Anyone know the status of the music suite? That was one of the things I thought would be cool.

  • Eh.... I mean, there's so little written about him and what there is speaks about how "the love of his life chose another." When there is so little to go on, and that seems to be so prominent in his story, it just makes him seem....petty.

It's just a sentence, but every sentence counts with such limited information. It's just my minor gripe about how the first glance of Getimians is: A. About a Sidereal, and B. About a seemingly petty Sidereal.

There are ways to take what is written and make it interesting, as you guys have pointed out. But still, I don't want...

  • Agreed. Being a fan of Nocturnals, there's going to be a lot of inspiration from them that I'll be drawing from. Lots of things that revolve around "Temporal Shenanigans"--which is not breaking time, but bending it enough that it can form loops and do screwy things that doesn't make sense....

Getimians, what we know, what we suspect

Getimians are the most interesting new splat. Obviously my opinion on this is immutable fact and none can question it (sorry, Liminal lovers. I'm sure that sick burn can be healed by tossing it off and finding some new corpse to integrate into your body.)

Anyway, I'm trying to gather what we know about them, and what we speculate, so I can use them as npc's and forces of nature in my own campaign.

    It seems:
    * Rhakun Thul, a Sidereal, rebels against fate, punches off Saturn's killing blade, then walks off his job.
    - Side Note: I'm not super happy about...

Any thoughts on separating castes from abilities entirely? Sometimes I wonder if it might open the door for interesting charm design....

Well, this is heavier than I wanted in this thread, but alright.

There are those of us who aren't exactly thrilled with how 3e turned out. While I understand that you can't please everyone, I was hoping for some assurance that certain design philosophies would be changed/refined going forward based on the criticism that 3e has received.

It doesn't seem appropriate to go into too much detail in this thread, but I think a couple of non-controversial examples would be "tightening" up the language used to describe charms, and making sure each ability tree would...

  • Seriously, what did I just say about attacking people behind the opinions.

"Hey, if you abstract the crafting system to the sorcerous working system, you lose an aspect of chaining projects and running things in parallel." --Good. A good rebuttal, well thought out, makes me think. I would counter with saying that I did mean the more long-term projects, not the entirety of craft. And maybe you could ecorporate the parallel aspect into the "long-term projects."

"I suggest you actually think about what the game's systems do before commenting on them."...

  • It is both well-meaning and a list of grievances: they aren't mutually exclusive.

My question is: if not now, then when?

This is a clean slate time, a time when we can analyze what is going right and what is going wrong. I know that you are probably aware of all this stuff, that you guys lurk on the forums and are probably familiar with the arguments and everything. But this is supposed to be a reference for both you guys and us. Where we know you've seen it, and where it doesn't get lost over time. And it's a place where you can refer back to when, say "oh, I'm...

    The Constructive Criticism Reference Thread

Having a new set of devs feel like a breathe of fresh air for the line. It may not be the editing rewrite that I was hoping for, but it looks to be a good direction.

One of the things that discouraged me about the line and this forum was that any criticism of the game line became a battleground. People would instantly choose sides and attacks others based on game design--which is ultimately an opinion on how best the line should proceed.

I want to start this on a fresh slate. I want this thread, in particular, to be a spot that the new devs can go to and see genuine and...

Could you give us an introduction? Who you are, what you've done in the past? I've seen you two around, but feel a bit out of the loop as to who you are. (might be a good idea to edit your responses into the first post)

Maybe say what you are most excited to work on in the line, from the small to the very large....
