  • Rose actually said in the Changeling kickstarter that Major Templates can potentially stack because they change completely things about a mortals nature or something iirc...

  • The reason why you still risk violating your cover without witnesses is because the God-Machine doesn't just use word of mouth/mindreading/etc. to gather information. It's a multidimensional system which might be sensing the emotional wavelengths and suddenly note a dip when you go into demon form because you no longer have hormones hyping you up. Or might detect how probability just changed or some change in the region's quantum fields because of a quantum entity just made a massive shift in reality. Or it could do any number of different mystical methods to divine a flow of aether being emitted...

Faetouched in changeling 2e can learn supernatural powers by making deals and oaths with goblins and changelings.

  • It says that the two shown are examples iirc and that GMs should feel free to add additional ones for the other seemings (presumably because writing six of them for each arcadian contract would take up much more time and space than just thinking up a seeming benefit for the seeming associated with it's regalia + a single other thematic seeming)....

  • It is annoying that if you take a contract that isn't from your seeming's regalia you have a 80% chance of needing to homebrew.

Note: In Changeling 2e, you can have courts which get their power from a pact with other splats, so that'd be a good way to show some crossover. You can even have a crossover court system, like courts of blood, moons, sigils, and codes.

Blood's patron is ancient primordial vampire who is locked in torpor until the agreed upon date, with their bargain requiring the changelings to use oneiromancy to eternally protect the kindred from the horrific dreamscapes which normally plague a vampire, and in return the court gains protection against their own nightmares allowing them to ward...

  • If that were true, then it would have said that rather than "it can be anything as long as it can do x".

I can easily see a court which has had an ancient vampire in it's basement generations locked in torpor until the agreed upon date, with their bargain requiring the changelings to use oneiromancy to eternally protect the kindred from the horrific dreamscapes which normally plague a vampire, and in return the court gains protection against their own nightmares allowing them to ward areas from the gentry by spilling their own blood....

  • The entities which are patrons for a court apparently don't need to be very powerful themselves "it just has to be able and powerful enough to make and uphold a deal with True Fae or changelings."

  • The only chapter left to be previewed is the chapter which is described to be: "Storytelling advice, including Chronicle-building, rules for creating new Courts and Contracts, and player safety advice." So that sort of information makes sense to have not appeared in the previews yet.

Except the courts which have been previewed don't seem to have any ties to any emotions, and it seems very odd that the "default" court system would be the only court system which follows the glamour rules that each court gives a bonus to feeding from a specific emotion....

  • Rules give a common ground in the playerbase, and it makes it easier on GMs who might not have experience enough with the system to feel comfortable to homebrew a lot. Having to homebrew things from nothing is actually one of the reasons I didn't play nWoD before 2e and why I can't really see myself ever running an Exalted game.

Hopefully the rules to aid in the creation of courts, contracts, and kiths with be detailed enough to be suitable.... but it is rather weird that the setting-chapter's courts can't really be used out of the box because they lacking things like what emotions...

Oh, I didn't consider Sekhem Sorcerers because I wasn't really sure how they'd be getting their power from the otherworldly entity, and now I'm realizing that the mummies themselves would be a great otherworldly entity....

  • The intent originally was so that the game is fully playable with just the gameline's book. Unfortunately this book requires Core for some of it's content....

  • Umm... Okay, three problems with the preview:
    1) If you're going to require the Chronicles of Darkness Rulebook for basically all of your antagonist rules... then just say that in the introduction chapter and not waste massive amounts of page count on the "repeating the Chronicles of Darkness Rulebook" chapter.
    2) What are the emotions for these courts and how do they work with Bedlam?
    3) How do the courts which don't "Change Seasons" work with the rules for when hedge-portals close?

  • The dates kickstarter says when I look up the updates are November 15th for the first preview and November 22nd. So the pattern would make the third happen on the 29th.

Edit: Seems I assumed the dates kickstarter was listing weren't customisable depending on location. For me it will be happening on the 29th (which isn't tomorrow), for americans it would be 28th (which is only just became tomorrow a short while ago)....

  • If it follows the pattern of the other previews, it'll be out on the 29th so it's unlikely to be up tomorrow....

  • Take control of your horror, have them travel through the local hive of the primordial dream. The horror can potentially then travel into the dream of someone, in which it can then attempt to terrify the individual in a manner appropriate for your hunger. Finding the dream of someone specific could be rather difficult though and there are no rules for it....
