  • Heavy Arms: You see it on hyperbolic and straining the civility of this thread.
I did explain further why I don't consider it as hyperbolic but a direct strawman polemic, brought up in a discussion with a poster here. Overstepping the boundaries set by the forum rules and acting against the premise asked for in the title. This isn't helped by you resorting to insinuations and direct personal attacks including insults like "bucko" towards me.

If you want arguments and a discussion on point you might like to refrain from putting out hyberbolic statements, straining...

  • I have no problem with people being negative or critical.
Something I do take offense in, is if it proceeds from being negative or critical to claiming stuff like "V5 fans would be totally fine with rules that require physically assaulting players" and attacking users based on said strawman. Which I find hard to believe is within the forum rules.

Well, and your claim, that V5 fans rush into discussions not about V5 to spread the gospel of V5s awesomeness to the detriment of people not liking V5,... at least in the threads I looked, it just didn't happen. Maybe it got...

I haven't caught up with the videos at all, but that would be quite a change of heart?
By both White Wolf, who keep stern to their statement that all the 13 Clans will do remain the 13 Clans, and not the 12 Clans and a bloodline or such?

I mean, I have as well talked about the Giovanni with him during GenCon?
The Gentleman Gamer I am confused, maybe you can bring enlightenment?

  • To mirror your very next answer or rather polemic:
"You don't care about arguments? Nothing else to say. No arguments in the discussion"

If we may return now to an actually somewhat civil discussion, opposed to slinging polemics to subdue the other side.
The V5 book does present predator types in a fashion that makes it very easy for readers to come up with their own.
As proven by Darker Days, by you, and other people who exactly did that.

Thus there is a tool in the toolbox to create one owns predator types.
Like with old Lego toys by...

  • No, they haven't. It might be a feature added to WorldOfDarkness.com, yet it isn't added so far.
It could as well be argued with OPP continuing to develop books for V5 it is reasonable to have V5 discussions here.

I have yet to see a V5 fan entering a thread about a general or other edition specific topic and telling people how much of an utter shit their edition is.
I do get that, including accusations, insinuations, polemics, in threads dedicated like this by users like Heavy Arms who apparently can't stand the thought of people liking an edition they don't f...

  • I named Predator Types as there have been a bunch of fan-made one be produced and shared.
No, there isn't an exact how to, but it is pretty obvious how they are designed, making some isn't difficult.
With a design so clearly stated and presented I do think that you do have the tools of your own.

It has rather little if anything at all to do with what happened in the scenario described in the Polygon article.
On the one hand, predator types aren't meant to present how you hunt, but how you hunted. You can keep going for the same method, you don't have to.
    On...

    Can it maybe be fixed?

  • V5 offers its design elements as toolkits.

You don't like or miss predator types.
The design is pretty clearly communicated and you can create predator types on your own.
You are as well, well enabled to just take the benefits of predator types without using the concept.

You don't like Tenets, Convictions and Touchstones in regards to Humanity.
Set tenets like "The beast must be fed", "No mercy for the weak", "Praise Caine", allow inhumane convictions and change touchstones from humans to rituals or objects.
    They...

  • I am confused how it would help?

Rules: Hit. I love the the humanity system, the coterie creation, the discipline design and loresheets. I like the character creation, dice system and hunger system. The memoriam system is okay and could use some more flesh to its bone. I see room for improvement in the XP distribution and player character progression.

Lore: Hit. I love the beckoning away of the elders as it makes room for actual player agency over an NPC show. I love the introduction of the SI as a serious threat to vampires making humans and missing day time. I love...

Crowdfunding does not only produce money, if successful, but as well helps the visibility of a product.
For IPs held by a different owner, companies pay for being able to use the IP, as well as for their production costs. They do that for the expected win margin from the IPs being used.
For example, if you do a Star Trek game, you pay Paramount money and hope that the plethora of Star Trek fans will make up for the investment.

The Giovanni are my personal favorite Clan. Clearly number one, even with the original 7.
I took the very brief two mentions they got...

  • I will be moving on towards V5.
Respectfully, with 1 game played at GenCon, 3 games played with MoC as GM, and two (to a lot) of games planned to be ran by myself I am pretty much already moved on.
I will as well be recommending V5 to anyone interested in playing Vampire.

  • In regards of the defense of the Tremere themselves.
It all assume that the operation to take down the Vienna chantry, which is if am not mistaken pretty much in the middle of the city, would be executed at night. Attacking vampires at night would be a quite massively stupid idea, thus I would assume that the SI ran its false flag operation, that yes included massive collateral damage, during the light of day. From like brunch to dinner, sweeping up at night only what couldn't be handled during the day.

Well, and with all the thaumaturgic defense mechanism, it is unlikely that...

  • I asked the questions a few month ago, a basically the answer was yes.
You just shouldn't/can't use the V5 rules and system.

Though it might be worth asking again....

  • It has advice how to scale the SI up and down according to ones needs in regard of chronicles.

The classic Brujah biker would tend to stay of the internet and developed a tradecraft along the lines of "Sons of Anarchy" and the like to keep hidden in general.
Next to the option of choosing a gothic horror approach to stealth, one might get inspired by gangs, cartels and the like....

  • I did receive a review copy for my blog Teylen.blog and did wrote a first impression / mini review of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th core book:

Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition – First Look

I get into the structure of the book, the system, setting aspect and the stuff one might expect to find in such a review (I hope).
