborn - sneak into the underworld and mess with the Neverborn that powers the Walker. Sure, it wont be easy, but compare it to taking the one ring and tossing it into the fires of mount doom: It will rob the walker of his powers.

As a ghost he'll have a fetter or two - control over those would grant you control over the ghost, assuming that you know the right bits of sorcery or necromancy. Seek those fetters, steal them, and then use that attack or mess with him.

Or maybe strike up the ruling gods...

478: While replicating your favorite video game or anime character in Exalted can be fun, then you're not allowed to stall the game simply because the next episode of manga hasn't come out yet so you don't know how the character should react in-game.

  • well, DBs aren't supposed to be as speedy solo-crafters as Solars

but then DBs can instead call upon an army of skilled craftsmen to help out. An essence 3 solar might craft at x12 speed for a single person - but as single Essence 3 DB can call upon 50 craftsmen to assist in making something. That makes for very speed production just the same...

replied to 1001 things the Gold Faction tells Solars
An ST will have to judge on a game-to-game basis what the sids will want to tell the players - and once the players know from one game, it can be very difficult to avoid meta exploitation.

As for explaining the usurpation - again, all depends on the Sid they're talking to. Does the sid want to sugar-coat things, or just paint the bronze faction as bad guys? What does the Sid want out of the solars?

Regarding SMAs - again - the players want it, but they need a teacher. is anyone willing to teach? What can they offer to the teacher? It makes for a powerful bargaining chip...
