Until we get full rules, I'm just going to allow Occult skill to do some minor magic that isn't fully under your control with difficultly based on how hard achieving the thing without magic would be....

  • Despite him being banned I'm going to respond to some of his points for anyone who is finds this thread later looking for clarity on the game.

What your describing doesn't fit into any of the three types of stunt listed in the section you are quoting, as you aren't giving anyone a complication, enhancement or trying to increase the difficulty of an action. You could use a complication stunt to add the complication of "Injured Leg" to an enemy to make it harder for them to move around, but that wont incapacitate them, it'll just give them the complication.

  • Not how the game works. If you take out an enemy with a gun, you can very easily kill them if that's the sort of game being run. From the section on Taking Out "It’s up to the Storyguide to judge the tone of the campaign and determine whether or not a character has been permanently slain". I am also unclear what Stunt your referring to, since none seem to have any way of incapacitating enemies outside of the ones that inflict damage.

Except the player doesn't have control over the universe. Just their character. "the overriding mechanic to the entire game is...

  • PCs aren't the only people who exist..... Sometimes you might want to take out an enemy without the risk of killing them.

"The only time something dies is when a PC wants it to die and explicitly says "I kill it." No other time." is 100% invented by you. Not the book. In the book, the SG is the one who decides based on circumstances and tone if a character is killed when they get the Taken Out condition.

"Even under the "Taken Out" Injury Condition in Combat which only applies to PCs it explicitly lists that PCs can only be killed by...

I'd say it is when memory isn't actually required for that cosmological branch your mentioning. It seems like you're using the term memory to a degree much broader than the actual word memory. When someone stands in front of a light, it casts a shadow, but that shadow is not a memory. i

Ah, just as eating a sandwich is a memory thing because something existed at some point and then it ceased to exist empowering the person who consumes it.

    Yes?

Except it's a framework you are headcanoning...

    That's not memory. That...

.... satchel, that definition of memory is so wide it is completely detached from the meaning of the word. Just having some connection to an event or object or thing != memory, since we're talking about a game where things happen because of causality, Every fuel stat by your definition is powered by memory. Just having people having the capability of detecting a thing to have happened doesn't imply that those memories somehow are mystically being used as part of that fuel anymore than memories are mystically incorporated into how computers send emails in real-life. Just because I can remember...

    Castoffs follow normal ghost rules.

They seem to get it from the resonance, not something being sacrificed in the way Angels get power from destruction of any living creatures and wealth.

How does participants being involved imply any connection to memory?

I did mention Anchors separate to the memories, yes.

That could be said of fuel stats in general, because otherwise it would be weird for a supernatural to use a fuel-stat that doesn't thematically fit the type of supernatural. How does emotions not have just as...

Not all essence is memory/emotion though so I fail to see the lore overlap. Angelic essence comes from by sacrifice and infrastructure, Ghost essence comes from memory and anchors, Geotia and Spirit essence comes from Resonance which can include things like Tree and Gun as much as they include things like Anger. The overlap seems to be purely mechanical outside of Spirit and Goetia.

  • As far as I'm aware no one has questioned your ability to read or understand English, so I am uncertain why you are repeating that fact in various different responses.

Don't attack people who answer your questions just because you disagree with them, especially when the posts you eventually agree with are repeating the same information that was said in posts that you decided were attacks on your intelligence, you are going to get more productive and efficient discussion for future questions if you don't assume people have agendas.

The book does have presentation issues...

  • I haven't condescended at all. I think you might need to take a break and calm down as you appear to be seeing attacks where there aren't any and then ignoring any statements made in those statements. That isn't to say that others in this thread might not have an agressive or bitter tonne from frustration, but it doesn't help anyone if you end up just assuming people who are trying to explain something as being an insult....

They exist. Nothing really changes aside from there being figures that some other people call gods. Some gnostic groups see the gods as archons of the demiurge.

  • Nothing in my post suggested that at all. So I'm very confused by this. I am saying you are overthinking the words written down and are ascribing them with meaning past that which the book is actually presenting, which leads you to incorrect conclusions. There was also no hostility in my response at all, so I don't really understand why you are saying things like "village idiot".

The bolded is the part in error. Complications exist outside of the context of conditions. You can have complications without suffering from a condition. I do feel like the information should...

  • Dude, you're over thinking it. They get the complications, but they don't get the actual conditions themselves with full on condition mechanics. It's literally that simple.

A burger might contain a beef patty, but the world doesn't suddenly not make sense just because you can have a beef patty without buying an entire burger.

  • Geist the Sin-Eaters is a game where you play a bunch of misfits with death gods sealed inside them that they summon to help fight masked spectres in Tartarus, all the while getting stronger by increasing their social links. It's very persona.

  • 1. Pick Concept
    2. Make three paths for your character. Each with three skills associated with them.
2.1. First Path corresponds to your character’s origin, who they were before the story started.
2.2 The second corresponds to their role, who they are now.
2.3 The third corresponds to their pantheon, how they relate to the gods and myths of their patron’s pantheon. Must include your two pantheon skills in your three associated skills.
    3. Pick a path, get 3 skill dots in each skill associated with that path. Pick a second path, 2 dots each skill. Your third path's...
