I will fistfight both of you for disrespecting the motherflipping Aabbt in my motherflipping clanbook....

  • I think you're confusing two different ideas here; the Masquerade being sustainable, and the Masquerade being breakable. They aren't one and the same.

The Masquerade is sustainable. So long as humans can be convinced en mass that vampires aren't real and are the stuff of myth, legend, conspiracy theory or what have you, the Masquerade can be sustained. As long as large breaches can be covered up, explained away, kept localized and whatnot the Masquerade can be sustained. As long as kindred and those humans aware of the truth have a vested interest in keeping the wider public in the...

  • Honestly, as a V5 critic, this is the thing that has made me the most hopeful for seeing V5 salvaged (for me) narratively thus far. I've liked a lot of what he's done, disagreed or hated some, but my general opinion was positive. I'm down for his possible interpretation of the Sabbat in V5....

  • Honestly, I always imagined it to be more of a cold war, with occasional assaults on a voivode's castle or a pack's sept, as opposed to the hundred or so participants on either side actually marshalling armies and fighting. And given both the Tzimisce and Shadow Lords tend to be more "ruler types" than "soldier types", I picture the majority of the "fighting" to be through proxies and such. Again, more like a cold war with breaks for real battles. I don't see a sustainable (for either side) war lasting since prehistory being a thing of constant, or even semi-frequent...

  • The problem with this entire argument is it ignores the thing keeping the Masquerade intact; disinformation is a real thing, and it also exists in the World of Darkness. Climate change is a perfect example, and no, it doesn't support the premise the Masquerade is unsustainable. Let me explain. Forwarning, this is a very American-centric argument.

Science has proven a thing to be real. We can see visible, tangible effects of the thing being real. We suffer consequences of the thing being real. But a powerful group of the rich have a vested interest in not making changes because of...

Worst ideas I've ever heard for WoD? Well, hold my (root) beer for a minutes, cuz I got some funsies.

~ A newbie ST wanted to run a game for me and some friends. No problem, he'd run DnD games for us, and they were fun! High powered, but fun! So one of the players asked about generation, if there'd be a hard limit to it, etc. He said make the characters without worrying about generation, and he'd randomly determine our generations based on a d10 roll.

We assumed he'd be like "half the number rolled is how many dots in Gen you get". Or "the die roll plus...
