  • Yeah I think we've got most of human folklore and modern horror taken up. Deviant handled the final niche in my opinion--it handles mutants and medicine gone wrong. It handles things like the Fly. But we have a gameline that handles Slashers, we have a game about ghosts, games talking folklore in general (shadow and changeling have almost all folklore covered) its really quite comprehensive!

    I'd thought about this same question for years but Deviant convinced me they've got it all now. good job Dave for finding the last remaining horror thing they hadnt done! Here anyway...

    Well the first one is selfish, as its the game-idea I've wanted to do for years but, haven't really gotten to properly start yet. This is the idea I'd personally want to use my primary character for, the Scarlet Witch (whom I named without realizing was an X-men character >.> embarrassing embarrassing.) The story arc I wanted to do, was Scarlet is obsessed with werewolf history and integrates with a pack that slowly become interested in her investigations into Father Wolf... Integrating material from The Sundered World, this Mage/Werewolf crossover idea sounds perfect for exploring stuff...

    Wait, I thought Supernal denizens DONT get Attainments, it was a discussion I was part of months ago! Anyone remember? was that overrulled? I think it had something to do with denizens summoning themselves or not...

    Another weird thing about Signs of Sorcery is that the forward copy details Supernals almost as if it was 1e?

    Yeah I remember werewolf saying rank + influence too. which one do some of you think works best? rank + or attribute + for supernals? Or is one better for one game than the other, like giving higher dice pools vs Mages cuz hubris?

  • Its only storytellers vault but theres this cheapo book someone made with ideas on how to expand influences into far more examples. Its pretty neat!

    Mage battles tend to be all or nothing. Ive very rarely had a battle last past the second round. Without rules and limitations, or a point system, like the Duel Arcane, then Mages tend to solve battles with their first spell or second spell.

    In my Mage setting, I actually do have a "Mage Arena", led by literally just the Black Black club from Yu Yu Hakusho, Sakkyo and all, here he is a Left-Handed Seer of the Throne who has grown bored in his dominion, and uses his illegal underground monster arena and betting to entertain himself, and uses the arena as a means of punishment,...

  • Summoning specific entities is like trapping a specific wild animal, but you can't see what you caught til the trap is sprung. 1e described it as sort of *luring* Supernals to you, the Summoning creates a way to interact with our world and eventually a denizen decides, for whatever reason, to use your summons, for curiosity or some other reason.

    So you can never force a specific entity to come against its will, but if the ST has a denizen in mind in which it would be *glad* to show up for anyone who uses its sigils in the ritual? Then it becomes VERY possible. It would be like the...

  • I think Sundered World did it that you get something like the creatures stamina or size, once size is at least 5, (only 1 mana if size is less than 5).

    So I'd go with size+horror rating. Horror Potency 4 and size 7 could be 11 mana perhaps.
