  • Alternate Broken Masquerade setting

Lets say if Vampires were suddenly revealed to the public or "Came out of their Coffins" although we things like the Second Inquisition in V5 however, maybe what if it brings a different result than what the Elders were fearing what might happen that maybe the public can tolerate Vampires up to a point while many others are put on watch lists and hunted down when the right moment strikes that is?

Then again there maybe could be a portion of humans who want to keep Vampires around especially the Blood Fetish community that is?

I assume in V5 if you play as Sabbat especially if you play as a Lasombra or Tzimisce, then you're pretty much restricted to the Middle East fighting the Gehenna War, not a whole lot of options or room to maneuver there.

Especially since Lasombra and Tzimisce now only exist in the Middle East and they cannot be found anywhere else now.

    Yup exactly.

I think the "rape metaphor" association exactly came from a mistranslation of Dracula which is actually about "Foreigners coming to rape our women" as much the same that you know who spouts about Mexicans today since Dracula was originally written with racist intent and turned up to eleven with FW Murnau's Nosferatu (which is also where the "Burn in Sunlight" weakness came from as well).

And Carmilla was originally a homophobic polemic demonizing gay women pretty much but at least the Web Series reclaimed her as a "Broody...

"It's unfair to call the White Wolf authors edge lords but here's why Vampires are Rape Metaphors...."

Hence you're only proving my point again and again since WW's writers are not the sole authority or even experts or scholars on Vampire Fiction and Folklore, they only based on VtM only on a vague conception of Dracula (maybe without actually reading the actual novel even carefully but only instead saw Movies of it) and Modern Vampire Films thinking that "Oh this is what Vampires are...they're rapists" which they made this game pretty much not to mention you're...

How so? I thought metaphors are exactly based what the author is trying to use literary tools like Vampires for example which is how they work....

  • Which goes back to my "Different Strains of Vampirism" thread which in the Web Series case, The Dean is Ishtar bound to a Corpse so she is walking corpse demigoddess with her own Vampiric spell that rises her own brand of vampirism from the dead hence Carmilla and Mattie....

  • Web Series Carmilla in the WoD/VtM

Let's just say if the Carmilla Web Series took place in the WoD, what clan would Carmilla Karinstein, Mattie "Mastka" Belmonde and the Dean or rather Carmilla's "Mother" would be or rather how would the entire plot of the web series be 'explained' via a WoD lens?

I guess Web Series Carmilla is a example of a High Humanity Vampire gaining Golconda at the end of the Web Series by turning human again but to Fall into Vampirism again when Wraiths of her past start showing up and "want her life back" that is.

Then again, Vampires are only rape metaphors if you want them to be which in my case I rather prefer not to.

Also glad to hear some honesty here that people rather want to play as oppressors instead of liberators or survivors that is which says alot pretty much.

Sure I'm well aware that patrarichy and the way they "condemn" rape the same as breaking something at a store and you have to pay for it hence the instances of rape victims being forced to marry their rapists that is which is still rather victim blaming on the victim's part that is....

  • Actually the whole "cursed himself by renouncing God" is a invention from Francis Cord Coppla's movie which in actuality Dracula turned himself into a Vampire via alchemy and black magic via the scholomance and it was no curse either but more a form immorality that he discovered the easy way of getting it that is....

Which none of this makes any sense at all, especially the fact that Vampires having sex dates all the way back to folklore especially where do you think Dhampyrs come from then?

Like I said before, that's the way how WW has written Vampires to be because they're being "Dark and Edgy" in poor taste actually....

I always find it absurd for the entire concept of Kindred having "no sex drive" where you could might as well "Vampires are dead which they can't move or think".

Vampires are not metaphors for one thing such as being sex, they are literary tools whatever the author uses them to be which in WW's case though, they were written as "rape metaphors" because WW's writers were being edgelords pretty much along with the fact MRH was writing his religious dogma unto a game that his father influenced him as he admitted himself.

Yet I find it even more...

  • Then again if you really knew what Abrahamic Faiths especially Christianity were actually about, which is rather about suffering through life to achieve "heavenly awards" i.e. becoming "one" with the creator by abandoning the flesh for the spiritual, the entire reason why Lucifer/Satan is "Evil" is because they have humans embrace the flesh therefore earthly pleasures hence Vampirism should be a way to create a "afterlife" where one is free from either eternal damnation or slavery by a tyrannical deity where one is dead but yet they still get to enjoy the...

  • If Satan/Lucifer is behind it all, I doubt they'll create something so hindering which it makes more sense that the Kindred came from Yahweh hence from Caine because it's designed as a curse not a empowerment.

If Vampirism really did come from Satan/Lucifer then it'll be much closer to Dracula's (and perhaps Carmilla's) versions of Vampirism since those versions of Vampirism are more of a empowerment from the forces of darkness (hence why they are repelled by Catholic Iconography automatically no matter how much faith the welder has) with the sole purpose to spit the creators face...

  • Which is what I was trying to say that Kindred come from Caine which is explicitly and clearly stated by canon and then you contradict yourself saying they now didn't?

What you're missing the point on is that all those things should be part of their particular strain of vampirism not having disciplines mimicking them because without those, they'll just revert back what their strain does.

Point is I shouldn't have to use disciplines to keep up with the pace especially they all cost blood points hence they're not permanent but rather temporary features because...

  • I could accept the ideas that they come from a different progenitor (while having Cain as exactly how he's described in the Bible that was because he wasn't originally a vampire though) despite the fact it might undermine the Christian themes that VtM is constructed around like taking one block out and everything falls apart but I entirely disagree that the "Vampiric State" should have consistent qualities because you're once again defining what Vampirism is and what isn't in the face of the "Our Vampires are Different" trope.

    I thought I already...

  • Yet is is from Caine since all Antediluvians share a common trait such as the beast, frenzying, humanity system, damage from sunlight, fangs, generation system, etc hence they must come from a single progenitor that is the source of all of those traits described above, since if vampires came from their individual antediluvian without Caine or a Single Progenitor then why are all the Vampires technically the same then?

If Vampires came from their individual antediluvians then all of them shouldn't suffer from things like sunlight damage, frenzying, beast, humanity system etc which...

  • Because it keeps the game more interesting and diverse instead of expecting the same algorithms?

You're failing to see that the mechanics entirely assumes the Noddest myth is true hence results "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum" effect on Vampires....

  • Thing is the main problem with this idea if each clan started independently then why do they have the same traits like the beast/frenzying, sunlight damage, disciplines, generation, etc? That's the part where it doesn't make sense hence the Kindred were originally designed with a single progenitor in mind hence it's easier to say they all come from Caine and meanwhile you have other variations and strains of vampires who are not Kindred at all.

Also Ruthven can't be Tzimisce nor Kindred at all because he's one of the weakest of his kind, he has no fangs and has to bite down via the...

  • That's the point of this thread is to include those very numerous versions of Vampires and not all of them have to be Kindred at all but rather them existing alongside with Kindred.

But it seems you're now contradicting yourself which you're now saying Noddism is true hence going back to my main point about why Kindred have the same system but you keep saying they have "different origins" which is the part where it doesn't make sense and now it feels like we're going in circles here now....
