    Bloodline Conversion- Carnon

Greetings, everybody! Haberdasher here with another bloodline conversion. This week, I present the Carnon, a young bloodline who take cues from horned deities of Indo-European mythology who are associated with the Crone.

A quick note on the Carnon: their 1e lore says that they really hate the Sanctified, but then the lore turns around and points out that often, the Sanctified aren't the ultraconservative boogiemen the Carnon think they are. So I've altered their lore to make it so that they just go after those who are enemies of the Circle, kind of a wandering band of Acolyte do-gooders...

  • Phersus Thank you! I will be posting my conversion of the Carnon tomorrow. Pretty glad with how they turned out actually, and I think their bloodline gift is both flavorful and useful considering their inspiration. "Carnivora? Too mainstream. We prefer Ungulata."...

At Lynx's words, Ragnar grabs handfuls of flowers and starts shoving them into his mouth. The taste is bland, and he can't help but quip, "Could use some thousand island." But then the mana hits him all at once, and he's suddenly on something a thousand times better than a sugar rush. Hell, probably better than cocaine....

  • Ragnar and Moonstone study the Cloud with Ophis' spell, and one that Lynx casts on them to see when the spirits got involved. Then I think our 3-dot characters go to town on the flowers after we try to limit the collateral damage with Warding spells on the houses and people....

  • Hey guys, just wanted to tell you that my posting opportunities will be very limited for the foreseeable. Should be no longer than a couple weeks, but may be no longer than a couple days. Just proceed as normal, Ragnar will tag along.

Ragnar watches the ghosts with fascination. Whereas his Sight always shows the living as wrapped in bright, noticeable red threads and flowing along the stream of time, ghosts seem to be just the opposite. Some of them do have threads around them, but they are nearly transparent and thin as spider silk. But each of them are wrapped...

  • As for why the Asnâm are Acolytes by default, I think it's a matter of Azar being an Acolyte, and so the majority follow suit. That, and the Acolytes are naturally more receptive to the worship of Palden Lhamo (aka, the Asnâm) than the others. I have a hard time seeing the Asnâm faking it long enough to infiltrate the Sanctified- their founder hated Islam, I have trouble seeing his bloodline tolerating another religion that worships the same guy. And the Dragons are probably safe: no Sanam's going to tolerate being a Slave of the Order Dracul....

  • It really makes you wonder how the hell these guys haven't gotten wiped out yet. The Mellisidae get driven to extinction (we hope), but the Asnâm are still (figuratively) drawing breath? I can only assume that Asnâm are very, very careful about revealing just how much they can and cannot do. But yeah, I'm trying to drive home the fact that there might really be something to their claims to be gods in vampire form....

  • Point. Alright, yeah. Auspex, Majesty, Protean, and Obfuscate. Longinus preserve us, these guys are monsters....

  • I suppose breaking the usual restriction makes since for the Asnâm, since they are supposed to have been created by a god....

  • The problem with Ralab is that so many of the devotions feel like they come from another Discipline: The God's Loving Embrace is some freaky form of Protean 1, the body-hopping of Avatar is reminiscent of Auspex 5... it's a bit of a mess of a discipline. I guess I could give them Auspex, Dominate, Majesty, and Protean, and maybe drop Vigor as a required component of some of the devotions, but I'm skittish about giving these guys four Clan disciplines. I guess how I could balance that out is that Celerity and Vigor could no longer be purchased at an in-Clan price....

Even as Ragnar looks around, he finally becomes aware of the nagging thought that has in the back of his mind. He's all too familiar with the behavior of suburbanites who keep to themselves, but this is ridiculous. There should be mothers and fathers coming back from dropping children off at school, or leaving to go to their 9-to-5....

  • My post has also been amended.

So I'm guessing the flowers are either the source of the Mana (hence why the spirits are congregating around it), or they are the reason why the houses are so quiet. I'm also wondering if there's a rampant Tranquility spirit (in which case, we have an opportunity to collaborate with some werewolves), or if this is a mage's work.

  • Thank you for all the feedback, guys. After reading your comments, I've decided that, as written, the bloodline bane is just a little too much of a beat factory. So I'm going to add a detail to the bloodline bane that Asnâm don't get a beat if they roll for Frenzy because of their bloodline bane. I think I'll keep the threshold for making the Frenzy roll "fail a roll that accumulates enough dice to get an exceptional success." This means that younger Asnâm might be a bit more likely to suffer the effects of the bane: their dice pools are naturally going to be smaller, and thus more...
