    That comes across way more harsh (and kinda passive-aggressive) than I think it's meant to? I get the feeling that you're trying to say "Hey, that is something that, when I do it, doesn't work for me (and is usually unhelpful for my OCD) why don't you try this way instead?"


    Everyone approaches RPG's differently. Some people don't like just reusing stat blocks of NPC's for encounters, or find it hard to just migrate one thing to another. If they want it be a "soldier" unit rather than "ghost" unit, it may take more work for them. Finding 3e hard...

    Finally. This can only be a good thing in my book.

    Trying to get any non-Exalted person interested in Exalted right now is all but impossible. It's just way too complex for the current environment. People have literally recoiled from me when I told them the page length of the core book.

    "Martial Arts", for my design philosophy, is simply how the character interacts with combat. There are specific Styles and techniques, of course, just like there are specific charms and Powers. But you can always create your own.

    Mechanics: (subject to change)
    Specific Styles will be associated with whichever Ability closest represents them, and are just collections of similarly-themed and mechanically cohesive Powers. I want your Tiger Styles, Mantis styles, as well as your wacky and weird styles like in Read Or Die, where you can form a paper airplane and do a death...

    I'm very happy with how this new combat system is running. When I did a playtest, it was way more inventive and cinematic than the Endurance based one, and it makes me very happy.

    Some stats need to be adjusted, and I need to balance some antagonist stats higher, but that's all fine tuning. I'm finally at a point with the combat where I feel the core is actually working in speed, visuals, and mechanical granularity.
